Let Go, Let God

My morning mantra.  Since yesterday, I have heard myself whisper, Let Go, Let God.

Skies are a bright blue, the sun is streaming down through the trees throwing a lovely dappled  pattern of shade on the patio. May today be a day filled with richness and blessings to you all.   Smile and the world smiles with you!  Blessings

PL teaching day 18   – The Value of Money and Things Depends on How you Choose to Use Them  -Money and things are materials for your self -expression.  Use them to their fullest for the sake of others and society.

I had to meditate on this one for a long time .. I was trying to decide how best to try to give you my association or thoughts on money.  It has always been my belief that money is a  necessary evil in life.  One needs money to acquire “things” in life.  In today’s society/culture, we often think we “need” a lot more than we actually do.  Permit me to tell you of one of my excursions many years ago with a friend.  We loved to scour garage sales, flea markets, and of course thrift shops.  Not because we couldn’t afford to purchase retail, we both had careers, but my friend like to buy and resell, it was her “hobby” and I was and am a recycle or transforming artist.  I like to find a cast off or unwanted item that “speaks” to me and give it a new life.

We were in a little town that is known for its charm, outdoor cafes, and a couple of great discount shops.  One in particular was a place that sold discounted silver wear and household accessories.  I found a delightful fork there and decided to purchase it.  It wasn’t very expensive, but it was not on sale, it was not silver, but sterling silver, so practical, I enjoyed the  lovely design and feel to it. “Oh you can’t  purchase that fork” exclaimed the sales lady,” we only have one left, and besides it is a dessert fork”.  My friend agreed with the lady that since it was a dessert fork, how much use would it be to me.  Their reaction to my intent of acquiring this delightful fork surprised me,, I had thought of neither of their concerns, I liked the fork, I could afford the fork, therefor, I was going to purchase the fork.  My reply to both of them was that it was a fork and it would get the food to my mouth, that was all it needed to do, it didn’t have to be part of a set, it didn’t have to match anything else I had,   It was a fork, it was functional & one I liked and wanted.

So often we pass on something because of someone else’s view, or thoughts,  and then we spend an enormous amount of time trying to find  something like it because we didn’t act on our first impulse.  Usually our impulses  come from our inner “voice”.  these moments are often little nudges from above.  In PL we learn to #1 hear our inner voice, and #2 listen and think on what it is we are hearing….. it is part of the lesson in believing in one’s Self. Knowing what we want, and acting on it.

Everything originates in God, God/TAO/Universe embraces everything.  We cannot live apart from God regardless of whether we recognize God’s existence or not.  The Maharishi once said, put a tub full of water in the middle of a room, whether or not a person believes it is full or not, when they step into it, they will get  wet. (TM – Transcendental Meditation)

Potential new members should know that PL is non sectarian and does not expect that members give up the faith they already have.  PL teachings can help new members better understand their traditional faiths .. PL believes that  all religions should work together for world peace.

If you are near a PL church, the 21st is our monthly Thanksgiving service.  All our welcome. (for Church of Perfect Liberty contacts, visit our websites, links in side bar)

Always Challenge Yourself With New Things – PL teaching day 17

Life is interesting because we always encounter unknown or new situations that we have never experienced before.  don’t be afraid of failure and proactively challenge each new situation.  Always Challenge Yourself with New Things

When sitting with Rev. Goto today in his office, the rain was falling against the window, giving a steady staccato with various depths of sound as it hit  an overhang and then tumbled downward against the window pane.  It surprised me, and for a second or two it captured my attention.  Then we resumed our conversation, and the musical rain disappeared, my focus was on the  subject matter of our meeting.  My upcoming trip to Japan is a personal challenge for me.  The last time I flew was  several years ago, when I flew into Missoula, Montana.  I vowed I would never travel that distance again, certainly not over mountains in a plane and iffy weather.

That was then and this is now.  I will be in  Japan, (Headquarters Tondabayashi Osaka)  for the annual Founders’ Day Ceremony on August 1.  On this day hundreds of thousands of PL believers from the local churches in Japan, and from distant parts of the world, gather  to appreciate and pray to the First and Second Founders who are still working spiritually for the rapid realization of true world peace.  The ceremony will climax with an hour-long display of the world’s greatest fireworks, “The Art of PL Fireworks”.  How mind-blowing and awesome will that be.

