tree hugger

IMG_1493I travel far and near to find a tree, usually when I do find one that will chat with me, he lives with cousins near by who are also willing to spin a yarn or two.

IMG_1491Oh goodness me child, how nice of you to stop and visit.  We can wait from dawn to dusk to be noticed, but find, we are old, and worn, so no one stops to visit anymore.  They come with their dogs and walk right by, they head for open spaces.

IMG_1489Freddy down the way, will be glad of some company,  he gets few tenants these days, not even the dogs that come this way, use us anymore to mark their way.

IMG_1495Down the bend, to the right, you will see  a path beside Uncle John.  The leaves are crisp you will enjoy the sound as they say thank you for your trust in accepting their guidance as you walk the unknown path.

IMG_1498Please come again, your shadow is growing taller,  In a few months when you come again, we will be able to show you much more of our world.  Then we will see your shadow in the snow. till then, your shadow imprint, will remain for a while, leaving us smiling, because you shared with us.

Just me and my shadow, enjoying the morning sun.  There are a lot of roads out there, this one I will visit again. I enjoy and appreciate visiting with Nature. It is pure, it is real.

Xmas in May

2014-05-03 2014-05-03 001 015

That’s right, Xmas, snow, jingle bells, and all that glitters, that is my world the last few days as I start to prepare for the making of holiday cards for seniors and shut ins .  My sister is a long time contributor to various charities and organizations, this year she was able to get my attention, for the cause, and I accepted.  Yes, it is not till later in the year, but as all of you who are card artists and crafters will know, to be done, with access to supplies etc. we start now.

With shops busy with current events, such as weddings, graduations, vacations, winter is far away, and many have their Xmas/winter embellishments and card/paper stock on sale.

In some ways it is easier for me to be creative about a season that is on its way, in months to come, because I get to work in a sun filled studio with the temperature a nice seasonal 60 – 70 something degrees.

With no pressure to get something done, now….. because someone else needs it to do their part.  ie. know what inventory they have so they can know how best to serve their clients.  I can create and play just “chilling”

The picture of the “tree” was taken a few years back when my other sister was up from California, and we toured a “green” area not far from where we were at t he time.

These are the other hikers we met  along the trail.

This is a beautiful time of the year, so much is happening in the woodlands and gardens that are waking after a long winter’s sleep.  We are so fortunate for our abundance.  Today’s lesson on the calendar #23 is  Applaud the Makoto of others (Makoto=sincerity)  When you encounter good faith or kindness in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully.

Brinde aplausos al Makoto de las personas.  Cuando recibe cordialidad y amabilidad de los otros, admirelos sin escatimar.

Life is good

Happy, sunshine and joyful day to you all

old Chelsea rd to Wakefield

It was a heavenly day, sunny, bright, the promise of a lazy summer in the air.  We had stopped to explore a property with a for sale sign.  The view was magnificent.  In the summer when the woodlands were dense with foliage, the view would be entirely different.

DSC00340The odd car went by on the old highway, but that aside, the little woodland was quiet.  There were signs that at one time, someone had built, there was firewood neatly stacked waiting to be needed.  The building though was long gone.  All that was left was the remanet of a concrete step.

As we stood in silence taking in the fresh air and the ambiance of the day, we were each in our own thoughts. To Rev. Eisuke, who was born and raised in Japan, then spent the last 6 years assigned to Argentina… I could only imagine what his thought were.  Mine was on the many times I’d driven by, and never seen this slice of heaven  It was a perfect moment. Everything just felt so right.  Nature’s embrace does that.  We both marvelled at the blessings of living with God brings.  PL Precept #11  Always be with  God.

Coming back we took the super-duper new highway that cut through the rugged hillside.  Speeding us back to civilization. Sigh. That is just what life is about. When the moment happens. seize it. Blessings come in many guises.

Happy Happy Sunday everyone!

Isn’t this a beautiful still capture.  At one time this table had to have been in an open space where a family could picnic, or hikers in the woods could stop and rest.  Now it sits gathering moss and Mother Nature has come calling with lacy foliage to dress the weather worn wood.  The young trees and shrubs are slowly making their way over, spreading out their arms in welcome.  The woodland creatures now have a place to sit and sun, and in the seasons where nuts and pine cones dot the floor, they can picnic on the moss covered table.  Invite their friends and have a gathering party. There will be places for the crows, red wings, and jays in the branches of the trees. What a cheerful playground this will be now that Nature has once again made it theirs.

texas backwoods fishing at sunrise

It is Father’s Day here in Canada and the United States, this is where many would like to be enjoying Nature, just man and his rod.  Men are not alone in their passion for fishing, but we seem to relate fishing to the men.   This picture was pinned by A Bachelor & His Grill =^_^=  .  Would I like to put on a pair hip waders and be there, in a flash.  I can hear the early morning sounds of a waking woodlands, smell the fresh morning air, feel the soft mist on my face. Sigh, yes, such a moment would be delicious.  That said if one ole nasty mosquito came along it would break the spell.  Oh dear, the city girl in me just popped out.

Morning smiles all around … feel good smile, share a laugh,  be happy happy happy.  To all father’s out there, Happy Father’s Day, and to all the women out there who have to be both parents,  have  double barreled hollering day of  joy filled moments.  Make the day count.
