YaBaDab -A-Do

q-wearing-chaffro

Awen this is not a wombat, it is Q wearing a Chaffro outfit, for the Chinese New Year, coming soon to place near you.

I learned lately that my sisters and I who are real siblings, do not speak the same language. message received, “Moana is too full. Decided to go to la la land”

What I understood, my sister for some reason had referred to herself as Moana, she ate too much of the dinner ( she had sent me pictures of the shrimp dish she had made) and now was taking herself off to bed.  I didn’t know why she was sharing this, she sends cryptic messages from time to time, so I really didn’t dwell on it too long.  However I was curious as to why she had decided to call herself Mona, so I sent back a text, asking her.

She replied to me so obviously my other sister, knew exactly what she was speaking of.. she wrote back 3 words,  Disney movie Moana (she isn’t long on texting or writing)

Ahhh older sister’s light bulb flashed, “so la la land didn’t mean you were going to bed” brilliant deduction Watson, La La Land has to be another movie.

These generation gaps, can be hard on the communication system.

So YaBaDab-a-do to you dear friends… we start another day!  Hur-Ray!  And what a day, freezing rain, on first back to work day for many of the Federal and Provincial government employees over the slippery roads we go.. hi ho hi ho hi ho

looking back

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

It really was just another day on the road.  We stopped, and I got this feeling that we were being watched.  You cannot see in this picture, but in the darkness of the woodlands, was a deer checking us out….  well ok, I can’t say for sure it was a deer, but it had four legs, and piercing eyes.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I tried for another look, at that time I was using a digital Minolta, I confess that I am not a stealthy hunter when I cross over brush and fallen logs to get a closer look.  At the time, I didn’t know about  phone cameras where I could see what I was stalking.  It is in clearing an area on a shelf for a new acquisition ( an airplane clock) that I found the delinquent disk, with pictures from “another time”- labelled Bancroft.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

From the pictures of the interior of the darkened woodland, I see I was determined .. and was not going to just walk away.  I’m  happy to say that this stubborn streak is still with me, much to the chagrin of others.   Now looking back many years later, what I have to show for this adventure of mine, is pictures of a forest woodland that held on to its mystery and mystic, why share the pictures, it’s a case of you had to be there… really there to appreciate the moment. =^_^=

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA  – gone gone gone, replaced many moons ago.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I have no idea what this last picture is all about, but decided to include it since there is so much black in the other pictures.  As a photographer, you have to accept that some of your artist captures, are not always, A1, but for sure, they all capture that moment in time, when you thought Ah Ha….

some one, or some thing

watched in the shadow of the trees

drawn to the feeling of being watched

I let myself be captured by the slight movement of the leaves

as always when totally caught up in the moment

my heart did a little dance

my sense of awareness went into over drive

would we connect

would my lens find its mark

no matter, I had to pursue my  need

to capture what I couldn’t really see

this adrenalin is pure, it comes from within

the artist in me is alert

for in a nano second, I’ll press connect

to the instrument in my hands

the moment passes, the thrill happened

will the climax be complete

when I look at the

picture on the screen

no matter what

I lived the moment

and the picture

that I will see

will be

a forever reminder

that in that second

I was part of life

in that space and time

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Do you believe that you are always connected to the Universe, and that, there are times, you are drawn to produce, or create something, because it just feels right..?  I believe that we are all artists in our own way, sometimes, what we do, is clear, the picture, a “master piece”  It conveys something to the artist and the viewers alike.  Other times, it is a reflection of a moment that came and went.  No more, no less.

Transformation –

As an artist I really believe in expression, self-expression, and how it affects our lives, in what we do and say. This clip from youtube.com arrived in my mail this morning, and I really thought …. wow… I’d like to share this.  The artist Glen Keane explains how his Christian beliefs influenced his animation of the Beast’s transformation in the movie, Beauty and the Beast.

There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t evolve and change. Sometimes the changes are subtle, and other times they are over powering and we feel the experience down to the tips of our toes. For me I long for quiet, caring love that is beautiful and serene. Gentle expressions to and from friends and actually anyone that I meet or come across in my day.  Honesty, and purity of heart.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sometimes, I feel like I’m on the inside looking out… and other times, I’m walking in the rain, or through the sunshine, with the love of God all around me, rushing through my blood stream, I’m alive with the wonder of it all. Powerful.

