There is something comforting about looking out at a snow scene of undisturbed fallen snow against a hedge that is splattered with beautiful miniature snow sculptures.
To prepare for the cold and snow of today, yesterday the birds were busy storing up all the energy they could gather. Chickadees were gathered in numbers I’d not seen before… The “cafe” was a flurry of wings and chattering.. blue jays dive bombed the shelled peanuts, the squirrels had to really dodge the streaks of blue and eager beaks. Even the nuthatch came in numbers, not just one at a time… they went through four servings of butter bark in minutes.. It was a like a cafeteria line. Guests (human) were thrilled at the sight and smiling broadly when a chickadee would swing low and brush a glove or shoulder.
Nature is healing.
