dragon, start of.. 4.30.17

Once upon a time a dragon came to visit.  “Oh” said I, ” what pretty colours you are! ”

“hmmmp” he said, “I’m just passing through”

So, I took a picture of him and posted him on Instagram, I went about my day and didn’t think much more about him.  I was having a “dragon” kind of day, and really wasn’t that interested in what he had to say.

The next day, I was busy with activities that I couldn’t put away.  Today was the day, so I had to be present and social in a “family” kind of way.  By mid day, after guests were gone and I was now back home on my own.  All I could think of was that I wanted to pray.  It was pouring rain, the clouds were bleak and gray, but nothing was going to stand in my way. The quiet, tranquility of the church, the peace of love and community, was drawing me, like a moth to a flame.

Silently I prayed, my words and thoughts, came, they flowed, they flew into the air, the heaviness, the pain, slowly drained away.  PL Precept # 11  Always be with God.

PL Principle #2  I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather.  Rather I will always be creative and will look for short comings in my own thinking and actions,

When I came home, the dragon looked at me and winked.  The brat I thought.  I reached out and with   steady hand, and knowing actions, his friends came to light.

Just like that… the dragon smiled, his friends pranced and I was smitten with their charm.  My grin went from ear to ear… life is good when we believe and trust in God

two pictures one”mind”

black-nite-3-3-17a

Too tired to think, I reach for my brush, then change my mind and take the paint tube itself and simply lay the paint down,  There is no though no reason, or rhyme, my mind takes over, my hands follow directions.

The previous night I felt tired, but I was happy, the colours and my strokes seemed to flow with ease and at a different pace.  I smiled as I posted this picture on Instagram, saying, can you see the face, or what can you see?  I was playful, I slept well.

The top picture was painted when I needed release from the stress of the day, conflict and sadness welled up inside as I faced the reality, yet again, that because you have a sibling, doesn’t mean you have a friend. In fact to feel hatred from someone you’ve known a life-time is really a very sad and hurtful  moment.

We can choose our friends, but not family.  We can walk away, we can close the door, disrespect and uncontrolled hatred that sounds in loud decibel at and around you.. is like walking into a war zone without protection. I choose to turn and walk away.

We all make choices, self-preservation is high on my list. I choose love, happiness = GOD.  With GOD in my life, I will work at being a better person.

Thank you to all of you who worry and call me, I’m fine, life is what it is.. God willing Mother will transfer over to a peaceful place, no more pain.. freedom will be hers. She had a long and happy life, she knows her family loves her, and that is everything.  Knowing you are loved, and God is with you.

being true

skyline-march-2-17

Being true to one’s self – and trying to fit in to what the traditions and customs of others might be, can be a challenge.  A simple conversation between son and parent can be very enlightening.  Whether we are aware of it or not, what we say, how we say it can impact on someone else, and we may never know just how that conversation will play out over the years.  It is when one day you are chatting and the off spring says something, that resonates with you.  You react to the statement, and of course, the two of you are sympatico, you agree on the pronouncement… however, the delivery of same is coming back at you or to you in a manner that is not what you would have thought the way it could have been expressed. (“my” reaction)

Honesty IS very important, and expressing One’s true feelings and thoughts IS what is taught, but some how another important ingredient has to come into the mix. Awareness of the feelings of others, and that not everyone deals with life the way we do.

A dear friend that I share the “passion” for creativity with saw my  picture (shown above) I don’t usually name my expressions, because I find that when I do, it confines it to MY thoughts at the moment.. and limits its potential.  I could pick it up and work on it again, altho’ I seldom do that.. except I am learning.. this technique, requires working in stages because I prefer to let the medium dry on its own.  I digress.. this is not a how to on painting, when “possum” saw it, she came back with…  is this about the 7 new planets that have been discovered….   totally foreign to me, never crossed my mind, but her words, were like WOW..    oh I like… she gave me a totally different perspective with her simple “reaction” to my post to her.

All of a sudden, my expression took on new life for me.. and now when I look at it, I wonder where it came from… who did that, and what were they thinking when they did it..

A gift we all have, is the ability to communicate with others… how we interact, and how we accept, retain, and use the constant flow of information and ideas… is a wonderful, complex and amazing part of life.

We are each and every one of us, unique in our own way, appreciate and learn from the information that comes our way, and always, do your best to maintain a positive outlook.

Life is beautiful, and so are YOU.

Thursday Doors 2.2.17

1-30-17-leitrum-at-bank

I’ve always enjoyed driving by this building, on this particular day, I was drawn to it, the sky behind, the sprinkle of snow…. it was eye-catching.  It has a practical use I’m sure, never-the-less it was “king for the day” in my day of photo possibilities.

A moment in time capture in a lens, without the surrounding buildings, or traffic on the roads, it could be on a desolate patch of land, in an abandoned airport..  Loved it.. Hope you find it stirs your imaginations too.

Happy Thursday everyone… PL Precept # 2  To Live is to Express One’s Self

Happiness is when a group of people come together to combine their talents to bring smiles to the audience, young and old.

The Perfect Liberty Kappa-Za work tirelessly, and diligently to bring the “Way” of Perfect Liberty to everyone.

Let us also put “Makoto” (sincerity) into everything we do.  Make every second count.

no words needed

Not one person walked by this car without whipping out their phones to take a picture. I did wait awhile to see if the owner would come out.  But no, so I captured a few myself and left the area.  There was a whole theme on the top too.  It would have been hard to get a picture without the other getting another person in the picture.  That is how much attention this car was getting.

The hours, the attention to detail, this was  a dedicated passion. That edging is coins, pennies, dimes and nickles.  There was something to see, everywhere you looked. Kudos to the owner of the car, that is what I call, personal expression!

=^_^=  What will you do today to make someone smile….

shades of white

white-banksia-rose-flowers-1s white against a back ground of green

what a lovely picture you’ll see

the fragrance of a flower in bloom

will  touch your senses

with a magical sensory tune

cloud-and-sky

white against a sky of blue

a sigh will escape your lips

as you dream of a place

under tropical skies and

lazy sun drenched afternoons

img_0332

yet white against a sky of gray

can make for a very dull day

the white is still white

but we see it in a totally different way

think about it

how many times

have you looked at someone in a different way

only because

their background

coloured your way of seeing them

img_0158

my sister painted me a hobbit house

sometimes, I think

yeah, this is where I want to stay

lost in a meadow of sheep

where I can while away the day

and at night, turn in for

a fitful sleep.

everyone needs a place to stay

when they need time

away

from a world that can in disarray
