Maturation

Maturation

Soon to be delicious semi sweet cherries, full of healthy juice and fibers, in life, our learning cycles are much like the cycle of a fruit tree. PL teaching for day 10 –  Your Enthusiasm Can Lead to Opportunities. – Chances don’t just fall into our laps. They come to us when we are putting our full effort into something.
The cherries are from our garden, you can see the various stages of growth along the branches. If only we could view our own progress as we balance our day to day activities.what would we see.  Would we see the various stages of  growth in our journey to maturity? In nature, the tree has a purpose, each stage it goes through is committed to the end results. In PL the teachings guide us in living in a manner that brings enthusiasm into our actions, leading us towards a more productive and fruitful existence. Everything we do in life is of value, be open to new opportunities.  Thank you for sharing this moment with me.

It’s Interesting Because We all See Things Differently

Everyone has a different point of view.  Let’s enjoy and appreciate the personalities and differences we all have. > PL teaching day 9

It’s interesting Because We all See Things Differently.

Meet the door.  We have an old wooden door leading into the house, my husband has been talking of changing this door for some time now. About 2 month ago, I was painting a gourd and had left over paint.  Inspiration hit and I applied it to the door.  There wasn’t all that much, but it left this dark blob of paint on the door.  Basically I cleaned my brushes by using the door as a blank canvas, or cleaning pad.  My dear husband came in and out numerous times, never said a word.  Over the next days and weeks, I kept adding to the door, color on color, and white washing it, the more I played with the door, the more I began to like the distressed look it was getting.  Still not a word from hubby.  This is the door we use daily, it is our main mode of access in and out of the house.  He is not someone who misses anything.  So I knew he had seen the door.  Sometimes silence speaks volumes.

2013-01-18 July 8 misc 002 When I finally asked  how come he hadn’t said anything about the door, part of his reply was that he was just glad I wasn’t painting the garage door.  (Our back door is not seen from the outside, one has to enter onto the back veranda first.) =^_^=

Here is a good example of  PL teaching #9     appreciation of “differences”.  He took into consideration, my need to create and express….  The door can be repainted at any time.

I appreciate him all the  more for his understanding. The man is a gem, I am truly blessed.

Life is Art!

Good Morning everyone… 7.6.13

How is your day so far?  This week I got to sit down and actually read an article that I had put aside to read when I wouldn’t be disturbed.  I wanted to read about the elderly in Okinawa Japan. It seems that the villagers in a sleepy northern part of Okinawa, appear to live longer, and healthier. There is even a song that says that 50 and 60 year olds are babies, and people in their 70 and 80’s are adults.  It is only after turning into your 90’s that you begin to bloom.  In the Ogimi village, (pop 3308) they claim to having the highest longevity record in the world.  A super elder is someone over 100  =^_^=

The longest centenarian study (36 years) has involved Dr. Makoto Suzuki  who is the principal researcher behind the Okinawa Centenarian Study.  In 1994  he was joined by Drs. Craig and Bradley Willcox (Calgary born).  Their findings have been published and thanks in part to Oprah Winfrey, it became a bit of a bestseller.

How the World’s Longest Lived People Achieve Everlasting Health – and How you can too (2001).  The study was funded by the Japan Ministry of Health.  they looked at the total health of the “seniors”  – physical, mental and spiritual.  Dr Suzuki explained that part of the good spiritual health came from the island way of thinking called nankuru naisa, meaning don’t worry, be happy.. note.. these people lived through relentless bombardments during the war and years of poverty in the aftermath.  In PL, every day is a new day,  a new beginning, the 21 Principles help us achieve an Artistic Life.

Another factor in the islander’s longevity, is waking each day with Ikigai (a reason to get out of bed)  In PL, we do our best to live each moment to the fullest, PL Precept #18 – Each Moment is a  Turning Point  ………….  PL # 14  Peace is everything

Let’s not forget, diet and exercise. How food is cooked is as relevant as the foods themselves. Having purpose in all we do ( life ) is so important   The philosophy and concept of what I was reading smacked of how as a Taoist I try to live everyday, and as a practitioner of PL (Perfect Liberty)  I am encouraged and supported in my daily devotions to live in a manner that will promote world peace.  Grand thinking, no not really, if we, each and every one of us, practice living with love in our hearts and continue to reach out and pray for others and peace,  one by one our loving hearts will link, through Shingei (sharing our PL faith with others) the loving energy of world peace will grow.

When we look beyond ourselves, towards world Peace, our lives will be more fulfilling. We will have joy in self expression, living our lives to the fullest, will give us longevity. Happiness is such a wonderful state of BEing.    Blessings all!

Live Each Day With Excitement

Live Each Day With Excitement

Challenge everything with enthusiasm. You will be rewarded with joy and encounter happy occurrences.
PL teaching day 5.
Remember when you first began to explore the storybook worlds of “Once upon a time” and “they lived happily ever after” Today after a lifetime of experiences,we know that these stories were not the realities of life. However, in each and every one of us, there still lives that bubble of delight for being enchanted and charmed.
In following the teachings of PL, and doing our very best to live in the moment, life does become happier and the enthusiasm for more is intoxicating. Blessings!
