12.26

Make today a memorable day. Let’s try to put our whole heart into whatever we say or do, as our unique signature.

Perfect Liberty 2022.26

For days, weeks I have been pulling things out of dark corners of my work room, have I used this, will I use it. I have filled two big tote boxes with craft/art supplies, that someone else can use. The calendar new year is coming and I like to have “things” started for the new year. In my case, the target date is January 22, when it will be the lunar new year (Chinese New Year) it changes every year depending on the lunar cycle.

It has been an interesting time, “why” have I got so much of “this and that”.. how many pairs of scissors do I need? Card stock!!! let me tell you about card stock… the quality of what was “normal” years ago, is long gone. If it is around, it must be speciality stock and very pricey. The other day I bought cookies to have should I have visitors over the holidays. I was shocked when I opened the box to find 3 rows instead of 4 and the size of the cookie … were considerably smaller. Have you purchased a box of chocolate covered marshmallow cookies lately?

todays’ meditation.. simply said, hard to keep in mind all day!

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

Oyashikiri

This little character was going to have his place on the plate no matter what any other bird had to say about it. He clearly felt that he was there first, and was going to partake until he was finished. The other bird was totally unfazed, unfortunately he moved and was too blurred to keep in the picture. Personalities, we all have them!!

  1. I have to laugh here — was just writing the kids and saying I was going to ‘pack’ — uh, no, I’m going to SORT and toss and shred … LOL Part of me wanted to ask for some of your cardstock and then I caught myself up short and asked myself “why?” Arrrrrgh… And that bird! ROFL here. “No one’s getting any seed until I’ve had my fill!” I’ve seen it numerous times over the years. Gluttony in action! Have a fantastic day… mine has started with a smile and a chuckle!

    • listen.. I have already given away a TON of cardstock… and I have Tons left. I hate to part with it because a lot of it is the good heavy weight card stock of days gone by… BUT… like you….I’ve moved on.. the other day I found some of my junk journals.. where you rip and shred paper/cardstock and redo pages in old books etc. I love the look.. BUT there is that word again… will I actually do it again… I doubt it.. if you are a very creative person, who loves to explore and express yourself, I can tell you how to do it virtually, that helped me a lot. I can do so much virtually, and I don’t have to deal with the results in my studio/office. ???

    • go have a look at http://www.secondlife.com It can be challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it… it is an amazing world. You like trains, there are train fanatics who build virtual trains, and places for them to travel etc. I was not computer literate at all (well novice really) when I first went in.. I have been using SL since 2007… just visit as a tourist .. see what you think of it.. you will have to create an avatar for yourself to get around.. but they now have wonderful options .. which they didn’t in my day… and a lot of helpers to help newcomers. IF you go in.. let me know your avatar name so that I can hook up with you and help if you need it.

  2. Oh yes… I have two addictions in life (well, maybe one or two others, but who’s counting?) Fabric and paper. I create–I love to make things and give them away. It’s like giving a piece of me to others I care about–to always have a bit of me to remind them of my presence in their life. And yes, I would love to learn how to transfer into digital rather than physical art. I have a box of Artist Trading Cards that I don’t know what to do with. Arrrgh…

  3. Just wanted to add that I checked out Second Life but I think it’s going to take me a bit to wade through all of the ins and outs of it. Looks fascinating, though. Thanks!

  4. lol.. I hear you. when I started there was no one to turn to.. but I was determined, I needed that outlet. someday… who knows.. hope you are having a good day… If you get adventurous, I can actually give you one of my “spares” I had avatars I used for modeling clothes/makeups, jewelry etc. they now sit gathering dust in my inventory. we would have to connect through skype so that I could talk you through … we save it for another day, we have lots of time.
