Getting a new computer set up, means you have to do a lot of rearranging, you are forced to look at all that “stuff” in your old hard drive. What is really essential, how much of the “clutter” do you really need, or will ever use ??????? If we could see inside our minds, we would find that the mind is just as cluttered with “things, information, memories” that are no longer relevant in our lives. Since my husbands passing some five years ago, it has been a steady emptying of the house of “objects” parafernalia no longer needed or wanted.
What is clear to me is that I no longer want to deal with all the mumble jumble that is required to get the new equipment up and running so that it is effective and I can be productive. It isn’t a simple task, of bring a new computer home and use it.. no …you need a lot of “stuff” from the equipment you are using. People working in the field, can so easily juggle all the various tasks, but to me it is mind boggling.
The computer is a wonderful invention, I love it, I love working with it, on it… but the mechanic of it.. that is another story. In nature, you can clearly see from the picture above, what is new , thriving and what has gone past its due date. I need to prune my mind .. simplify … … where is my to do list for the next many months !!!!
How about you… all good at your end?
Today’s calendar..
Be big hearted. In fact, what you are concerned about might be something you don’t need to be concerned about. Interact with people without worrying too much.

There are things you can do to simplify the process (for next time).
If you have a Microsoft account (actually.. works with an Apple account also) and use it, it will transfer a lot of things ‘magically’. And you can reinstall stuff that you purchased/downloaded from the AppStore also.
You can go through the start menu and look at ‘All Apps’ to get a list of what you have installed. Re-installing these is more complicated, since you need to figure out where you got them from.
The real challenge is figuring out where all these apps have stashed their data and configurations. This involves some detective work. Good luck and happy Googling.
Even for a techie.. this can take a week before the new computer is ‘comfortable’.
