No effort is ever wasted

No effort is ever wasted

No matter how small your efforts, your Makoto (sincerity) will be rewarded.  PL teaching.

If you are going to do something, you may as well do it with enthusiasm.  PL teaching.

Sometimes,it takes awhile

2013-01-19 July 8 misc 005Sometimes,it takes awhile

I once was wild about working with gourds. I built or created a bird house with one. It hung from a tree in the back garden. with time and weather it fell and the neck broke off. For some reason I was loath to just throw it away. The main body was rehung, but I kept the neck saving it till I could get back to it. I know that each and every other artist out there has done this in some way, the part of a song that you just can’t finish or get that special riff for. I moved this broken piece of gourd from one place in my work space to another.
Finally this past spring, it was just what I needed to try a new product with.
Once I had made up my mind, things just began to happen.
I can turn it in different directions, and each side gives me a different “story” “view”.. I had no idea what it was, or what to do with it. but.. the finished product made me smile and made me happy.  It was a visual tactile expression I needed to express at that time!  No more no less.

There is a teaching in PL. Once you make up your mind, things will happen. Once you decide you are going to do something, your enthusiasm and focus (mindfulness) will bring forth results. God/Universe will give you aid when you need it most.

Living life as Art, means, go with the flow, create and express yourself, the challenges in life are there to allow us to grow and stretch our talents.  God/TAO is everywhere, and in all things.  Always.  Strive to live in Perfect Liberty  (PL)

PL Precept #1    LIFE IS ART

Reminder – Tomorrow 21st.  PL teaches that the surest way to be blessed is to appreciate all the blessings we have received. Through our participation in the Thanksgiving Service every month, Oshieoya-sama gives us a practical way to perform this teaching.

Blessings everyone! Be Happy!

Good Morning – C’est vendredi ! (Friday)

Good Morning - C'est vendredi ! (Friday)

Hey, are you having a good day? I sure hope so. I dug back through my files, thought a nice winter scene might cool some of us down. Take a moment with me to close your eyes and think of the prettiest winter scene you’ve come across. Let a smile come, let it form on your lips and into your eyes. Feel it. ahhhhh so so nice. Slowly open your eyes keeping that smile in place….OH! Joy to the world !!!

Good Morning everyone. Let my love for you, stay with you and keep you safe.

Blessings

elation and relief

When I discovered this abandoned old car in the fields today, I thought of how even in the sad state it was in, it was rather appealing.  I thought of how it must have looked when it was new, & how it must have a lot of stories it could tell.  The artist who created this rusted clunker gave it character.  It isn’t just any old car, it is a car that has been detailed to look old, and then lovingly placed in the field so that it creates a picture for the eye to enjoy when  it is first spied. Drawing the viewer down into the field to get a closer look.

In Perfect Liberty one of the teachings is to help the seeker to enjoy not just what is seen, but to appreciate the components that brought the object to our attention.  When teaching I used to show the student a piece of left over 4×4 wood with a nail hammered into it, a screw half screwed in at an angle and a what not of sorts embedded on the other side.  The question to the student would be, “what do you see/feel when you take this object and hold it.  Because of the objects hammered, screwed and embedded it was not easy to hold.  Nor was it pretty.

Often the question left the student perplexed and curious at just what it was I wanted, or expected him/her to tell me.  what I was wanting was exactly what they were giving me, a reason to explain that what we see/feel is not always what is.  The wood, had history, it had begun as a seed many many years ago.  That seed to grow, had first to rot into the soil it was planted or dropped on.  It took many years to grow and in that time, it lived, we can only guess, a great number of lifetimes.  With many changes it eventually was cut down and parts of it became building lumber.  The piece we were holding, was discarded, only to be recycled into a teaching tool.  The nail and screw that now were part of it, they also had undergone many changes to become the objects we were seeing.

As a therapist, I know that visually the body can tell me one thing, but when I actually lay  hands on it, I will discover much much more.  Though the human may  tell me, “I’m fine, no really, there isn’t a problem”   yet my experience, my visual and physical exam will tell me volumes.

The first of the 21 Precepts in Perfect Liberty is LIFE IS ART .  Just that Precept alone, has so many teachings, so much power in it.  Every day we are given the opportunity to live an artistic life.  To look at the blank canvas before us, and to create something beautiful.  Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  When something speaks to you,  stop, look deep and explore what it is saying, how is it speaking to you, and how does it make you feel.  Enjoy the moment,

The elation for me today was the joy of living in Perfect Liberty, waking with a smile on my face, and a prayer in my heart.  The relief was when the minister told me that I could write about PL the way I wanted to, in my words, because it is my opinion, my expression, and the heaviness that had been building slipped away. The church is a formal structure, it is a building, it is on a solid foundation, I am me, a believer, a writer, an artist and I want to continue to explore my faith with a writer’s “eye” and artist’s “feeling/touch”.  Like the wind I want to be ONE with the Universe, free to BE.

Changing Seasons

I love this time of year.  It energizes and gets me into a creative mood.  October for me is a month of having fun.  I love the crisp mornings, and the way the day just seems to flow from one activity to the next.  Time to work with my various “tools”  I can’t decide should I sew, felt, write, make cards.  I love love love the fall.  A friend on Facebook, sent out a challenge, she posted a picture of a corner in her workshop.  Asked who would follow suit.  Oh my, I am a fan of Sherry’s, she is not only a talented artist/craftsperson, she is a fabulous teacher.  I met her through the CDAA (Canadian Doll Artist  Association) (artist who designed one of a kind dolls/characters)  Ohhh I looked around my work space.  Could I do it?  While I was contemplating her “challenge” she posted another picture of another area , one that looked much like parts of mine, it made me feel so good that I was not alone in my artistic fuddle, I got out my camera.

LOL it is now early November, and I found this draft with a picture of what my studio looked like the,  I’ve since cleared out that corner and put in shelving I found at at a closing out sale at a department store.  Hmm let me see if I got a picture to show you of what it looks like now.  No.. so I just took one to share with you, and then I’ll post this draft otherwise, it will stay hidden here till…??  note the new addition to my “tools” a Singer Ultralock 14u32, anyone out there give me some help setting it up with tension etc.

(I started this post Oct. 12)  Sigh… but I did get back to it.. and I am following through a posting the picture of my studio corner… only now ..=^_^= you get an after shot to go with it.

Also my http://longdashstudio.blogspot.com that was until recently focused mainly on the diva fashions of the “biggie” virtual world of SL (Second Life) will now expand to include the many delights of Second Life, the landscaping, architecture and all the creative “stuff” I love about virtual building,design/ART.
