Thursday Doors

Doors are closed all over the city, not just in Ottawa, but in small towns, villages and along the highways .. where friends would meet and enjoy the social activity of sharing and engaging with a friend(s).

Where ever you are, you are coping with the changes happening around us, some places life is returning to some form of normal, but that is not everywhere. We are being subjected to to a lot of change, discontent, anxieties, frustrations..

Some restaurants are getting by with take out, and home deliveries. BUT, that is only some restaurants, and often it means they are barely getting by. One observation has been that to many eating out, going to a restaurant, just for a coffee was the highlight of the day, a gathering place, and a place to touch base with others who like you were /are just passing through.

It’s okay to think “this is where it starts” There is always a turning point, It’s important what you do from now on.

  1. I used to complain when I was trying to take a picture of an interesting restaurant door and people kept coming out or going in. Now, the doors are so often closed and it’s sad.

    I love that barrel-shaped door.

I hope thing return to normal soon, although I know, for some, normal is never to be again.

  2. Good text to go with the doors

  3. It is really strange to see this bar so empty. However…

  4. Love those two wooden doors. Hopefully it won’t be long until things start to open up again. The businesses that were able to do takeout of some sort or who already had drive-though were the lucky ones.
