PL Day 15 Being Attentive makes life more enjoyable
Live life paying careful attention to every detail, be it big or small. By doing so, you will be able to experience the subtle joy in things.
Had I been paying careful attention at the time I put this picture in my family folder, I would have noted who sent it to me, and where they were at the time =<>=
That said, isn’t this just the most magnificent of artistry.
Be at peace with the world today.
Don’t Strain, Don’t Rush, and Don’t be Greedy
When you are doing something, my may rush things to get good results quickly. Instead relax and enjoy the process (PL, Perfect Liberty)
Remember this from yesterday. I loved the simplicity of it, I wanted to do it. To make it easier on myself, I asked the minister’s wife if she could please show me how to do it. Being a visual person, I do better when I see something done (when it is totally foreign to me and origami is) Her patience at folding the paper, and refolding to ensure that I was seeing where I had to turn the paper, how to fold a crease etc. was calming.
I didn’t know that I was so hesitant to do it wrong, that I wouldn’t even try until I saw her do it. The she patiently led me through the steps, one by one.
Me, “miss get it done” was learning something new, I doubt it is something I will ever excel in, but I did it. I have an artistic bent as you all know. The mediums I do best in, are media that work WITH me, for example, my “style” of work, and my need to watch the process develop (I am getting better) finds me working with acrylic and water paints. Oils and I have not clicked over the years. Yet I do work with mediums that require over night drying…I’ve never taken to oils.
This lesson has a lot to “say” to me. I know that I will do my best to apply myself to practicing the wisdom in this lesson.
I will do my best.. that is all any of us can do.
Have a good day everyone.. LOVE and Blessings.
February in South Africa and the Jackass Penguins are enjoying a day on the beach. Isn’t that always the way, someone is enjoying sunshine while we are experiencing gray skies and rain. No matter, what is important that in our day-to-day living, no matter the weather, or situation, we do our best.
PL Calendar #16 Don’t hold anything back; Give it your all
“Always approach things with full enthusiasm and energy. Then, things will develop in a new direction.
Every day is a new day, a new canvas, a new beginning. Let us celebrate today, share a smile, wave hello, and send love!
Hey, how was your day? Decided to drop in to the Diabetes Fund raiser in Second Life. It is a good cause, of course since I was there, I felt I should look around. Found myself a fun costume.
I wasn’t ready to do a lot, change worry about hair style etc. so you can see, I chose accordingly, the virtual world, is no different from our day-to-day, we still have to deal with choices.
My ribs are showing. You can’t see how hard I had to resist having one of the special Halloween cupcakes I got for hubby. LOL it was hard, but knowing I had just committed to not having dessert for a month, and I mean JUST…. I settled for the plastic spiders on the icing.
I actually took up needle and thread today, instead of applying more bond, or glue to the fabric piece I was working on. I sewed the part of the roof that had not bonded properly to the background material
Now I’m at a dance with some fab music happening while I am busy sharing time with you. Multi-tasking at its best. You can see my avatar is dancing behind Nick, he and his wife Mel are dressed in identical outfits. They are rather clever. The party is just getting underway. Will go and be social. Meanwhile, we are ending October, tomorrow we start into a very busy month… some time soon we hope to here when the operations will be. I do know that we already have a lot of medical appointments set up for November.
Please understand if I am not as regular with my posts…. I will do my best, because sharing time with you all, is good for me. Over the years, you have all inspired me at some time or another. I love the connection we share. You are all the best!!!
Here is looking at you… “wink”
Happiness after a hard-fought game. Sorry Ottawa, but, Yay Penguins. Sid you are the best! born in Halifax, Canada, he is an amazing player, all round professional who earns the accolades he gets.
Somewhere along the way, I became a den mother to three dolls. I wouldn’t swear to it, but I think Tanya* had something to do with it. I went from finding a doll that kinda reached out to me, to have two more who like being dressed and combed. Do you think this has anything to do with as a parent I was a Mother to a very talented young boy, who grew up to be a gem of a son.
I was part of a group of artistic souls who made one of a kind dolls. We scoffed at the ladies who played dress up with the young dolls as shown above. Preferring our out of the box, one of a kind creations. One should never say never, we simply do not know what lies ahead for us. Or how we end up somewhere we had no idea that it was a direction we were going.
The small cloth doll you see, in the middle is one I made when I was sewing and felting,I was trying to combine the fibre for felting with scrap material I had. My own version of a rag doll.
Salmon pasta salad made with fresh vegetables. Red sockeye salmon, tad mayo, and dash of Himalayan salt. Tempting me to go have my dinner.
Happy week-end to everyone, a long week-end to my American friends, and a busy walk/run week-end here in Ottawa, lots of events going on…
Oyashikiri – Blessings !
