Under the clear blues skies yesterday…. the tree was full of red wing blackbirds.. by the time I got the camera ready..
BUT, first wild turkeys seen yesterday in the farmer’s field. Yay!

Is that green thing a dumpster?
yes there is always one near the washrooms, which are near the parking area. In the winter they freeze, I used a rubber mallet to get them open. I’ve got most of the feeders down now for the season. They won’t go up again till late October… or when the weather starts to turn cold towards our winter weather. Good catch.. is that what yours look like? They are bear and raccoon proof.
We don’t have dumpsters here because living rurally, there is no trash service. We all take our trash and recycling to the town transfer station. 🙂
ahh in rural areas that would happen, but this is conservation land, and we have a of it in the City area, in and around… they have private contractors that go around to the many many parks, and conservation areas owned by the NCC. (National Capital Commission) for example the country road leading to this one area, is cleared by the city of Ottawa road mtce. crew. the Parking lots are cleared by another contract, and the waste removal and mtce of the out buildings is done by another contractor. AND we have the equiv. of Park Rangers as well, that patrol for security measures, watching for poachers etc.
