Good Morning Everyone

Your Smile Can Spread Cheer to Those Around You.
A person who is always pleasant and cheerful can spread their joy wherever they go. Always remember to smile.
Today’s teaching on the PL calendar
your Smile Can Spread Cheer to Those Around You.

Awareness of self and the impact others, is just not ” when I have time” or “if only I wasn’t so busy, I would”. Could, should, would,if only, how often do we use these words.
I wake up in the morning, thinking of the beauty in the world / universe, smile and let that smile radiate from head to toe Allow your SELF to feel it in your whole body. For me, this inner glow is healing. I know it shines from my eyes. PL teachings help keep our “smile” healthy and truly happy.
Your Smile Can Spread Cheer to Those Around You.

elation and relief

When I discovered this abandoned old car in the fields today, I thought of how even in the sad state it was in, it was rather appealing.  I thought of how it must have looked when it was new, & how it must have a lot of stories it could tell.  The artist who created this rusted clunker gave it character.  It isn’t just any old car, it is a car that has been detailed to look old, and then lovingly placed in the field so that it creates a picture for the eye to enjoy when  it is first spied. Drawing the viewer down into the field to get a closer look.

In Perfect Liberty one of the teachings is to help the seeker to enjoy not just what is seen, but to appreciate the components that brought the object to our attention.  When teaching I used to show the student a piece of left over 4×4 wood with a nail hammered into it, a screw half screwed in at an angle and a what not of sorts embedded on the other side.  The question to the student would be, “what do you see/feel when you take this object and hold it.  Because of the objects hammered, screwed and embedded it was not easy to hold.  Nor was it pretty.

Often the question left the student perplexed and curious at just what it was I wanted, or expected him/her to tell me.  what I was wanting was exactly what they were giving me, a reason to explain that what we see/feel is not always what is.  The wood, had history, it had begun as a seed many many years ago.  That seed to grow, had first to rot into the soil it was planted or dropped on.  It took many years to grow and in that time, it lived, we can only guess, a great number of lifetimes.  With many changes it eventually was cut down and parts of it became building lumber.  The piece we were holding, was discarded, only to be recycled into a teaching tool.  The nail and screw that now were part of it, they also had undergone many changes to become the objects we were seeing.

As a therapist, I know that visually the body can tell me one thing, but when I actually lay  hands on it, I will discover much much more.  Though the human may  tell me, “I’m fine, no really, there isn’t a problem”   yet my experience, my visual and physical exam will tell me volumes.

The first of the 21 Precepts in Perfect Liberty is LIFE IS ART .  Just that Precept alone, has so many teachings, so much power in it.  Every day we are given the opportunity to live an artistic life.  To look at the blank canvas before us, and to create something beautiful.  Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  When something speaks to you,  stop, look deep and explore what it is saying, how is it speaking to you, and how does it make you feel.  Enjoy the moment,

The elation for me today was the joy of living in Perfect Liberty, waking with a smile on my face, and a prayer in my heart.  The relief was when the minister told me that I could write about PL the way I wanted to, in my words, because it is my opinion, my expression, and the heaviness that had been building slipped away. The church is a formal structure, it is a building, it is on a solid foundation, I am me, a believer, a writer, an artist and I want to continue to explore my faith with a writer’s “eye” and artist’s “feeling/touch”.  Like the wind I want to be ONE with the Universe, free to BE.

Q -travels_005
There are times when even in a crowd, we feel that we are alone. Sometimes t his is good, other times we wish that we could reach out and share the moment with a friend.
Fortunately, a PL member has the opportunity to receive consultation, or simply visit with a minister to share, talk about, a problem, question, or curiosity in our life.

The picture was taken in the virtual world of Second Life. I have found the different worlds I’ve discovered there to be a perfect way to experience the artistic talents of the virtual artist. If you are wanting to explore this build on your own, these are the coordinates.

In PL (Perfect Liberty) we learn to appreciate ALL the different circumstances we find ourselves in. For me the discovery of this nest in the middle of nowhere was comfortable.. I loved the quiet, the calling of the birds overhead, the sound of the water against the rocks that lined the shore.. blue skies.. We have an advantage in SL (Second Life) we have the ability to fly, one can never be lost =^_^=.

When we trust in the divine ONEness of the Universe, we are living in Perfect Liberty and we know that we are never alone, ever.

Your life is part of the bigger world beyond you. Start with your surroundings and spread peace to the world around you.
Good Morning everyone.
Doing shikiri daily, helps me keep motivated to stay focused in all I do.
I send love and positive energy to each and everyone of you.

