Life is

Iife is

Yesterday I was jolted out of my musings by an artist(Seth Apter) I was unfamiliar with. I had received an e-mail about 3 days of workshops with him in the fall. Attending workshops is not something I am apt to do, but I am a regular at this particular store, and have found that the owner there, keeps up with the latest in the mixed media news.  The store is a treasure for art/craft supplies.

I was sufficiently motivated, that I dressed and headed out the door in search of a stamp that he had used, and to research his embossing powders.  My first stop was about 50-60 miles from my place.  Heading out towards Montreal I suddenly realized that on my left in the lanes coming into the city,  were not a few dozen but miles of cars bumper to bumper inching their way into the city.  Commuters, people who live on the edges of the city trying to get to work,

It was jaw dropping to see so many people patiently making their way west.  As far as the eye could see, coming along the major roadways every vehicle one can imagine.  I am retired, and know to leave my house after the “rush hour”  It was somewhere between 8:30 and 9.  I gave thanks right there and then, that I am now in a different phase of “life”. It was very appropriate when I saw this little sign in the Dollar Tree, when I dropped in.

Please dear reader, if you, like I, have the freedom to explore, discover and live a less structured day to day.  Say a prayer of appreciation today, thank the Universe for your life as it is now, and include prayers of support and energy for those who live along beside us, coping and dealing with the phases in their lives that is their “moment in time”

Good day, Bom dia, Goedendag

abandoned 2The start of another work week, you find yourself doing the same drive, at the same pace, and really not getting anywhere fast.

Is today, another day, or is it like yesterday, ho hum, if you turn the radio on, already they’ll be playing songs that are all about snow and Xmas themes.

Did you bring your thermos of coffee/tea?  What is it that is keeping the traffic at such a slow pace.

You realize no matter how you fret, or how you moan and groan, it is simply going to happen the same way every day, unless you change your pattern.

Maybe go a different route,it could be a bit of a round about way, but the scenery will be different, and hey

since the traffic is not all going the same way, lane after lane, just maybe

you’ll get to work on time,  bonus, you’ll have time to leisurely make your way to your desk

habits and patterns are hard to break

we do get attached, some of us .. no matter how long it takes us, we are determined to take that fast lane with every other driver headed into the city

Try doing something different today, just for fun, see if you can do it… with a happy start it can be done,

when we take the challenge to do something different, we are often surprised at just how easy it becomes to find that doing something new, is rewarding.  Letting go of tired and old habits, can and will leads us to a whole new way of seeing life.   New experiences, new people, and new adventures.

When we follow our dreams, and walk unknown roads, we grow, we are happier, the seeds we sow, will reap rewards.

Ahhhh don’t we wish it could be so, idyllic fresh fallen snow, the crisp country air and evergreens looking like sugar-coated fantasy trees in a Disney movie.

This was a picture found on social media after the big storm in the Buffalo area. (Yahoo  news)  Somewhere between the two lies the different realities of a winter day in the part of the world that enjoy the wonders of nature’s four seasons.

Sadly even those who know that winter comes every year, and have been how to drive in snow, forget or choose to  do it “their own way”  Often drivers have not even prepared their cars for winter driving.

This picture was taken of a snow-covered street in Tokyo  during a heavy snowfall.   Remember the stalled vehicles in Kansas City in 2013.

We are not all in positions where we can avoid being out when Mother Nature gives full expression to her capabilities, however, as in all situations in life, if we are prepared, and focused on what we are doing, challenges are always easier to deal with.  When we deal with situations out of our control in creative ways, ingenuity lights the way,

Believe you can do it.  And know without a doubt, that God/Tao  will see you through. (picture of a commuter during a bad storm in London in January 1988) – below is a picture taken Dec.13.2013  of snow in Egypt, the first time in 112 years.
