montfort

This was taken on the last day at the Montfort before hubby was transferred to a larger hospital in the city.  Isn’t this just the most welcoming space.

My nephew took this other one a while back, for me it give me the same sense of tranquility as the one I took the other day when leaving the Montfort.

Whatever, or where you find your “calm” today…. enjoy it.

Wordless Wednesday -tranquility

just a little farther

There are times when you travel down a back road,  that the country side beckons to travel just a little further, and even lures you down a long forgotten, overgrown dirt road.  Just enough width for you to slowly inch your way, so that the brush doesn’t leave a trail on the side of the vehicle, and your muffler if you are lucky, will make it intact, till you find a place to turn around.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

You see signs of previous activities, but little else, the farther you go, the land opens up, and you see nature the way it is intended to be enjoyed. No parking lots, and fast food shacks, just the outdoors.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

We were able to find a place to park off the single road we’d been on, and made the time to climb the embankment and sit a spell..  The dogs loved it, even though they had to dive, they swam and played, enjoying the freedom of being in that space and time, just as we did.  What is it about the human race that we all want to travel to foreign lands, and only feel that we’ve been on a holiday, if we fight the traffic to the airport, wait in airport lobbies, and sit like sardines in metal contraptions that fly us through congested skies.  To arrive in an exotic place that isn’t home, (to us) rush around to try to see everything there is to see, then tired and over spent, we head home.  Back into the crowded airports, stand in line to go through customs, maybe even be detained.  Then on arrival back home, we still have to get to our homes.. only to be faced with a pile of mail we have to deal with, maybe a good night’s sleep, and then we are back at work, dealing with the backlog of “stuff” that was what we wanted to escape with our well-earned holiday.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

When really, not very far from where you live now, just by driving off the main roads. you will find a wonderland, that is pure, unpopulated by commerce and just a little farther, down the road waiting to be discovered.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Every time we venture off the tedious road of routine, we allow our “selves” to really holiday.  A holiday is when we re-energize, re-group, reconnect with the person we are.  Nature is the only true balm for the “soul”

Tranquility

Sometimes we need to simply BE

To relax, listen, and drift

Our mind allowed to coast  along waves of music that take us to another realm..

Join me today in a silent meditation…

Let the ambient sounds clear and cleanse your tired and weary spirit…

Follow along, enjoy the peace and tranquility..

Now and always..

Buenos dias – Good Morning!

Tranquil is the day when I know that you are with me,,, like the stillness of the water on a calm day, I feel at peace, although there is activity under and around me, I am able to sit quietly and enjoy whatever goodness you bring my way.  Let me pray today for the blessings in my life, let me seek to further improve my life with you.  For you are the air that I breathe, and the force within, that keeps me going….

Thank you for another beautiful day.  May the love and light you grant me, unfold into all I meet and greet today, for they too  share in this journey we are on… forever and always, amen.

Today is a new day! ¿como esta?

1942970bb6ab0c17a78454524ec46e59Seamlessly the days become night, and night becomes day, the skies are  ever changing and kaleidoscopic.  The constantly changing patterns and colours  provide inspiration and backdrops for our activities and encounters during the day. On first waking, do you look out a window to take in the view, gauge the weather?  Dose what you see contribute to the “tone” of your day?  Or do you close your eyes and pray. connecting to the holy Spirit Mioyaookami /God.

a354e31eb68597a4315b76185aed731aDoes thunder and lightening have you running for cover?  Or do you delight at the rumble and imagine the giants in the sky are bowling and having fun.  That the lightening is the result of the bowling ball striking the kingpin and WOW its a strike, all the pins have dropped! YAY! Imagination, only for children, NO, it is a gift we all have and share, some use it more than others, that is a given….  I feel safe in saying that our imaginations will not suffer karoshi (Japan- word for death caused by overwork)  Start your day today with a big bang, celebrate a new day, new beginnings, move forward on a path towards newness, progress and growth.  Develop your skill in moving from the old to the new without a sense of loss.  Move with the current, not with fear, but with a sense of joy and expectation toward the experience just around the corner/bend.