Also on Founder’s Day, August 1, the annual Peace Tower Ceremony is held.  The spirits of all those who have died in war, regardless of race, religion or nationality are enshrined in the altar of the Peace Tower.  In this ceremony we console their spirit and pray for the everlasting peace of mankind.

PL teaching day 16           Let’s Be in Tune With the Times   > We live in a world that is rapidly changing with the times.  Let’s continue to keep up with the evolving trends of society and strive to broaden our horizons. <

My husband and I drove to the other end of the city today to a huge parking lot, to check out the different  kinds of recreational vehicles that were on display. (Motor Homes, trailers, tents and the like)  we were told there were over 600 parked in the numbered lots. Golf carts drove visitors around, and carried refreshments from one end of the event to the other.  At one time, not all that long ago, the whole area was farm land, woodlands &  country fields. We drove out there using the “super highway”, gone were the cows grazing contentedly in the pastures, sheep nibbling their way along a stream, a farmer tending to his crop. Now littered basically every couple of miles is a big super center for shopping. with all the big box stores making their presence known.

This is a popular venue, it is a yearly event.  There were many couples there, all with an eye on what type of caravan would help chase a dream.  A pop up that can be set up near some babbling brook, or along a sandy beach. A motor home that can be driven to a destination that will provide a sun filled winter without snow.  So many possibilities.  While we explored and enjoyed the day, in the end, we came home to our little “nest” in the heart of the city and tucked the information away for another time.  Today is today, enjoy NOW.

Happiness & contentment is a treasured pearl within our own “Selves”  How we tend and cultivate this pearl, is how well we will deal with the changes in the world around us.  The teachings of Perfect Liberty, help us live an Artist Life.  ” The PL 21 Principles are the practical guidelines for our daily lives as PL members.  They assist us in practicing the PL 21 PRECEPTS   The 21 Principles are specific guidelines on how to live the PL WAY (an artistic life) and teach us how to reach a positive state of mind, so that we can express ourselves more harmoniously and joyfully.” (pg 12  PL Members’ Guide)

Perfect Liberty teaching day 15

Saying “Thank You” Creates a Heart to Heart Connection.  If you don’t put your thoughts into words and actions, you will not be able to express how you truly feel.  By expressing your gratitude in words, you can get your feelings across fully.

Sometimes being comfortable with a friend, relative, partner in life, we can forget to say “thank you” after a time, assuming that they know we appreciate them, and what they do for us.  That is taking them for granted.  I love my husband very much, it is impossible to say thank you for all the small things  he does for me/us on a daily basis, but I try as often as I can to let him know just how special he is.  I’ve discovered, that not only does it bring a smile to his face, it pleases me no end, that we’ve shared a heart to heart moment.  Father’s Day is coming soon, it is good that we have put aside one day to celebrate the special man/men in our lives.  However I personally feel that every day should be a day of gratitude and saying ” Thank You” to the special people who touch our hearts.

Saying “Thank You” Creates a Heart to Heart Connection.

Take Care of Things One by One as They Come.  It is the best timing to do something as soon as you notice it.  Take action right away without hesitation.

Page 35 PL Member’s Guide.> “Each one of us has our own unique personality and lifestyle.  Therefore, it is different for each individual how they would practice the true way, or how they would seek happiness.”

Page 23 PL Member’s Guide.>” Life is full of accumulations of small moments.  If we go through life with the illusion that only big, important things need our attention, we are missing opportunities to notice other things in which we should be paying closer attention.  Your life is your very own unique work of art.”

PL teaching for day 13 – God Resides in your Prayerful Mind. In addition to making heartfelt and continuous effort, let’s pray to God. God will surely respond to your Makoto (sincerity)

I would like to share with you a couple of sentences from the chapter Life is Art from our PL member’s guide ” Your Artist Expressions Are what Makes Your Life a Work of Art” . As a living person, you interact with the people and things around in order to express your feelings. your life is shaped by the way you express yourself each and every day. Through your daily artistic expressions, you can create your one and only life.”
I have found since becoming a member of PL that I am soaking in the writings of other members who have put together booklets to help new members understand what the Church of Perfect Liberty is all about. I love sharing our faith -(such sharing is called Shingei) . Each day is a new canvas,  just when I think I couldn’t be happier, I read more of the teachings and “life”: gets even better
.

