what to do?

What to do when your day starts with a “bang” (unpleasant one) and then more or less continues on in similar fashion. During the 10 a.m service today, (Day of Peace) I found myself crying thinking of what happened early before I got to the church.

The dog got his tail chopped off by a closing door. My precious baby.. yelped, then I saw the piece of tail on the floor and the trail of blood as he escaped into the house. Such misery, such helplessness.. I could only react. Meanwhile his sister who is white, was now looking like a red dalmatian and blood was everywhere, on me and on the carpets. Didn’t matter all I wanted to do was pick him up and hold him to me… of course that did wonders for my outfit. When I finally got to church, I realized that I still had blood on me, and my clothes. What a sight.

Fortunately the vet made a house call. I was so relieved. We are all resting comfortably, the human will be taking to her bed very early. Oh dear, just remembered have to check on the laundry. Used cold water. back.. looks like all the stains came out. ahh sigh.

During all of today’s “activities”, I picked up the memory candle from the Funeral home, isn’t it pretty, there is a small compartment that is sealed under it. During the service, the candle is lit. I had never seen these before. I am comforted that it is home with me now.

Life is what it is. I need to slow down, and let my journey set the pace for peaceful healing.

Barbies 2.11.18 Always in for a challenge. I picked up two Barbies today, one had articulating arms the other articulating legs. I wanted the one doll to have the articulating limbs.

Barbies c 2.11.18 Did I know what I was doing? The simple answer is ..No..

Hmmm. thought to find something on YouTube. It could be there but so far, I have not found what I am looking for. Meanwhile, I now have two dismembered dolls. I did enjoy the exercise. However, I will have to put the parts away now till I find out what I need to do, from what I have seen so far, the gals who show restoration of Barbie type dolls, simply switch heads..

But then, they still have a doll that doesn’t articulate the way I want.. you get either the arms or the legs. Either or. I’ll just have to do some more research. Anyone out there, rebuilt a Barbie type doll?

I think that I am left with pieces that may not be re-useable. tsk tsk tsk.

If you never try something, you will never learn. Life is about learning, I will keep you posted. Tomorrow will be a brand new day. Here is wishing you all a smashing invigorating start to a new week. Keep it all together. =^_^= “rock on”

Sometimes we want to rest

we do our best to make the time

only you find yourself

being watched with expectation

just to make sure you understand

that your taking a break, is NOT

what you should be doing

I did my best to ignore the pair

however their persistence

was not to be ignored

dog noses are very cold

being stared at is not really

a soothing lullaby

all is not lost

I did find two cars for my

“play car” collection =^_^=

I started a card

the beaver has a chewed ear,

I did find two maple leaves

then suffered a kind of writer’s block

so except for hello

that’s it for the day

my Mother is 95, legally blind and hard of hearing

yet here she is doing what she does best,

living each day, getting the best out of whatever opportunity

comes her way

In this case she is looking at a smart phone to catch up

on recent pictures.

my sister who is trying to catch a glimpse is now in Iceland

where she will be surrounded by

happy people, celebrating the win today against England (soccer)

here .. my addiction…

cold, very cold, ice coffee with a side glass

of ice water..

We walk past a door (opportunity)…. or we seize the moment.

When we are calm we reflect that quiet serenity

I love this picture, like, WoW, these mountain goats are climbing a near vertical wall. I found it on a site, that just now when I went back to reference it again, the page was gone, or not available to me. We speak of reflection, perception, to the photographer who took this picture, I say kuddos for your patience and ability to do this capture. My musing is, in Nature, the animal does what is instinctively right, …. need to get to point X, hmmm what is the best way, oh yes, this way, and simply goes about doing it.

The mind, I can speak for mine will often prevent me from doing something, because I think about it too much.

Open Up

Opportunities don’t always come and knock on the door,

Usually, they present themselves as a challenge.

Today was the church garage sale, we do one, once and sometimes twice a year

As I watched people arrive, park and saunter over to the tables, I wished I had .. more time to say Hello, Hi!, So nice that you could drop by…..

But of course, there was little time for anything but to keep putting stuff out and answering the many questions being asked by the eager early arrivals.

Church staff were kept busy, putting stuff out, or helping with things being purchased. There was a steady stream of new arrivals.
here are several reasons our church does a garage sale, and yes it is to raise money for the church… but it is also to meet the many people who drop in to visit us each year, and to get acquainted with them

What I realized today, was that the opportunity was there, but the reality was, we were not staffed to properly achieve the part about.. getting reacquainted having time to actually visit and say hello to the visitor who dropped in.

So… did we really accomplish what we set out to do? The opening our doors to say Hello and meet new people… That was/is an important part of our intended goal. Sometimes even when we are proactive, it isn’t till we actually play out the steps that we have scheduled and planned, that we are able to see the discrepancies.

hmmm time to rethink, how to “open up”

gone fishing

Gone Fishing

Does that expression mean anything to you? In days gone by, “Gone Fishing” meant just that, someone had put a shingle outside their business and had taken time to go fishing.

Going on a holiday, the phrase would signify that the person was taking time to get away from the city, their 9 – 5 routine was going to be on hold… they were “going fishing”. Family was packed up and away they headed for a seaside vacation, time at the lake, river, anywhere but in the city.

My son goes fishing, once the season starts, he puts a kayak on his car and off he goes, he will fish whenever he has the time to get away. No he doesn’t live in a small town, or out in the country, he lives in downtown “Big City” It his way of finding his quiet time, he dedicates his time to making time for something that brings him an inner quiet to recharge his batteries to tend to his day-to-day challenges/opportunities.

Opportunities don’t always just happen, we have to be proactive in working towards our goals,to ensure we remain, spiritually healthy.

enthusiasm – opportunities

This is the Aqua dome hotel in Austria, don’t know about you, but I find it very inviting. Today I watched people jumping into cold water where the ice had been chopped away for the annual polar bear dip (fund-raiser) we are not talking one or two people, there was a large gathering. All for a good cause, they put on their swim trunks and other festive costumes to jump into the freezing water while a crowd gather to watch the antics. Weather here was below freezing at the time of day they took the plunge.

I have since learned that this is not uncommon .. the above was the picture of the day 7 December 2012 (Telegraph.co.uk), a winter swimmer drove into freezing waters, Beijing Lake in Shenyang China.

The Huffington Post, posted this picture along with a story on how in an effort to help a family in Missouri, thousands across the country took a dive into freezing waters across the USA. What kind of determination and hardiness does it take to prompt a person to take this challenge? In our daily lives we might not take such extreme actions, but we do have to gather our inner strength to tackle some of the difficulties/problems that drop in on us.

This is more “me” – a Japanese Snow monkey settles in to a hot spring (Jigokudani,Nagano, Japan) for a warm soothing lazy laid back, meditation, (private time).. The enthusiasm in which we tackle our challenges, can often lead to opportunities that bring about positive results into our lives. Especially when we put our whole effort (Makoto=sincerity) into our actions.

A day of activity leaves us tuckered out and ready for a good sleep, especially when we have applied ourselves to the day’s events, living each moment to the fullest….when we finally find that quiet patch, we can easily lie down and effortlessly sleep.