June already, today is the start of another month, May seems to have gone by so quickly.  The PL teaching for June 1 is ” Always Live With “World Peace” In Your Heart.  If each one of us sincerely prays for peace on earth, our combined efforts can change the world”  During a service, when we read this teaching. the official that is leading us, reads the part that is in bold, and we repeat it.  Then the rest is read for us to think and meditate on.  Then we all repeat together the main sentence,” Always Live With “World Peace” In Your Heart” .  The teachings come in the form of a Perfect Liberty calendar.  This calendar consists of 31 pages.  We use this calendar all year.  A new one comes out at the start of each new year. They are available in English, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish

The teachings of PL focus on everyday daily living to help people be all they can be in  this life.  I am very fortunate in that I live in a city where there is an actual physical Perfect Liberty Church.  That said, you have access to the church, the ministers via the internet (see web site ) http://www.perfectliberty.ca  If you live close to any of the churches ( PL is International) you are always welcome to drop in, and/or contact the ministers in person.  It is so positive and exhilarating to have such open and effective communications with the ministers.

In June, the heat and humidity can soar in these parts, tempers can flare up, often there is a yearning to get away, to experience a change from the usual day to day.  Already at the gym that I attend, I see the decline in members hitting the machines in the early day.  It is vacation time, schools will be out soon, and the highways and roads into cottage country are getting busier.  Yet home is where I find my greatest sense of “well being” .  In following PL teachings on a regular basis, I am finding that often the inner contentment has me smiling what I call a Buddha smile..  From ear to ear, head to toe and through and through. =^_^=    Always live with “world Peace” in your Heart.

When you are listening to someone, give them your fullest attention.  Turning your body towards them, listen for the feeling behind their words so that you can truly understand what they are trying to tell you.

Listen With Your Heart and Your Mind.  Today’s Perfect Liberty teaching.  I start each day reading the daily teaching and try to carry it as best as I can throughout my day.  Doing this every day, you find that soon it becomes the natural way to respond and you develop  a greater understanding and connection to the person(s) you interact with.  How many times have you found yourself in a conversation that is one sided?  Someone will ask how you are, and before you can really answer they have launched into their own recounting of what has happened to them.  At such times I realize that the person’s need to share information and have someone listen is what is important in that moment.  I listen.  Not always, but more often then not, in listening, I hear not only the words but the feelings that accompany those words.  For that space in time, there is a connection between the person talking, and myself.  It might have been a sad story, an anxiety expressed, a happy moment retold, whatever it was, for me it was a moment shared.  I feel glad and happy to have been able to share that moment in time with my family  member/friend/acquaintance.  My happiness and comfort in sharing, transfers to the person I’m interacting with, when we can connect with another individual in a personal way, a sharing way, that is a real “hug”

Too often in life we say love, hugs and kisses, or make affectionate  sounds, but do we really feel the “comfort” and “joy” (closeness)

Listen With Your Heart and Your Mind.

I’ll have to go back and take another picture now that the snow is all gone.  The grass is green and the flowers have begun to bloom.  Although this shows the building itself, the welcoming entrance.  The love and community in this building gives it a life of its own, always one feels welcome when visiting the church of Perfect Liberty.

I’ve been silent for some time now.  No one reason, just that I’ve been busy living day to day, moment to moment.  When one focuses on “Being in the Moment”  days are full, satisfying and rewarding.  I have written a number of introductions to PL for a magazine we have here in Ottawa called Tone.  It is my hope that in so doing, there will be others who read the words and thoughts and want to come and explore what PL is all about..

“PL’s teachings are practical and common sense.  They are the sort of things you will read in positive thinking and self help books, or hear in motivational speeches.  The difference is that the members are assisted in practicing them in everyday life through discussions, consultations and prayer”  borrowed from my article in the May issue. =^_^=

I have found that committing myself to being a member of the church has made a difference in my life.  I was happy before, now I’m even happier. Oshieoya-sama has said that PL can help unhappy people become happy and happy people become even happier.  I believe.  The website for the Church of Perfect Liberty in Ottawa is http://www.perfectliberty.ca   There are PL churches in parts of the States and in Canada.  The Motherland is in Japan, with a second Mother land in Brazil.

Those of you who follow my travels and ramblings know that I am a member of the Second Life community and have spent many years enjoying various communities within SL.  I’ve especially enjoyed building, traveling and exploring the virtual world.  Most recently blogging for the fashionista and divas in SL on Fashion, Lifestyles etc. with my blog http://longdashstudio.blogspot.com

Now, Q ( Qyhat Harbour) who has spent the last many years as a Tiny is going to open up her home to those wanting to know more about the Church of Perfect Liberty.  I so believe that the teachings of Perfect Liberty can make profound changes in a person’s life.I want to share with anyone who wants to learn.  Virtual world is a beginning, once one has been introduced to the simplicity of its teachings and is ready to move on, there are churches and groups for them to meet and explore in RL.  Anyone wanting to find out how, and where, need simply contact me or check out the website.  This is your limo to the   “house” of Perfect Liberty    http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Greenberry/228/56/35

PL thought for today – Just Be Yourself – relax and express  yourself freely without hesitation. This will allow you to live your life to the fullest.

