Such wisdom has been around for a very long time, why do we have so much trouble really practicing it in our daily lives?

Minions, what??? what is it about them that cracks me up, I even went to the big “arches” (McDonalds) when they were the “goodie” of the day.

Some people love a cruise, personally this is still on my bucket list. Yuppers, I’d prefer to do it solo with no one else around, but… it looks like this is a trail that is well-known and I am not alone in wanting to experience it.  Who discovered this trail and marked it for us?  What a “high” that had to have been.

This awesome capture was in Zion National Park, It was taken by photographer Long Nguyen, posted in 500px.  When I come across some of the amazing work of the photographers (artists) that search out their passions and capture them to share with us, I am so grateful to them for their skill at translating their experience into a visual format that I can enjoy and share in.

stairway to heaven

OK.. I want to visit here.  Does anyone know where this was taken, the photographer was Petr Marek,  the picture was posted on Fivehundredpx, the trail brought me to his pictures but aside from the title, Stairway to Heaven, there was no other info.??? anyway??  and yes, another for my bucket list.  could take me a while though, and I wouldn’t run up./P

It’s Monday…. oh dear…. the start of another week.  Wonder what is on the agenda for today… last week seems so far away, Had I made plans, are my days all booked.  Seems strange that last week, I thought this week was going to be clear … and I would have lots of time to explore.

The weather really doesn’t matter, I’m still left to ponder all on my own, of just what or how and when, this day will come to and end.   The excitement of life comes from expressing our individuality. We are born with a one of a kind personality and individuality, or unique character, that is ours alone.  In order to express our ourselves fully, it is important for us to live each moment to its fullest.  With our out most makoto (sincerity)

There are times when we are faced with which or what path we want to be on.  It really doesn’t matter if you go left or right, what matters that whatever you do, is what you want to do, and that you travel the path taking in each moment as best you can.

The 1st of the month we celebrate, Day of Peace.  Today and everyday, let us, no matter where we are, work towards wold peace. What ever you decide to do today, do it well, if you have time, sit for a spell… and enjoy the day, give thanks for being part of a world that holds an abundance of love, joy and laughter, we need only cultivate it in our lives.  Peace be with you.

Good Morning all – I took a breather yesterday. What we used to call a mental health day.  Packed the dogs in the car and took off.  We do this from time to time and it is usually just what the doctor ordered. We get away from the construction going on next door, hammering and pounding all day long. The glare of a computer screen, the ringing of phones.  It was time for a day out.

IMG_0601It was raining when we left, in fact it was pouring.  Determined we carefully found our way around detours and road construction till we were on the highway leading to the States.  We crossed over in Massena and came back via Ogdensburg. The Massena border crossing was so painless we were through in a blink of an eye,  No long line ups.  It could be different starting today, this is a long week-end in Ontario,Canada.  Monday is a Civic Holiday.

We had driven out of the rain, the sun was shining, there was a lovely breeze what better time to leave the main highway and follow a side road where once we had seen an Amish horse and buggy go.  We soon found ourselves in another time, a gentler time, with lots of green pastures, and simple structures, it was a gradual shift, but definitely the hustle and bustle of city life was behind us. There were areas in our drive, where the road though paved, would have been barely able to handle two passing modern-day automobiles or trucks.  Horse and buggies, yes.

We stopped at two different veggie stands, were home-made goods were also available.  At one location I was honored with an invitation into the home so view a double size quilt that was being made on a homemade loom.  Each stitch was carefully sewn by hand and if the daylight began to fade the woman used a kerosene lamp to guide her hands while she sewed.  The quilts are lovely works of   a rt, the one that would have interested me would have been the unfinished one, for the hours of labour   the price asked left me truly humbled.  It was just such an experience for me,  I thought of my  two sewing machines, my serger, my air-conditioned comfort, and here this woman with the big warm smile and happy eyes stood showing me her winter work, because in the summers she worked with her children bringing in the harvest and preparing it for sale.   They travel 2 hours or so to go about 17 miles to the shopping centre in Ogdensburg to sell their home-made products in the parking lot outside of Lowes. There was a quiet peace that settled over me while on this day trip that will last for some time to come.  I rediscovered a part of me that I used to spend much more time with.  The young girl at the first place we stopped told me that they have quilting bees, her eyes lit up just thinking about the joy they have in sharing community with their neighbours and friends.  As we stood chatting I realized that life  was a happy place, and what a rich blessing it was for me  to be able to share in that moment.  The odd car we heard was so out of place.  I can still hear the sounds of hooves  and buggy coming down the road, Nice.

There were places I would have loved to capture with my lense, but felt it would have been an intrusion, the people we met were so gracious and friendly.

The countryside and simple way of living, brings a new perspective on what I have let my life become.  I am very happy with my life, and most of all I’m content, but now I know that I can also be just as happy with less.  Maybe even more so.

Could I live without my computer and the internet?  Yes.. Would I want to.  No.  I’m too selfish to give you all up. LOL.  You have become so much a part of who I am, some of you, have shared your music and stories with me, touching me as only a good friend can do, yet we have never physically met, isn’t life amazing.  Have a good day dear friend.  Till next time….                                Namaste – Oyashikiri

A big thank you to a husband who helps me live my dreams.

February, a new year, Chinese yr of the Snake

Happy New Year -. another year has passed, and life keeps getting better

Feb. 10_012

In China in olden days, prior to the arrival of a new year, the custom was to sweep away the past, make sure the house was cleaned, and that you were ready to receive all that the new year would bring. (spiritually and intellectually)

In Second Life I found a sim that was preparing for Chinese New Year celebrations.  The vendors hadn’t set up yet, I basically had the place to myself.   There is something very peaceful about being able to wander a virtual town, experience the artistry of the builders who put it together.

Life is busy right now, I have agreed to do an art show of my work(s) during April and May.  This means going through my records, books and photographs to see what I would like to showcase, and determine how best I can talk about the many artistic expressions I’ve had in the last say decade.

I have no idea how to show my sculptures in 3D format in SL (Second Life) and anything that I would have to learn to do so, would take time.  Yet, there is no anxiety, just a sense of  “Wow, what fun I’ll have putting a show together” this will be my first in SL.  It means show my work to  total strangers, without faces, I will have to bring the RL into the virtual world, and then go with the flow.

It is one thing to build in SL and display what I have been learning and doing there, virtual creativity is not what I’ve manipulated with my bare hands, and shaped or expressed from my inner self. Or is it?  All that I do comes from me, myself and I….  I loved this picture that I took of myself on New Year’s eve.  There is something about it, that has captured my “mood”   I’m happy, and I wish for each and everyone who read this to know, that I want you to be happy too.  In PL (Perfect Liberty) we say, “life is art”  and for me..  happiness is being creative.        Blessings.
