Sometimes looking out into the distance, I wonder what it would be like to simply be able to point and magically transport myself to the top of the mountain, and look down. I see the snow .. it looks so pure so pristine…
I have had friends who recently went on retreats, silence, meditation, they had to leave their electronic gadgets … there was no writing paper, no reading…. just… time…. and quiet reflection.
The world is such a vast and interesting place… and the people who inhabit the various corners of the world are diverse … does today’s technology make for a better improved world, or… is it causing unrest and strife.

it does.. and it doesn’t.. I confess.. I seldom read now .. preferring podcasts, and videos on subject matter that interests me.. altho’ I have heard enough ai generated programs now that I see it is still in early stages… editing can be awful with some parts being replicated, repeated, words mispronounced etc. That said, I seldom watch television anymore.. waves across the miles…
The world would be a friendlier place without people glued to screens, for sure. No books or paper to write would be hard for me, though. Still, it might be worth trying.
there was a time I would have been a time I would have shuddered at the thought… I always have markers/pens by me in case I want to sketch/draw or write something that I want to remember … now I use the silly cell phone to send myself a msg. then when I forget my cell at home.. I feel lost without it. Even tho’ I am not on it all the time, nor do I even listen to it all the time… however… when I drive back roads.. I like having it with me.. altho’ I do keep onStar service in the car… they have saved me more than once…. waves across the miles.