Makoto on Ancestors’ day

timeGood Morning everyone, how are you today?  For those who are new to my blog, welcome.  Today is the 11th, of the month, in Perfect Liberty, the 11th is a day for remembering and expressing gratitude for the love and virtue of our ancestors.  In China and other countries, it was a natural and everyday part of life to honour our elders.  It is thanks to our ancestor’s virtue and Makoto (sincere effort) that we are here today.

The above picture, evoked a moment of tranquility from my memory banks.  A summer day, visiting in the country, playing in the tall grass, and escaping from the heat by playing by a creek that ran behind the old country store a relative had in the Algonquin Park area of Ontario.  For a city brat, this was so different and a totally new experience.  When you are young, you simply live the moments, you aren’t analyzing  or looking at your new friends with a ton of baggage in your head, you are taking life in, and responding to it with an innocence yet to be tested. You are living the moment, building your experiences in life, finding new emotions, discovering more of the world around you.

In my research this morning, I came across a picture of Betty White (actress) and a loaf of bread, interested in the connection I delved further into the post.  “Did you know that Betty White is older than sliced bread?” was the the sentence that went with the picture.  Of course, I know of Betty White, I’ve seen her in many sitcoms, but to be honest, I never really thought of her as a person of age, probably because in my journey through life, I have been entertained by her talents over the years, and have simply accepted her as “Betty”.  We all do it in some way form or other..  we take someone or some thing for granted….

Today, lets take a moment to give thanks with Makoto to our past, and our present!……. Let us ask for guidance and protection so we can continue to live the PL Way.. (a life of Perfect Liberty) (life with God/Tao)

Really another Friday!

stillnessGood Morning everyone!  Bonjour!  How can it be Friday again so soon…..  isn’t this a fantastic photo, the photographer captured not only the moment, but his/her framing, depth and vision produced an image that evokes stillness and tranquility.  I can actually feel the quiescence of the moment, it  imparts a state of quietude that I not only see, but feel.  The picture holds my attention, I am captured by and  lost in the moment.  The photographer is an artist, who balanced the visual  of the scenery before his/her eyes, with what he/she wanted to present. This required focus, (mindfulness).  Once captured, the image had to be studied and conceptualized, so that the cropping would  reflect the artists rendition of that moment in time.

So much went on behind the scenes of this photograph, and the moment you and I are now sharing. Because of this, we are able to share in a moment of silence together,  and delight in moment of appreciation.  Let us try to put a prayerful mind, and our hearts into everything we say and do today.  When you look at someone today – look deep into their eyes and silently say, The light of the Universe in me, salutes the light of God in you.    Blessings all,   Oyashikiri

Beautiful Words Make for a Beautiful Soul.

PL teaching for day 27 >

Let’s choose to use words that are kind, polite and courteous.  Kind words will bring about a kind heart.  Beautiful Words Make for a Beautiful Soul.

Often when I look around, I see people engrossed in their electronic gadgets, intent on receiving or sending a message.  I saw one woman pushing a stroller with one hand while holding the phone to her ear.  In the dress shop, another lady was talking away while she pulled out one garment after another to inspect.   A young man was hurrying through the mall, coffee in one hand and his iPhone in the other.  I wondered how he could text with the one hand, and still maneuver through the crowd and not bump into something.

If we are constantly tied to a phone, when do we allow the mind/brain to chill?  If taking a walk through the park, we are distracted  having an electronic conversation, do we see the flowers? smell the fresh cut grass and lush vegetation? hear the call and singing of the birds?  A friend told me that the way her family communicates with each other is via text.  Does that mean that we no longer enjoy personal contacts/visits.  Is tea time a thing of the past?  If I’m the person on the other end of the line, are you really connecting with me, or are you shopping?  Just wondering………

Relaxation is total peace.

When you relax completely, there is total silence.

This overwhelming sense of tranquility is really what meditation is about. (mindfulness)

Neutral stillness of the mind, renews the tired soul, (regeneration)
