lost in the wilderness

IMG_0671

Ok I’m not in the wilderness, but I could be.  Right, I’m not lost either, but just because I know where I am doesn’t mean I’m not lost. If I was an ant wandering around down there amongst the foliage, it would be a wilderness. (perspective)

IMG_0632

Especially if I had to find my way home, and back up the tree. Would the rain hamper my progress?  Certainly in a downpour in the truck, when it comes down in sheets, it is very difficult to see, even with the window washers going at full speed.

IMG_0631

Picture perfect isn’t what the day is all about.  I guess basically my thoughts are wandering, and tho’ I’m in a familiar place physically, my gray matter is heading for the wilderness, to find some breathing room.

Sometimes it is best, to let life around you, sway and  bend as it may, tomorrow will be another day.  So when you wake, it will be a brand new day.

Tuesday, really?

FullSizeRender[3]

Ok really, trains passing, going at a clip,  for one reason or another, I just wasn’t getting what I wanted.  Some times like this morning. I was looking for a picture of “nothing”  You know, emptiness.  But .. all I could find were pictures of this, that and whatever.

DSC00066

OH, how about this empty lot, in the spring, before it became an active fresh veggie stop, no that didn’t work, I’ve used other versions of it before.  These long week-ends are soooo long,  on Friday I was thinking it was Sunday, on Saturday a non holiday, I thought it was Monday, Sunday was Sunday, then Monday, a regular day for us, but a holiday in the States, I was thinking it was Wednesday.

There is really no such thing as an empty space, nothing, there is always something.  we need only really look, we have all heard the expression, “seek and you shall find”

and here is another one, “perception is reality”

they just get right into the moment and enjoy it

Sounds of Silence #2

DSC00100

drawn like a moth to a flame

your silence called out to me

I knew, I needed a closer look

unlike in the books

my heart didn’t race

in fact, of emotion there was little  trace

just the desire to get closer

my steps were sure as if

as if, somehow I knew

we had met before

the years had aged you

 your tenants not always kind

there was not a blind

to hide your scarred and broken

parts inside.

you did your best,

you really did

sometimes, it really doesn’t matter

for life moves on

and you are left

not bare, but silent

the memories of what was

still visible on your face

DSC00101

you’ve left the door open

for what will be, will be

you’ve come this far

at night under the stars

you’ll sleep the gentle sleep

of one who has loved

knowing, love will always be

the sound of silence

is a living memory

love is never lost

PL Precept # 11   Always be with God

PL lesson 5- Widsom Comes Naturally when you are humble

wisdom

“You will stop growing if you have a conceited or boastful mind.  Always remember to be humble.”

This is when practicing the art of listening is so important.  If we think we know it all, or already know what someone is going to say or do, we deprive ourselves of learning.  It could be a new way of doing something, or a different viewpoint on a subject we think we have down pat.

PL lesson 5

Chinese New Year (year of Monkey) has already started in parts of the world.   A time to celebrate with family and friends. In China, people travel for days to get home, this is a big holiday.

sunshine and flowers

Where ever you are, however you are celebrating, may inner joy, satisfying rewards, and good health be the core essence of the new year.

The bees knees

Here you go to all my friends and readers who have had me ask them, what is the meaning of the expression “you’re the bees knees”  Finally, dear loved ones, lazy me,  looked it up

Bees knees

For those of you who remember it from the distant past, but couldn’t recall the meaning .. except that it seemed to a favoured expression. This is one possibility…

BeesKnees

Whatever, you can breathe a sigh of relief, I have found enough information, I will let it go now =^_^=  it just stuck in my craw, I didn’t have a clue.  I learned about bees though and have been impressed with what I learned. The bee is very valuable to our survival, AND, it is a positive energy, it lives to give life to others.  It is tireless in its quest, and lives a life of service.

Accept Everything With Appreciation

Did you know that a honey bee will visit over 2 thousand flowers in a day if it needs to!  That is perseverance to get a job done.

Could this be where we got the saying, “busy bees”

Sea una persona capaz de agradecer todas las cosas que acontecen ante sus ojos.

Aquellos que agradecen mucho son felices.

Today is the 21st and in PL our evening service is about appreciation, and giving thanks.

Today’s lesson

Become a person who can be thankful for anything that happens to them.