Thank you for sharing this moment with me. Oshieoya-sama teaches us that the surest way to be blessed is to appreciate all the blessing we have received. Living in Perfect Liberty I feel very blessed.

PL Teaching for day 12.  Don’t let Yourself think “It’s too Hard”  Just Give It a Try.

Always look at things that appear before you with a can do attitude and accomplish your goals with strong conviction.

At the end of July I will head to Japan to continue my training, as the time draws closer, the anticipation is wonderful, my smile broadens.  I will be there for the PL Founders’ Day festival and learn more about this religion that rose from the ashes of war torn Japan (after the dawn of the Nuclear Age). To know more of PL, Church of Perfect Liberty, visit  http://www.perfectliberty.ca  and or http://www.perfectliberty.org

I will be sharing my journey as it unfolds. =^_^=

Blessed be

nonsense you say

All day my mind has been chattering – Buddha, Lao Tzu, Confucius, over and over like a mantra in my head. ” Confucianism, a system of philosophical and ethical teachings founded by the Chinese philosopher Confucius.” (concise Oxford Dictionary) hmmm is this what I should be reading or thinking of in the wee hours when in fact I should be going to bed.  Of course I realize that other “writers” who muse or spend hours in their  “inside chambers” have to contend with such mind babble, but why does it always have to be when one is trying to sleep.  Obviously says little inner  voice, “if you were paying attention, mind wouldn’t need to keep rambling”..

Maybe a toasted tomato sandwich on multi-grain bread is the answer, a search of the kitchen counter shows me that there is no bread, only pita, not quiet the same to the taste buds.  Trust me. Pita and humus, pita and cheese,  pita and taboule but not to replace a toasted tomato sandwich, not tonight anyway.  Even the dog has given up and gone back to bed.

In taking down the dictionary, I came across a little hard cover book on Kuan Yin by Daniela Schenker  accessing the Power of the Divine Feminine , I found this book in one of my wanderings in a book store. It has lovely watercolor images of Kuan Yin accompanied by inspirational contemplations.  I am a Taoist who lives with Perfect Liberty (the teachings of) every day, and had not realized that there was a book about living with Kuan Yin (she is my spiritual guide)  Yet, this book has been here now for some time (maybe years) and I have not really looked at it much, I’ve enjoyed the pictures though.  Would I part with the book – NO – I like having it near, I find that I can pick it up at anytime, read a few lines and feel a connection.

As a student of life, especially Asian traditions, I look back at history, and want to help the practice of  “worship” regain a foothold in modern life.  So often we take for granted the wonders of this world,  Our focus seems to be on the negatives that are happening around us.  Yes it rained off and on all day, but do you see the joy in the fresh young shoots of green that are lifting their little faces to drink in the nourishment falling from the skies.   Do you recall the splashing of little feet in the puddles when you were younger, and the fun of trying to catch the rain drops?

I’ll be going to Japan soon.  My first time ever to leave the North American continent.  I will go for Rensei training.  PL’s spiritual training in the Holy Land Japan.  In 2014  the training will be in the Brazil.  Sensei will be there this year to lead the North American delegates, so I will go to Japan.  I speak neither Japanese or Portuguese so no matter, it will be a totally awesome experience.   hmmm maybe that is why my mind is chattering, I’m excited. ahhhh another light bulb moment.  sigh, now I can turn it off and perhaps get some sleep =^_^=

PL teaching for this day ( 9th)  It’s Interesting Because we all See Things Differently.    Everyone has a different point of view.  Let’s enjoy and appreciate the personalities and the differences we all have.

Thanks for spending some time with me. =^_^=

bear hugs

Letting Go of Your Ego  Will Make you a Stronger Person

“If you are always caught up with power, status or appearances, you will have a hard time accomplishing anything of worth.  Let go and express yourself fully”

How easy it is to fall into the “ego trap”.  We are busy living our lives, tripping through life, when suddenly we are pulled up short by the boot straps, “how on earth did this happen” you’ve walked into a wall, or fallen into a pothole.  That is because somewhere along the way, we began to  believe in or fall into one of the “roles” we seem to be delegated to in life.  Not all the roles we find ourselves in are delegated, some are of our own making.  An ego can be like our very own personal nemesis.  In the church teachings, we learn to “see” and receive help to “let go”

I greet you with love in my heart, and wrap you in a heart felt hug. =^_^=

Blessings be…
