Wednesday 17th

Make today a different day. Instead of doing the same old thing, be creative and do things to improve your day.

Perfect Liberty 2021,17

I’ve had a personal encounter with each of the above birds. They have a way of looking at you that is very interesting, they can be looking straight ahead, at least their head is facing forward, but I swear that they are looking right at me. I’ve had many an early morning conversation with one woodpecker or another. I realized today, that I will miss them when I am not spending as much time in the woods. It was an interesting observation. I’ve come to know so many different birds over the last year.. … there is something special about how the woodpecker relates… it doesn’t take flight like other birds do…. when an intruder comes along. Most will take off to a higher place where they can watch and scoop out the situation… The woodpecker, will often just simply move around the tree away from immediate view, and take in the stranger(s) without too much of a fuss. The ones that came regularly when I was around, almost ignored my presence.. they were not concerned by my activities. In fact, there is one at Mer Bleue that makes me wait when I want to refill the feeder till he/she is ready to move. Mais oui, but yes, I wait… he/she was there first! =^_^=

It is mid week everyone…

  1. Like all living things, they have interesting adaptations. Love both pics of the pilieated.

  2. What a wonderful collection of woodpeckers! We don’t see the pileated ones here.

  3. I’m sure that they will miss you and your tasty treats as well!

    • good morning! I was out yesterday and brought a few feeders home, I will miss them too, but I know they will do just fine.. many have moved on, and every day more will follow.. there is a whole world out there for them to explore and enjoy. Waves a happy greeting your way.
