ahhh it is hard to explain in Quebec they have special french fry trucks .. where you can stop along the roadside for freshly made “French” fried fries… and the hot dogs were/are steamed… all dressed was with onions, relish, mustard and sometimes that cabbage that is sliced and marinated. Depending on the location and the “cooks” it can be rather “gourmet” for those of us who live along the border of the two provinces, try as we might, trying to get a good hot dog and fries on this side .. just isn’t the same. It is one of those.. you have to experience the dogs and fries to “get it”.
dedicated fans will drive miles for the reward of “real” dogs and fries…
