Enjoy Life!

Enjoy Life!

Enjoy your friends, be playful, listen to music that “speaks” to you, & has you “groovin”  What were some of the fun things you wanted to do when you were younger? Have you done them?  You still wanting to explore the possibilities?
Do you allow your creativity to speak, or do you try to mold it into what you think will sell, or be appreciated by others?
Take time today to count your blessings.
Listen or look at what you are producing now, does it give you goose bumps?
Does your creative work bring you joy?  Are the results, soul satisfying?

In PL, one day a month, we come together to celebrate our blessings, we call the celebration  Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is on the 21st of each month.
If you are in the area, please join us.
We are all artist in life, all thing come to fruition when the heart and the object (form) are in accord with one another

PL Precept #2    To Live Is to Express One’s Self..

When listening not with the ear, but with the spirit, one perceives subtle sounds.  The deepest sound is silence. (Dao)

Equal billing!

Equal billing!

Fair is Fair, a dog one day, a cat the next. News travels fast in the animal kingdom. LOL They have abilities we don’t.

Good Saturday to you!
A week-end, oh what to do.=^_^= I know what is on my agenda, Rev Eugene and his family have finally arrived! I hope you all have a great day. If you are well into your day, I hope that so far it has been a rousing success.

Remember that every moment of every day is a new possibility, make it count!

PL Precept #1    LIFE IS ART

Reminder – Tomorrow 21st.  PL teaches that the surest way to be blessed is to appreciate all the blessings we have received. Through our participation in the Thanksgiving Service every month, Oshieoya-sama gives us a practical way to perform this teaching.

Blessings everyone! Be Happy!

Have a Good Balance Between Mind and Body

Have a Good Balance Between Mind and Body

PL teaching for day #20
> Have a Good Balance Between Mind and Body…………..Being overly concerned ab out things, or overexerting yourself physically will cause you to be off balance mentally and physically. Be careful not to overdo things.

I read an article today by Geri Larkin, founder of the Still Point Zen Buddhist Temple in Detroit, Fashionista as Monk.  It was in the March/April 2012 issue of Spirituality & Health, if you can find it, it is a good read. Probably more for the women then the men, however, it applies to both if you’ve ever shopped and found that you are one size larger than you thought you should be.  After reading her fun thought provoking piece, I know that I will be more mindful of not what I eat, but of how much I eat.  I’m already a conscientious eater, my problem is quantity. Today’s  lesson today will be applied to my eating habits.

This teaching comes up every month on the 20th.  And every month, it has a different meaning for me.  Time to remember and put into practice, PL Principle 13.  Concerning food, I will not have complaints, likes and dislikes nor preferences; nor will I overeat, over drink nor eat irregularly.

PL Principle # 15   I will not do anything overly.

A balanced life, takes into account, all our needs.  Lets take a moment to reflect on how balanced our personal scales are.  For myself, I will work harder towards achieving balance

Plan B

Plan B

What started out this lovely coastal blue with white contrast , turned a dull unbecoming drab blue when I photographed it.  Will have another go with the camera later, here it is after some” photo shop”.  Purple is a spiritual colour, so I’m happy with the digital changes till next time I get to play =^_^=

PL teaching – Challenge yourself, when you encounter a new situation, something unexpected, be creative.

Medium – acryrlic paint and a product called Kroma crackle
on 4″ diameter card stock

Dealing with the unexpected is what keeps life interesting!
I’m still having a great day, are you? sure hope so.  =^_^=

Good Morning – C’est vendredi ! (Friday)

Good Morning - C'est vendredi ! (Friday)

Hey, are you having a good day? I sure hope so. I dug back through my files, thought a nice winter scene might cool some of us down. Take a moment with me to close your eyes and think of the prettiest winter scene you’ve come across. Let a smile come, let it form on your lips and into your eyes. Feel it. ahhhhh so so nice. Slowly open your eyes keeping that smile in place….OH! Joy to the world !!!

Good Morning everyone. Let my love for you, stay with you and keep you safe.

Blessings

Greetings Wednesday 17th – hola!

Greetings Wednesday 17th - hola!

