My first encounter with an ermine (weasel)… what a high. A woman came running up behind me asking me where it went, (it had been following me).. I had no idea what she was talking about. Then I saw it.. wow. I was carrying peanuts for the feeders.. so I had squirrels and birds hanging out waiting for me. The ermine was hiding behind me as I walked into the area. Smart.
We are all wonderful in our own way. Although results are important your effort is what is truly precious.

Like many these days, I sometimes struggle at the restrictions and how they have changed my day to day.. but when I have encounters like I did today… I have to say.. I feel blessed.. I am truly amazed at how much there is in this world that is right there, just waiting to be discovered. Had that woman not seen the little critter, and spoken to me, I likely would not have seen it at all. It blended right into the snow. She told me she has been years trying to get a picture (she had a honking big camera with her) seems altho’ she’s had sightings, its never been the right time. Now that I’m seen one, I wonder if I will get another chance. =^_^= She was happy that I got to see it, I’m told they are not always very visible. It was a happy moment shared with a total strangers.. A genuine FEEL GOOD!

I think not.. it is a meat eater… can eat 3x even 4 x its size and weight.. it kills. but I was feeding squirrels and birds.. so there was a lot of possibilities around. After seeing its teeth in that picture, I was glad to be wearing winter boots. =^_^=
I think you may be a little bit much for the ermine but keep your boots on.

That’s really neat! And yes, they are carnivores, so much for the big teeth! Someone told me they saw one from the chairlift years ago. I’ve been watching for one ever since, but no luck so far.
I have always found ferrets so cute, and this is sort of like a ferret, maybe same family?? but after reading how they can kill and are not good at being tamed.. I will admire from a distance thank you. Hey! Happy first day of the new year!!
