They are stunning. Near Montreal?
no in the south west end of Ottawa between Bells Corners and Bar Haven. Heavy Industry, so lots of big trucks, not always easy to stop unless you drive into the lot, like I did to get the pictures.

yes I pass often, but not always easy to stop, this time I made a trip especially to get the snaps.. drove unto the lot, and walked over.
Always makes me wonder if people up-ended stones to get out of the wind, or the sun. Waiting for trees would seem to stretch anyone’s patience. I’m guessing “sun” in the pre-SPF30 era.
