Happy New Year (Feb.19.2015)

Time to celebrate, to welcome in a brand new year. the eighth sign in the lunar calendar the Sheep/Goat year (wood) . If you were born under this sign you usually tend towards the arts, are sensitive and talented. Extremely creative, elegant and charming, peace-loving, easy-going, ardent, you can get along with nearly everyone, It is said that people born in the year of the Sheep, are viewed as the most artistic and Yin/ feminine signs of the Chinese zodiac. That this is the year of the wood sheep, usually means that children born this year will be even more artistic and considerate of others.

In China the goat/sheep is seen as a harbinger of peace. The goat/sheep is associated with harmony, creativity, peace and pleasure.

Some days

On the first of every month

the church has a ceremony for peace

yet my heart yearns for peace

with each beat of my heart

Like the mist on a cold winter day

I whisper softly the sentiment I feel, into the words I pray

and hope that some day

every day, will be a day of peace.

out of the winter mist

the light of love will glow

and as it draws nearer

we will all be bathed in a wordless understanding

that will deliver us from the fears

Peace lives in my heart

Life is Art

Artistic expressions are what makes life a work of art. Your life is your very own unique work of art. If you cut corners are miss important details, you will not be able to live up to your fullest potential. If you ignore truths, and live life half heartedly you will not live a full life. Life is full of an accumulation of small moments.

Where-ever you are, you are a living person, you interact with others, and situations, circumstances that come you way. In order to do so you express your feelings. Your life is shaped by the way you express yourself, each and every day.

In PL, Perfect Liberty, on the 1st day of every month we celebrate – Day of Peace – through a ceremony where we pray for World Peace. We rededicate our purpose in life to live as peaceful human beings in our own worlds. January 1, is not only the first day of the month, but the first day of a new year. In PL this is one of four major ceremonies. We affirm our sincere desire to begin anew, living an artistic life according to the teachings of the PL.

PL Precept # 3. God appears through One’s Self.

Perfect Liberty

This is the PL Peace Tower at headquarters in Japan. In 1970 the Second Founder oversaw the completion of the PL Peace Tower. The Second Founder established the Federation of New Religious Organizations of Japan, he was appointed to the Commission for Religious Cooperation. During his tenure he visited the Vatican three times, meeting both Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II to talk of World Peace.

The Peace Tower is a non-sectarian monument built at the PL Holy Land in Japan, it is dedicated to ALL from the beginning of time, who have lost their lives a s a result of war.

May 2015 marked 100 years since the popular poem was written.

Peace begins at home, in our hearts. When we can sincerely live (with Makoto) for the sake of others and society. Peace begins when we live with love in our hearts. PL Precept #14 – world Peace is Everything!

A turtle day

To the Chinese and other Asian cultures, the turtle is a symbol of longevity. My Mother had a collection of turtles, I remember he coming home from her travels abroad with another turtle for her charm bracelet or for the collection that was growing in leaps and bounds in the curio cabinet. When the turtle comes to mind for me is when I am having what I call a “Turtle Day:”… Usually a mental health day, a day where I know I want to retreat into my “make believe” shell and just sleep or day dream.

Today is the 21st of the month, the day that in PL (Perfect Liberty) we gather to show our appreciation , saying Thank you, for all that we have experienced in the previous days and weeks. We pray for guidance and renew our dedication to live with full Makoto (sincerity) following the practices and instructions as laid out in Perfect Liberty. Just as we must eat and sleep regularly to refresh our bodies, so too must we pray and give thanks to God on a regular basis and say Thank you for the blessings of life.

Whatever is meant to be, will be. The results may not be what we expected or even wanted, but we are open to what life brings our way, we will be truly blessed. Feelings of appreciation become real when you express them and mean them.
