red sails or Koi

What do we see when we are shown an abstract painting. Do we even see anything at all. Maybe only the colours jump out at you, is it the texture, the groupings. This is one of my latest pieces, turned in all directions. I know which side I see as up, but then when doing the photos, I saw so much else when I viewed it from the different angles.

In my mind when I started, I had the song “red sails in the sunset” running through my gray matter.. later when I stood back and looked at it again, a few days later…. I saw Koi. Each evoked different emotion and thoughts.

When you think.. “I’ve got it,” Think again. It is so easy to misinterpret the situation and jump to conclusions. Always have a humble attitude and double check to make sure.

feelings

Have you ever felt that you live in a world, where no one really knows your name. OK they may know your name, but you are just another face in the crowd. This is a time of year, when family and friends gather to share memories of the past, and the possibilities that lie ahead.

I was reminded yesterday how fragile life can be. One moment you are working, living busy in a fast moving society. Then suddenly you “wake” to find that you are now on the other side of the street, and “life” seems to be passing you by. Sometimes by choice, and other times, ‘boom” for whatever reason, you just can’t get on or off the bus.

This is a “condition” that can happen to any of us. Rich or poor, it affects everyone, money is not what buys or determines how happy we are. The answers, solutions, they are all varied and different for every human being is unique. We all love, cry, laugh, and “feel”. Emotions are real.

The philosophy of the Church of Perfect Liberty is to help us recognize the ups and downs of everyday life, and help us understand our SELVES so that “we” can recognize what in US, needs fixing, repairing, strengthening. Truth is, we can only change ourselves.

Happiness begins from within, I’m a glutton for “happy”. Smiles and beams just thinking of how nice it is to be happy. And YOU dear reader, my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you, who share time with me during the day, night, weeks, and months. I love reading your thoughts, seeing your “visual expressions” you are “Beauty” within my world. thank you for all the happiness we’ve shared. I am looking forward to the sunshine of 2020 with you.

Share the beauty in you today, SMILE it is so becoming.

top artwork is mine.

old China 12.28

Ola, bom dia. Old China is the latest piece I am working on. You have heard me say this before, as an artist of sorts, I never think about what it is I am gong to do, rather I am just “led”. By this I mean I come into my studio and see something that catches my interest in this case it was a blank canvas. I know I want to use certain colours, I don’t ask why, I just reach for them and let my desire to express take over.

When next I step back and look, I think… ok… what is this. In a distant far off memory, I think of China. A book cover or picture I saw of Old China. Thus the name, Old China. Of course it doesn’t end there, the paint as to dry, so between the layers I have been off doing whatever else has involved my attention The above is about 4,5 maybe 6 steps. I don’t think or plan, I just do.

I realized that much of how I live is like I paint, or express myself. I simply live the moment. I say simply, but it isn’t always simple for those around me. Do you ever consider how your actions can affect someone else. Seems I will have another lesson to put on my to learn page.

In PL we learn, PL Principle 21. I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

During the night and some time in the early hours of the morning. I worked some more Old China. Here she is this morning.

Am I done, I don’t know. At the moment, she is happy … so I will leave her be and check on her later. Meanwhile everyone, have a grand day, the sun is bright in the sky here. Hope it shines on you too.

a little cheer

multicraft gifts – Thurston Dr. Ottawa, Ontario,Canada

Did you just groan. LOL, get ready, it will soon be in your face. Crafters are already preparing, and many like myself have started the various projects mid October. There were several craft shows happening this week-end, I suspect from now till mid December there will be a craft show happening somewhere every week-end.

Whether you are prepared or not, you will be drawn in, the festive season is one too bright and merry to avoid. For Americans their Thanksgiving is this month. Double fun, and a lot of home cooking.

Accept everything with appreciation. Appreciate not just people and society, but everything that comes your way. You will experience a deeper joy in life.

Perfect Liberty 2012.21

Today I have a deep appreciation for my friend Bonnie, she is a wizard when it comes to organization and planning, I was lucky enough to get some of her time, to help me with my “scattered files” When my husband passed away, (he had been the master planner and keeper of the files) for me it was a mountain of a task to apply myself to what needed to be done.

Wonder woman arrived with her big blue scarf, her cape was in the wash, and giving me time to gather my wandering mind… she gently pushed the procrastination file aside and began in earnest to put some order to the disorder. A big thank you Bonnie.

I have finally reached a maturity where I can acknowledge that I’m not good at everything. >will wonders never cease< =^_^=

Express your feelings without hesitation. If you hold in all your feelings, you will feel heavy. Just say what is on your mind without hesitating.

mystic Monday

lush, beautiful … soft, sensuous

gentle rhythms pulsate — in the tremendous

flight of imagination … that takes place

when I am drawn into that creative space

of canvas, acrylics and the artists need

to create the emotion that begs expression

all because my computer misbehaves

PL calendar day 9 It’s interesting because it’s different

Free your mind to consider other and all possibilities.

Happy start to a new week!

Door number 2

Guess who is having fun in her studio!  Silly goose me!  October is jut around the corner, I have begun my fall inventory.

Door #3

PL Precept #1    Life is art!!

Every day is a new beginning, every page will  tell a different story.  Door # 3 has a couple more pages to do, I ran out of the card page I wanted.  It will be done this week.

You have heard me say often enough- Finish what you start…  Especially on a creative art piece.  Each piece has its own feeling, its own identity, when you leave something too long, it is no longer that same vibe when you pick it up again.  You have changed.  Yes, every day, we grow, we learn, we advance in our “story”  No two days are alike.

PL calendar day 2    Live each day filled with hope

Even in those situations when you feel trapped with no way out, face every challenge with purpose and enthusiasm and you will always find a way.

Good morning, this is last night’s project, yes it was one of those stay up late nights.. We all have them.  The project that keeps us up way past normal shutting down hours.  There are times when you just need to go with the flow.

PL calendar day 23 –    Once you’ve set out to do something, it is your job.

Once you have accepted a task, don’t make any excuses.  Continue the job until the very end and make sure the outcome is something you can truly be proud of.
