In life we hurry, from place to place, task to task, cross another item off the to do list. We are in constant, “moving” mode. Sometimes in life we NEED to slow down, we NEED that moment of QUIET. Have you had yours today.

At first glance the old buildings used disused, empty, but when I stopped to actually look, I saw that indeed there was life, the place was being enjoyed, Being in the NOW is what will keep you grounded.

Experience the joy of change. It is truly amazing when you look back at yourself this year compared to last year or today compared to yesterday and realize how much you have improved and changed. PL 2016.30

See the 2nd from the left, last row. That is the Li Ho Restaurant, it was a rocking juke box dance hall at one time, I won my first jitterbug/jive contests there a “few” moons ago. Smiles.. time was.. memories are always interesting,…. Now driving into an empty parking lot ..not another car insight, just the birds watching from the trees and the squirrels scampering to be first to greet me .. that.. is powerful. When the Ravens call down, even more thrilling.

Note. I was under age, got home late, and my Mom was not happy with me, but I had my prize (a porcelain skunk) and the glow of having won the dance contest..

Your dance contest story made me smile. As for slowing down, it’s a necessity but one that too often is ignored, to the peril of our health. Quiet and quiet time, even solitude if possible should be on everyone’s list of things to do, preferably daily.

I always enjoy seeing the old barns, although when they’re falling down, it makes me sad.

We do have to slow down on occasion, lest we miss the interesting details around us. I love old barns, and I smiled at the story of you winning a jitterbug contest. I learned that dance, but not very well.

HI! the memory had me thinking of the little porcelain skunk I won. I certainly remember my Mother’s “lecture” on being out so late, etc etc.

Nothing like wonderful memories to make us smile. Your post did this for me today.

Good morning, some memories certainly do bring back images and reminders of what was.. The young man who danced with me, I never saw again, he was an older “boy” his partner had not been there when the contest was about to start, and I being short, slight and on my own, he scooped me up for the dance. He was a pro, a well known dancer in the area… I was thrilled. My Mom read me the riot act tho’….. smiles.. ahhhhh memories.
