Chinese New year (Rat) this Lunar year will be January 25. My door is old and I use it often to paint on, or simply try out new techniques. Solid wood, it is dependable and always welcoming. (to me).. At this time of year, it gets a festive holiday New Year greeting (blessing) for those in the home and friends coming in.

To the right of the entrance door is the old milk box, where the delivery service would come in the mornings, take away the old empty bottles and exchange them for fresh new milk, if lucky with a wonderful dollop of cream floating on top. How many of you remember these boxes…
Yes Norm, the door is faded from the last time you saw her. Maybe this spring, I will give her a new look. Stay tuned =^_^=
Thanks for visiting.. muah.. hugs to you all …

Good morning I’m back with my link (inspired by your (fellow door chasers) blogs https://dymoonblog.com/2020/01/16/thursday-doors-32/
That’s a novel door!
it came with the house, and I could never bring myself to updating or changing it. =^_^= I interact with it like a canvas.. smiles it is MY door.
It’s definitely a one-off
I love your painted-on door! I wish I had the courage to do that. Of course, I can’t paint, but I could certainly have fun! 🙂
believe me, I had to do it as soon as I got that “urge” cuz like you.. I would not have done it. My husband was very good, he stayed silent on the matter…
The door doesn’t look like the door of the regular house. It is something like part of fairy tale.
Do you still have this milk delivery service, or it is just a nice memory of the past?
Oh would it be still something that happens… no.. it is but a memory. Today such a door would be boarded up, (times have changed) I have kept mine because to get to it, you must first have access to inside the back veranda. This bolted. These are the times we live in, I am a twenty minute to half hour walk from parliament and the huge spider sculpture you enjoyed when in Ottawa.. yet. Good Morning Alex.. have a good day!
Thank you. Enjoy your day too!
Life is a movable thing and on our way trough it we see a lot of changes. Unfortunately, not all of them are good. 🙂
An original take on the theme
I am itching now to give her a new look… will have to wait till the minus 15 weather passes
hey! hi over there..
🙂