Happy New Year -. another year has passed, and life keeps getting better

Feb. 10_012

In China in olden days, prior to the arrival of a new year, the custom was to sweep away the past, make sure the house was cleaned, and that you were ready to receive all that the new year would bring. (spiritually and intellectually)

In Second Life I found a sim that was preparing for Chinese New Year celebrations.  The vendors hadn’t set up yet, I basically had the place to myself.   There is something very peaceful about being able to wander a virtual town, experience the artistry of the builders who put it together.

Life is busy right now, I have agreed to do an art show of my work(s) during April and May.  This means going through my records, books and photographs to see what I would like to showcase, and determine how best I can talk about the many artistic expressions I’ve had in the last say decade.

I have no idea how to show my sculptures in 3D format in SL (Second Life) and anything that I would have to learn to do so, would take time.  Yet, there is no anxiety, just a sense of  “Wow, what fun I’ll have putting a show together” this will be my first in SL.  It means show my work to  total strangers, without faces, I will have to bring the RL into the virtual world, and then go with the flow.

It is one thing to build in SL and display what I have been learning and doing there, virtual creativity is not what I’ve manipulated with my bare hands, and shaped or expressed from my inner self. Or is it?  All that I do comes from me, myself and I….  I loved this picture that I took of myself on New Year’s eve.  There is something about it, that has captured my “mood”   I’m happy, and I wish for each and everyone who read this to know, that I want you to be happy too.  In PL (Perfect Liberty) we say, “life is art”  and for me..  happiness is being creative.        Blessings. Changing Seasons

I love this time of year.  It energizes and gets me into a creative mood.  October for me is a month of having fun.  I love the crisp mornings, and the way the day just seems to flow from one activity to the next.  Time to work with my various “tools”  I can’t decide should I sew, felt, write, make cards.  I love love love the fall.  A friend on Facebook, sent out a challenge, she posted a picture of a corner in her workshop.  Asked who would follow suit.  Oh my, I am a fan of Sherry’s, she is not only a talented artist/craftsperson, she is a fabulous teacher.  I met her through the CDAA (Canadian Doll Artist  Association) (artist who designed one of a kind dolls/characters)  Ohhh I looked around my work space.  Could I do it?  While I was contemplating her “challenge” she posted another picture of another area , one that looked much like parts of mine, it made me feel so good that I was not alone in my artistic fuddle, I got out my camera.

LOL it is now early November, and I found this draft with a picture of what my studio looked like the,  I’ve since cleared out that corner and put in shelving I found at at a closing out sale at a department store.  Hmm let me see if I got a picture to show you of what it looks like now.  No.. so I just took one to share with you, and then I’ll post this draft otherwise, it will stay hidden here till…??  note the new addition to my “tools” a Singer Ultralock 14u32, anyone out there give me some help setting it up with tension etc.

(I started this post Oct. 12)  Sigh… but I did get back to it.. and I am following through a posting the picture of my studio corner… only now ..=^_^= you get an after shot to go with it.

Also my http://longdashstudio.blogspot.com that was until recently focused mainly on the diva fashions of the “biggie” virtual world of SL (Second Life) will now expand to include the many delights of Second Life, the landscaping, architecture and all the creative “stuff” I love about virtual building,design/ART.

Wandering and Wondering

Wandering and Wondering.  Wow. here I was looking forward to what I had written back in September that I never got around to finishing.  All I had done was the title.  Goes to show, I have been kept busy with one thing or another, and for the life of me, I couldn’t tell you what exactly.  That is what my head space is like thee days. I’m enjoying life.  I’m happy.  Content even.   I flow from one task or activity to the next, living it, and then letting it go.  I have been keeping up with my Long Dash Studio blog, that I do almost every day. http://longdashstudio.blogspot.com .   I’m writing a short article each month for the church (Perfect Liberty) that appears in Tone Magazine. http://www.facebook.com/Tonemagazine or http://www.tone.ca

My various personas are all doing well.  Qyhat Harbour is now a ginger cat, and has an art exhibit on in Raglan Shire, it will be there for two months, April 2013 and May 2013 … AloToi is CEO of LONG DASH STUDIOS, writer, model, photographer, and Xsa Queler is model and writer for the blog. The blog is  now in its 14 month, and we have reached close to 15000 readers, our biggest readership is in USSR, Europe and the UK.  You can find us in Second Life, http://www.secondlife.com

We did wander last year, 9 States and 5 Provinces.  I must have been going to write about the adventure.  we’ve talked of taking off again, but so far, we have not strayed to far from home … Maybe when the nicer weather is here to stay, we will venture out.  Meanwhile, I’m just saying Hi…  and putting this blog to bed.

PL thought for today.

The value of Money and Things Depends on How you Choose to Use them.

Money and things are materials for your self expression.  Use them to their fullest for the sake of others and society.
