not so cute when on the hunt – pic from web

My first encounter with an ermine (weasel)… what a high. A woman came running up behind me asking me where it went, (it had been following me).. I had no idea what she was talking about. Then I saw it.. wow. I was carrying peanuts for the feeders.. so I had squirrels and birds hanging out waiting for me. The ermine was hiding behind me as I walked into the area. Smart.

We are all wonderful in our own way. Although results are important your effort is what is truly precious.

Perfect Liberty 2021.13

Like many these days, I sometimes struggle at the restrictions and how they have changed my day to day.. but when I have encounters like I did today… I have to say.. I feel blessed.. I am truly amazed at how much there is in this world that is right there, just waiting to be discovered. Had that woman not seen the little critter, and spoken to me, I likely would not have seen it at all. It blended right into the snow. She told me she has been years trying to get a picture (she had a honking big camera with her) seems altho’ she’s had sightings, its never been the right time. Now that I’m seen one, I wonder if I will get another chance. =^_^= She was happy that I got to see it, I’m told they are not always very visible. It was a happy moment shared with a total strangers.. A genuine FEEL GOOD!

What a great way to start a new year right!!

  4. I’m rather pleased you didn’t take that close-up. 🙂

  5. Cool encounter. I’ve never seem one. Was it after your peanuts? Waves across the miles.

  6. That’s really neat! And yes, they are carnivores, so much for the big teeth! Someone told me they saw one from the chairlift years ago. I’ve been watching for one ever since, but no luck so far.

  7. A white weasel … was it a Democrat, Republican or just lost in space?

  8. What a beautiful creature! And so fierce!
