Did you know needle felting is done with sheep’s wool, after the sheep is sheared, the wool is processed into roving… I spent years chasing after the product before it became easily accessible, when felting became a skill that was more popular. On the left is one of the dancers I made when I was with the Canadian leg of an American one of a kind Art Doll group.
I was reflecting not long ago on how now when I drive country roads, I no longer see farm animals grazing peacefully in the fields. I even thought back to a very distant memory when the first home my parents bought had a coal bin, in the basement.
Memories are something that creep into our lives when we least expect them to, and when our thought process is not always ready to accept or understand why.. they are surfacing.
In PL we have a precept that you see me use often.

My life has been long, busy, and very full. I reflect at times, at how my life experiences have brought me to where I am today.
Have you seen one of my post … on FB .. where I use a sign that reads…
In my younger years, we made things out off whatever we could find to create what we were trying to express … or for instance make something we needed or wanted, because unlike today, we couldn’t just go to a shop and purchase something.
With all this technology today (and believe me, let something happen to my keyboard or mouse!! you want to see panic!!) are we inundated with too much…???
We are all so accepting of credit cards, cell phones that are carried everywhere, … let me ask…. do you ever want a quieter easier less frantic lifestyle.. do you know what it is to have a peaceful lazy day where you don’t experience quilt if you set aside time just for YOU.??
PL Precept #20 Live maintaining equilibrium between mind and matter
Yesterday I had a moment of sitting in a tree, on an upper branch that held two of us… the moment was breath taking. The visual of that moment was for me…. simply awesome..
I think having awesome moments in this day and age… is utterly fantastic.
Here is wishing you such moments… everyone deserves them!!!

Mornings are cooler, I’ve seen colour in the trees, at first it was a hint of red, then an amber turned to a pumpkin orange… there is no longer any doubt, the season is going to change early.

Reach out and talk to a friend today that you have had on your mind, but haven’t caught up with in awhile
Every day is a new beginning. Once today is gone, it will never happen again.
I received a text this morning, in seconds my world was changed. That is how quickly “life happens”.. Don’t squander your day.. Enjoy who you are in this moment, Appreciate and have gratitude… now is slipping away, I close my eyes and say a simple “thank you” for sharing this moment with me.

PL Precept #21 Live in Perfect Liberty

“Summer is over ” I heard the grumble .. I wasn’t trying to hear, but the other visitors nearby were unhappy at the prospect of a summer shower.
True the forecast was for off and on “sun showers” till later in the day, with the threat of a thunderstorm during the supper hour. But with the weather .. there are no guarantees.
Yet the group of sun “bathers” were so wrapped up in what MAY be going to happen, they were not appreciating the warm sun drenched moment… NOW.

There was a sprinkle of drops, maybe for all of 3 minutes.. and it was over… People quickly packed up and moved on… I stayed .. enjoying an afternoon of refreshing moments with a sun that was warm and welcoming.
Summer is wrapping up, but there are a zillion astonishing moments ahead. Fall Baby! is just around the corner!!!!

It is truly amazing when you look back at yourself this year compared to last year, or today, compared to yesterday, and realize who much you have improved or changed.

My cats watching television. I wonder at times what they are thinking as they watch the birds, squirrels, bunnies and other wild critters go about their business of searching for food on the telly . They sit at the patio doors and look out to the courtyard as well. I took a page from their lives yesterday, and took a day off. I let the world go by, and you know what. it survived without me, and I got along just fine.