Then there are the days when I can barely motivate myself to get washed up and changed into -hello world- clothes.  The sun can be shining, and God with me still, but, I know I have to chill… I personally have to take a day off.. to do whatever comes my way, but not having to decide one way or another.

This is all part and parcel of everyday living, moving from one day to another. We all every single one of us, has these moments.

The journey of spiritual transformation is man-made, yup.. choices we make, chart our journey, step by step, minute by minute.

The creativity of man with Nature

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of sharing with you the ingenuity of the people in India  who worked with nature to solve a problem they were having.  Transformation ..  following text was taken from Pinterest by techeblog.com

In the wettest place on Earth, the village of Mawsynram in Meghalaya, India are some of the most fascinating bridges you’ll ever see. These “living bridges” are formed by locals who have trained the roots of rubber trees to grow into natural bridges. They are sturdy enough to far outlast man-made wooden structure bridges. Because of the relentless rain in Meghalaya’s jungles, wooden structures would rot away. These root bridges are self-strengthening, becoming more sturdy

Sometimes I like to share with you moments that are special, and work done by other creative artists. This is such a time. We may not get to some of the wonderful vistas I share with you, but the amazing artists who took the pictures, created the music or made the videos are people who  I am eternally grateful to … They bring me  parts of the world I would  never likely see on my own.

And YOU dear reader are part of my life, my dreams, and my adventure.

Share the Joy

bf0d38b92f3d675af704ae8128bca981

I looked outside my kitchen window today and thought, wow there is a rabbit in the backyard. When I looked again, I saw that it was the way the leaves were showing against the snow and not a rabbit at all.  Interesting how the mind can take an image and rearrange it in your brain.

Seeing a rabbit, even though it really wasn’t there, brought a smile, and a happy feeling.  I thought of all the furry little wonders that friends  have posted, that led me to think of the friends themselves and my sister who loves rabbits and that in turn made me feel even happier.  Joy can come from anywhere at anytime, recognize it, and appreciate the moment.

A rabbit sees a treat and checks it out.  Someone captured the moment, they managed a picture..and.. their sharing in turn brought a smile to others. that is what  sharing joy is all about.  When we are happy/ and smile it is contagious, pass it on.

Sorry my sense of humour at times has flaws.. but I thought that the person in the Nederlands had a moment of creativity here.  This picture got a chuckle from me.. and a kudos to the artist for doing something other than a snowman.

Mosaics

rabbit mosaic by Doreen A Smaligirl

White Rabbit 1-b by Doreen A Smaltigirl on Flickr.

Mosaics – how time-consuming a real work of love.  Not something I would attempt. Nor do I always feel an appreciation for the craft.  Seeing this piece on a rabbit running, looking at his time piece, reminded me of the Alice in Wonderland story and the Mad Hatter.  To achieve this delightful piece of art, the artist had to first visualize what  he/she wanted to achieve.  The many hours (days, nights, even weeks) would have been spent putting it all together.

So it is for many of the projects we begin in life that are part of our own “make over”.  There isn’t a day goes by where someone I know isn’t doing something  or preparing something for … when???  If I do this now I’ll have time to do XYZ  later.  Its called planning ahead. Me, I no longer maintain that activity in my “top drawer”   I don’t really know when this “habit” changed, somewhere along the way, unconsciously it went down to a “when I get to it” drawer.

This is another craft that requires attention to detail, planning and patience.  I look at this and my mind is in awe of the time and the focus that this artist had to have had to complete this piece.  My kudos to both creators of the works shown in this blog today.  My hat is off to both of you.

My creative level today leans towards scrambled eggs.  I kid you not…

Good Morning Everyone!

shadow dancing

Celebrate the day, put your whole heart and makoto into everything you do (sincerity).  Never regret the choices you make, learn, embrace the moment and step into the next one.  The above picture appears in several places on Pinterest, and a different author of verse is under each one,  So to you dear artist and creator of this moment. I say kudos on a wonderful visual interpretation of life.
