PL Precept # 15 All is a mirror
Today is a busy world, how we keep in touch tends to be with a text, and e-mail .. AND if we are moved, we pick up the phone and have a chat. So often I hear that the chosen way to connect is by text.
I was out with my Mother and sister yesterday, my Mom is legally blind, and can no longer stand for long periods of time, due to a very nasty hip and bad back, so she is in a wheelchair. She has always enjoyed receiving, and sending out cards. At 95 she still has that desire to “keep in touch” and for her, she likes doing it by card and with a phone call. At 95 she is no longer surrounded by her many many friends, the cards arriving and the calls, have long ago stopped happening.
My sisters’ and I find ourselves doing her card shopping, she likes to always have cards on hand to send or give to friends and acquaintances, some of my friends who used to participate in the ATC (Artist Trading Card) rounds, used to send her cards, simply to share with her. She loved it. She has binders of saved mini art pieces that she can go back to and remember. To my wonderful friends who still send her an ATC and /or card, I appreciate and love you with my whole heart for being so thoughtful and generous, in sharing your gifts.
Since way before our time, love, caring appreciation, recognition was shared with a card, sentiment, letter, it was something done by the person sending, the special personal greeting, that when received, was always a special moment, and a time when a “fresh” connection was made … across the miles, distance and time vanished as the friendship was forged into a tighter bond.
It is not in the number of times, you do something, or how often you call, it is in the quality of the time you spend, and the sincerity of your actions.

For a great video on letting go… take a moment to watch Amanda Gore
the fall colour beckons
the call is mysterious and haunting
the sky no matter, what time of day
can’t hide the magnificent display
of Mother Nature’s awesome art
she uses every ruse at her command
to tantalize and entice us
by hooking up to all our senses
Like a spider she spins her web
we don’t even see, or notice… till it is done’
the intricate pattern, the ability to create such beauty
with such methodical precision yet delicate and balanced
we really are, part of a master plan
our reality and observations
change from day to da
so no matter where we are,
where we go
nature is all around us
ok, taking off to enjoy the day
you coming?
and NO.. this is not a selfie

Don’t worry .. this is a short story =^_^= I was recently asked to go through long forgotten boxes (husband doing a clean up and rearranging in part of the house).. I got to go through several boxes of pictures. Pictures, tons of pictures, there was nothing to do but sit down with a box and begin.
What emerged were pictures of another lifetime,in fact ..many life times . People, places long gone from my present. Although I did remember some of the moments, if I’m honest, many moments captured were really no longer part of my current bank of memories, and most of the people who I came across would be total strangers to me now. I wouldn’t recognize them unless they came up to me and said, “hey, remember me…”
Like pebbles in the ocean
being washed in by the waves
daily our lives change…
sometimes the changes are subtle
other times, the change is drastic
shattering your life pattern
so that nothing remains the same…
the quiet slow changes do the same,
only you have time to assimilate
and are always on top of your game.
The memories were and are good … I realized that although at the time I might not have appreciated the growing pains…
( IF there was any) but in seeing the happy faces, and the recalling the moments/events/happenings, I felt really blessed to have had such caring and loving friends.
People change, friends drift apart, what was, was, and what is, IS. The saying “when one door closes, another opens” is so bang on. When we enjoy life, with all the opportunities we are offered, greet the day with enthusiasm, our days become more rewarding. Not matter what it is, what the day bring, really get into it. Put your heart into everything you do, don’t squander the adventures offered by the Universe.
When you go through a door, don’t just open it, walk through, and forget it, each door tells a story, make sure you leave your presence known. What will your story be today.

a story that begins with a door!

Good morning everyone! Hope your day is going well for you. Did you all enjoy wearing the “green” ..I personally had a wonderful day driving along the St. Lawrence (the great waterway that separates the United States and Canada) The day started out with -20 something weather, but turned to a balmy minus single digit by the time the noon hour was upon us.. Definitely during a Canadian winter we did not see a bicycle rider such as the one I’m showing you today. LOL and even on a good sunny day in summer, we are not likely to see such a sight here in Canada. Here we are about cars, motorcycles, and more cars. Riding a pedal bicycle is usually a recreational or sport activity. What caught me about this picture is the balance and way the artist packed his merchandise on the bicycle. We are all artists in life, we all use our gift in different ways. This man had to pile the pineapples in just such a way for him to carry the load and maintain balance so he can get his wares to market. Everything has its place. This was one moment in this man’s life captured in time. PL Principle # 3 I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.
Yesterday while my friend and I drove along enjoying the sunshine and our friendship, we got to talk about life and share just being able to catch up. Both with busy lives, we can keep in touch, but while her activities tend to take her daily in multiple directions, she still works “9-5” mine is more laid back and my time more flexible. Sharing feelings, joys, sadness and disappointments is important, not because you want someone to resolve an issue or make something go away, but just to hear a thought out loud gives US a different perspective. PLUS, when we have a better understanding of a friend’s feelings and thoughts, we are better able to share in their happiness. joys and sorrows. PL Principle # 4 I will live with the spirit of Misasage (Devotion) working for the happiness of others.
somewhere in Mongolia on a clear day….
Calmness and adaptability will see you through…

A single flower amid lush greenery – this picture always gives a moment of reflection and feel good feeling. I see the fragile petals against the more rigid leaves of the evergreen. The tinged pink blush along the petals gives the flower a delicate look and though it is a soft velvety smooth petal, the flower itself gives an overall message of strength. “Look at me, I’m here” “Come enjoy me, bend closer smell my fragrance” To the bees and insects it calls out, “join me, share in my life” Nature is a work of art, and it co-exists with the world around it. Why is it, that the human species finds it so difficult to achieve this same “Oneness” with the “Universe”
Acts of respect and courtesy are reflections on how we value others. Healing begins within our “selves” When we feel love and positive energy within, it is an energy that reflects out to the world around us. It is no secret, the energy of healing begins with us. Our willingness to change, may or may not benefit others, but we become healed. We become capable of love. Today I will work on a change of heart. I will let go of negative thoughts and replace them with the healing energy of love