Good Morning…. How are you today? Wish you could see the big smile on my face. Yesterday when I was cleaning up, tossing and packing things away for the church garage sale in the fall, I realized that I had not seen my prayer beads in awhile.
*#@ panic!! what happened to my beads. I have been collecting and holding them close for a lifetime. I was reacting, when suddenly I caught glimpse of the Omitama (a PL prayer symbol blessed by Oshieoya-sama,) Mine sits high on the mantel in the “gathering room”

I stilled the desire to run around searching, sat myself down and closed my eyes and “let go” of the anxiety. As my run away mind began to settle down, and I felt the calm of the quiet begin to wrap gently around me, I remembered I  had put them away last time I cleaned up so they would be safe. Soft sigh, I knew where they were. =^_^=

Do you have prayer beads, do you use prayer beads in your practice? Something to consider. Prayer beads come in many colors, sizes and combinations, Lois Sherr Dubin in her book “ The History of Beads from 30,000B.C. to the present ” tells us “It is perhaps through the use of rosaries, circlets of prayer beads, that people have achieved their most profound and complete relationship with beads”

Have a grand day everyone, remember today’s PL lesson, Always Challenge Yourself with New Things.

Blessings

Letting Go

Letting Go I will be leaving soon for Japan, finally, the time is drawing near. Next week. I will be leaving all my electronic gadgets at home and boarding a plane for an island far away, one that I have only read about or seen on travel shows. I know that this trip will change my life forever. It is a trip I have waited for, for a very long time. 1. Rensei training, PL’s unique spiritual, mental and physical training, conducted only at the PL Holy Land. By participating in this specially blessed training, one’s state of mind can be purified and we can embody the PL teachings.  2. I will be there for the annual Founders’ Day Ceremony, a power packed event that ends with an hour long display of the world’s greatest fireworks “The Art of PL Fireworks” I am being asked so many questions from friends and family. Will I take pictures, will I sight see, will I shop? Nothing is further from my mind. In preparation I have been meditating, and praying not only to try to prepare for this experience, but to accept the Letting Go of the part of “me” that will not be coming back. Daily I’ve been cleaning out, & paring down of material possessions.  With each piece I pass along, the more the physical space becomes uncluttered,, the more serene I become. PL teaching day 17..Always Challenge Yourself With New things... Life is interesting because we always encounter unknown or new situations that we have never experienced before. Proactively challenge each new situation. Meanwhile, our new Sr. Minister (Rev. Eugene) arrives this week, we will meet Saturday for a special ceremony, and Sunday the 21st we will all celebrate Thanksgiving together.  The PL community will gather to meet and greet. Please if you are in the area, you know that you are welcome to attend.  Contact information can be had from our web page.  Rev. Goto will now be based out of New York. He will continue from there to be available to anyone  wanting information on PL     Rev. Tiago our resident minister is also available to assist you in Portuguese, Spanish,French,or English. Blessings.  Good Night everyone!

It is Tuesday – Good Morning -Bom dia – Bonjour

It is Tuesday - Good Morning -Bom dia - Bonour

I’m a morning person, I love waking up to another day, I can accomplish so much in the morning. LOL I know that for others the mornings can be a little more elusive.  Remember the expression,” the early bird gets the worm”?   Is that  still used today =^_^=
Today will be another day of very hot humid temperatures,I thought I’d show you a little hide-a-way that the birds and shade loving visitors like to find in our front garden.  Our dogs will be walked before the heat builds up on the city pavements.

What are you doing today?  Did you have a good night’s sleep? Sleep is so very important to our well being.

My morning prayer grounds me and gets me going.
My evening prayer wraps up my day and nudges me gently on my way.  When for some reason I miss an evening prayer/meditation, sleep may come, but my nocturnal journeys are not the same.

In PL Oshieoya-sama teaches us that in order for us to express our true selves for happiness and the happiness of others, it is important that we live with true faith in God/Universe and pray to the Divine Mother in our daily lives  (God/ Universe/Divine Mother, all ONE)

Have a great day doing whatever you are doing. You are in my prayers always. Blessings!
