In going through a file, I found this stashed in a folder all by its lonesome. You know my fascination with wild turkeys these days.. this lone bird caught my eye. Wondering what he/she is doing? When I saw today’s lesson (PL Calendar) I thought it perfect for my visual today. Anyone out there recognize this bird?

Who says these wonderful birds don’t have personalities. This beauty was showing off for me today, and I was lucky enough to get my cell out for a picture. Since I get to see them now almost every morning, I am getting used to them, and them to me… I put out a product called bird butter that I get from a specialty shop.. I apply it to the bark of trees for the woodpeckers and smaller birds. Today, my attention was called to look over to where I had just applied it.. to see not a woodpecker, but….

They are proving to be delightful critters, they are playful and naughty, curious and as you can see by the top pictures.. they can be hams/showoffs. they were seen eyeing the back of my car where the birdseed is stored (my trunk lid was up)… so far I’ve seen them with their necks outstretched, but they have kept a distance. I’ll be watching them. =^_^=

Mindfulness. appreciation. this is the time of year when we see majestic colours everywhere, I am filled with an awe that such beauty exists, especially if I am driving with the sun in just the right position, and my way is filled with a dazzling vista of beauty so fleeting that I know, if I come back along the same highway, or road, the moment will have passed. I feel gratitude in my heart that I was able to experience such beauty.
Every year I would get such a chuckle out of how Chris and his wife would do their décor up for the fall, I went looking this year and couldn’t find what was done. Chris generously send me the picture for this year. So, dear readers, here it is…. the critters that visit their yard from the woods behind their home, must find it entertaining… they must wonder at the antics of “humans”.. we are after all such a special species.
Spent part of today, sweeping up leaves, and bringing some of my wood finds under cover ( into the garage).. there I hope they will dry out over winter.. they will no longer be exposed to the weather, it can get extreme here when we are into the full throes of a Canadian winter. Since the forecast is for rain off and on over the week-end I also drained the water barrel of the accumulation from the last couple of weeks. Called fall chores … bet you have your own to deal with… =^_^=
Please.. no applause, these tasks got done because.. I was in the mood today to be outside and I felt like it.. the “lazy” me could return at anytime..!!!

PS.. note.. raking/yard work can be satisfying when doing it.. the aftermath if you have arthritis in the hands/wrist/fingers etc. can be devastating
Fall is such a special time of year, we all have different memories about this time of year. For me it is wandering the various back roads in “anywhere” I can get to. I thought this was a happy picture, hope it brings a smile to your day.
Think of the timing before you say “but…” When stating your opinion, make sure you are being respectful of others’ opinions. Be mindful of this when you speak.
