a new chapter begins

As the miles sped by, Rosie wondered what her new home would be like. She knew that she would like being with young people again, it was such a delight to watch them go from teen girls to young adults. It was already past the supper hour, so she would have only a short time with them before it would be time to call it a day.
The few belongings she had and her grandmother’s old dresser had already been sent on ahead, with luck, there would be time for a nice long bath, and some time to write in her diary.
Back at the house the girls were tidying up. They had been told that Rosie would be arriving, they wanted the place to look clean and tidy. The old dresser had been moved into what would be Rosie’s room, they hoped that when Rosie arrived, they would get a chance to see it up close and ask her about it.
Unfortunately it was the next day before they got to meet and greet Rosie. There had been a delay, Rosie had gotten in after their bedtime.

Rosie got to settle into her new “home” at her own pace, and in her own time. Since the girls had not been up when she got in. It would be so nice to fall into bed. Her room had been nicely set up. and her dresser was ready for her to unpack before getting ready for bed. Already she had ideas on how she would fix up her private space.
Tomorrow would be another day. Plenty of time to meet the girls and see what kind of projects she could do with them.
Sometimes in life we have plans, but due to circumstances beyond our control, things don’t work out the way we would like them to, or as we expected they would.
That is when it is important to accept the changes, and appreciate the time we have gained to do something else.

OK I have no idea, what I was thinking of when I did this, but it happened. Years later, I still don’t know what it was that drew me to put this “idea” together. Knowing I did it, always gave me pause. I thought to simply throw it out, yet it sat in the back garden for some time, a reminder that not everything I do, or come up with is “picture perfect”
At the time, I really liked the idea. The glove, the hand, I’m not sure, but it still might be out back too. We are cleaning up back there, it is time for a change. I know if they are there, it will be time to “let them go”
I remember putting this “character” into the old wood bird house, so he would be out of the elements. It is all overgrown now, but I saw through the branches that he is still there. It would require cutting away half of the evergreen now to get him out… so… he’ll get to stay. Actually maybe it was a she..
The garden guardians have come and gone, they tended and hosted the wildlife that used our land to travel safely through the urban sprawl. There is beauty in all that nature provides, and there is an unseen world around us that some of us see, and other’s don’t. Never-the-less, the world of imagination and fantasy never fails to capture our attention, when we listen to the wind whisper softly through the trees, or hear it howl when it is voicing discontent. This week we’ve heard the heavens bowling in celebration of a summer’s eve. the bowling balls landing with loud thunder as they rolled across the skies.