A person who is always thankful is a happy person.

self expression

The infinite charm of self-expression lies in the creating of art itself, I can be happily doing something that pleases me, and seldom  know what it is I’m going to do before I actually do it.

Mushrooms, moss and an old log, photographer Frans Lanting took this picture , Manu National park, Peru, those are Cup fungus in the Amazon rainforest. She captured a still of a very vibrant living landscape.   When we are creating, we must perceive the subject &  really fully grasp its essence, the visual, evokes inspiration, which in turn creates and stimulates a desire for expression.

Dryad’s Saddle (Polyporus squamosus) fungi

When we put our full attention, sincerity and scrupulous attention to whatever creativity we engage in, the results are much more rewarding and pleasing to us.  So it is when we are faced with a challenge.  How we proceed, the choices we make, all become part of the fabric of the results or product that we produce.

Today was a day of “Learning”  I’ve been building/creating for a long time using virtual software, graphic programs and I’ve happily done a little bit of this and a bit of that. Content to play. A dear friend and mentor that I hadn’t seen in a long time popped over and while we were talking she suddenly asked me why I hadn’t done something.  I had no idea what she was asking me, but in discussing it with her, I realized she was talking to me about a step or process in the doing of something, that I didn’t do, and it caused problems with some of my presentations.  I had known that I had to work at achieving what I wanted, and was often stuck with the problem so had to work around it.  Now here she was asking me a simple question,  in that moment, she opened a whole new window for me.

mushroom,Phellodon sinclairii fungus in beech forests of New Zealand

It was too much for me to take in, I will have to review our conversation, look up tutorials, meet with her again, and and and. I was happily doing my thing… but… to someone with experience in what I was doing, I had left out a step in the process. hmmm I reflected as my head hit the pillow. There is always something to learn.  Then my mind decided that perhaps I should deal with some of my other creative projects.. do something less “Intense”  So now it is 4:52 a.m. and I’m still up.  Yes I’ll pay for it tomorrow, but this is something I wanted to do.

f1fc9db97120275e1a36f01c79ae81eb

Now that I know there is another step and that if I do it another way, I will have different results, what will I do  I will learn the new method, because I like learning.  However, if I am creating  something because it pleases me, will I do it the new way after I’ve learned how, or will I want to do it the old way.  To grow I need to be able to let go of what I have done, and have an objective mind”  There is a saying… our Self is revealed when there is no ego....

Australian wilderness.a wandering memory

When we (a good majority of us) think of spending some time in the wilderness, we envision lush, rugged, environments, the pictures I use of sunsets and magical evenings under the stars, or calm waters on colourful fall days with the sun or moon reflecting of the crystal clear waters.  Ahhhhh yes… such themes make us feel warm, fuzzy maybe, for sure they are a for of eye candy…   The photographers have captured a still moment of beauty.

How about living near this location in Australia, where temperatures can be + 40 – 50 degrees centigrade (hot) and there is a lack of water.  Extreme weather can happen here, it is  wild country where  civilisation where it does exist, has to contend with the challenges every day.

Sitting in the comfort of an air climate controlled office with my morning super tall glass of ice coffee, I can admire the artist view that the photographer, took (awanderingmemory.com).  David and his wife travel all over the world visiting places they feel will enrich their lives with new experiences.  Through  his travels and his photography, we get to see place such as this that we wouldn’t otherwise see.

Australia the-endless-road

This is the endless highway that takes tourists and visitors through the Australian desert. David talks about some of what he felt was being missed by those who just drive through and not stop to explore. ”  It offers silence, true silence,” +”.. endless roads, dramatic sunsets, huge salt-pans, aboriginal heritage sites, hidden wildlife and clarity… ”

Have any of the above been on one of your “want” lists.  No of course we don’t have to travel over seas.. or for thousands of miles to find “true silence”… but we do have to make time to find what we want. AND to be in the moment, to always be aware of just what it  is we are “seeing” hearing” and “taking in”

silly smile

What can I say, there is silly in all of us… I’ve been living with a whippet far too long.. This pictures simply make me giggle and smile..  So… dearest readers.. who share these pages with me…. endure this moment with me…  S M I L E

Forget everything but the warmth of a smile  and enjoy a “silly”

much love to each and every one of  you..

I treasure you all.
