The past, present/ now and tomorrow.
Standing there on the railway ties, looking down the line, I wondered how often, a train travelled down, past were I was standing.
I had stopped to talk to the cattle on the the hill. Saw them from the road, pulled over to the side of the road and turned back. They couldn’t have cared less, who was this strange being calling to them from the fence. The horses in the top picture, were not interested in giving me the time of day either. Just because i wanted to interact with them… didn’t mean that they would be interested in dialog with me. Such is life.
The world in abstract, the sign, lured me with its emptiness, half there, I still found it beautiful.
The trees planted in a line along a now unused road, still had a sense of majesty to them. True they no longer created a wind break for the horses, in the now empty field… but they stood tall, and gave dignity to the landscape.
The two hoses checking me out, were new to the paddock having arrived just a few days earlier, to them, I was a curiosity, they still had to figure out if i would be part of their new lives.
We are all transient, some times we get to stay a little longer than others, in one place or another, the reality is… no two moments are the same.
Trains were a way to escape to distant places. Now of course, to go even further we have planes. The truth is, no matter where we go, or how many miles we put between us and yesterday, we are always still abstractly speaking, right where we always are. In our personal space. Dealing with the NOW we cannot avoid.

” A spoken exchange of news and ideas between people.” concise Oxford English dictionary. Have you ever wondered how many actual conversations you have participated in, during the course of a day. Were they actual conversations, or words exchanged and then forgotten.
Is it a conversation when you ask someone for the time, or greet someone in passing.
“communication -communicate- share or exchange information or ideas – convey (an emotion or feeling in a on verbal way, etc. (again Oxford Dictionary)
“discuss – Talk about (something) so as to reach a decision, etc (Oxford Dictionary)
What is it we do all day. Blah blah blah… yadda yadda yadda…. Sometimes I just want to be quiet with my partner/friend/spouse. Share in doing nothing together, What do you think? Is this a possibility.

transports me to another time and place
moments ARE forever
they can never be relived.
good or bad
in that moment
you live, the past, present

with each breath I take

A cow waited by the side of the road, my mind began a conversation with the cow. I imagined that I was able to sit down in a field of clover and visit … just me, the open field and the cow.
How calm, how quiet my companion was. The only sound the masticating of its cud, and the swishing of its tail.
Yes, I would like to explore the possibility of such a moment. No radio, no sounds of traffic, just the environmental sounds of being in a field with a cow. I imagine that the conversation would be different with a goat. The two are very different.

Being true to one’s self – and trying to fit in to what the traditions and customs of others might be, can be a challenge. A simple conversation between son and parent can be very enlightening. Whether we are aware of it or not, what we say, how we say it can impact on someone else, and we may never know just how that conversation will play out over the years. It is when one day you are chatting and the off spring says something, that resonates with you. You react to the statement, and of course, the two of you are sympatico, you agree on the pronouncement… however, the delivery of same is coming back at you or to you in a manner that is not what you would have thought the way it could have been expressed. (“my” reaction)
Honesty IS very important, and expressing One’s true feelings and thoughts IS what is taught, but some how another important ingredient has to come into the mix. Awareness of the feelings of others, and that not everyone deals with life the way we do.
A dear friend that I share the “passion” for creativity with saw my picture (shown above) I don’t usually name my expressions, because I find that when I do, it confines it to MY thoughts at the moment.. and limits its potential. I could pick it up and work on it again, altho’ I seldom do that.. except I am learning.. this technique, requires working in stages because I prefer to let the medium dry on its own. I digress.. this is not a how to on painting, when “possum” saw it, she came back with… is this about the 7 new planets that have been discovered….  totally foreign to me, never crossed my mind, but her words, were like WOW..   oh I like… she gave me a totally different perspective with her simple “reaction” to my post to her.
All of a sudden, my expression took on new life for me.. and now when I look at it, I wonder where it came from… who did that, and what were they thinking when they did it..
A gift we all have, is the ability to communicate with others… how we interact, and how we accept, retain, and use the constant flow of information and ideas… is a wonderful, complex and amazing part of life.
We are each and every one of us, unique in our own way, appreciate and learn from the information that comes our way, and always, do your best to maintain a positive outlook.
Life is beautiful, and so are YOU.

PL Precept #15Â all is a mirror

Don’t worry .. this is a short story =^_^= I was recently asked to go through long forgotten boxes (husband doing a clean up and rearranging in part of the house).. I got to go through several boxes of pictures. Pictures, tons of pictures, there was nothing to do but sit down with a box and begin.
What emerged were pictures of another lifetime,in fact ..many life times .  People, places long gone from my present. Although I did remember some of the moments, if I’m honest, many moments captured were really no longer part of  my current bank of memories, and most of the people who I came across would be total strangers to me now.  I wouldn’t recognize them unless they came up to me and said, “hey, remember me…”
Like pebbles in the ocean
being washed in by the waves
daily our lives change…
sometimes the changes are subtle
other times, the change is drastic
shattering your life pattern
so that nothing remains the same…
the quiet slow changes do the same,
only you have time to assimilate
and are always on top of your game.
The memories were and are good … Â I realized that although at the time I might not have appreciated the growing pains…
( IF there was any) but in seeing the happy faces, and the recalling the moments/events/happenings, I felt really blessed to have had  such caring and loving friends.
People change, friends drift apart, what was, was, and what is, IS. Â The saying “when one door closes, another opens” is so bang on. Â When we enjoy life, with all the opportunities we are offered, greet the day with enthusiasm, our days become more rewarding. Â Not matter what it is, what the day bring, really get into it. Â Put your heart into everything you do, don’t squander the adventures offered by the Universe.
When you go through a door, don’t just open it, walk through, and forget it, each door tells a story, make sure you leave your presence known. Â What will your story be today.
