dreaming

Sometimes I need to let the world drift by – at one time I felt my participation and involvement was not something one could simply ignore. – I’ve grown up now…. I recognize that time to rejuvenate, time to simply let the body and mind rest is important to a sound, healthy, balanced life.

The simple task of walking to the front of the house to collect the recycle container, the two dogs bouncing and jumping happily beside me was pleasant. The neighbour walking her dog, stopped two houses away so that the dogs would not have to interact. I waved.. she nodded.. then the dogs and I made our way back to the backyard. A moment in time.

Simplicity. Life doesn’t have to be complicated. It is the human mind that insists on complicating the moment, with what if, maybe, perhaps if… NOOOO…. sit .. close your eyes.. open a door or window.. let the air move freely around, pushing out the stale winter air. it is a new season.

Develop new ideas through your imagination – softly and flexibly. If you could find a way to add a twist, you will have more joy.

today 15th.

Good morning everyone, this time change is not happening smoothly – my darn body just doesn’t want to go along with it this time. I don’t recall having this problem before. I simply do not want to be out driving in the dark, and at this time of the morning it is D A R K .

LOL.. the calendar is supporting me on this….

Express your feelings straight away. It will be good if you could express your feelings as they are to people around you, when you are happy or when you are troubled. Also it will be a good chance for you to get to know others.

‘m late..

What happens when you are late for an important date.. and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. With the time change the body just doesn’t want to wake up any other time but when it is used to doing so. it woke on time, it is the clocks that are wrong. bah humbug!

Mastering the moods, the meds, the madness that is day to day living – can it be done – you bet it can! Take time today to S T O P whatever you are doing… and just pause, close your eyes .. take a deep breath and slowly let it go before reopening your eyes. When you pause to hold your breath.. be aware of your neck and shoulders.. give your head a little shake and let your shoulders drop.. when you release the breath you took in. Slowly open your eyes.. and viola…. another new opportunity.. it is a new moment.

Enjoy What happens

Everyday is a new beginning. In PL, Precept # 1 is Life is Art… I like to think of every day being a new canvas.

In 2022, day 26 had a quote that was one I referred to often,

Tomorrow being the 11th. we (PL Church) will have a service at 10 a.m. for everyone who can attend. Ancestors Day. Through this ceremony, we express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors and ask for their protection and guidance as we continue to ive the PL Way. See you tomorrow if you can make it!

Sun bathing

This bench is where I did my sunbathing. I cleared off most of the snow, gathered my coat around me and lay down.. closed my eyes and basked in the sunshine. There was a gentle warmth that warmed my face. I was in a happy space. It was so quiet, there were no birds singing, no little critters running about. I had the place to myself. Where was I, in the middle of a bog. It was at least a twenty minute walk to the spot where I was lying down. The boardwalk you can see still has snow packed on the boards, but with the use of my walking stick it was doable. The first bench I came to, (boardwalk photo) was totally covered in hard packed snow. Make no mistake, this area is still in its winter wardrobe.

Sun bathing in winter is not something I usually do. This was a first actually. Would I do it again, yes… it was pleasant, and I liked the silence. If you look at the bench photo, you can see where I dropped a peanut in case a little critter wanted to join me.. I had no takers. What time was all this, somewhere between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30..

March 1

If the giraffe here was in my back yard, maybe his head would be out of the snow, maybe. That is how much snow has fallen these past weeks. Good morning, Bom dia a todos. Here we are heading into another month. A few days ago, so much of the snow accumulation we’ve had Jan. and early Feb. was really disappearing, Now. . . we have had so much snow fall the last 48 plus hours.. the snow piles in areas where it had not been taken away ( our street had been cleared of the snow piles) the snow is deep enough that cars were getting stuck on our street, and neighbours and passer bys had to help get them going again,

Snow on my back steps was over 10″ deep almost the depth of my broom ( I was trying to sweep the steps, determining if it was a good idea to venture out or not.) I don’t know when it stopped snowing, I do know that I went out twice (in the back) to shovel a path for the dogs.. Had to do it a couple of times, that is how hard and fast the snow was falling. There is one section of the yard where the snow is taller than I am.. I am 5’3″ and shrinking.

Today’s calendar message is about World Peace.

Let’s pray for World Peace. The path to World Peace will open up with each person’s prayer for peace.

snow you say

This was yesterday ..and we are due to get a whole lot more starting tonight into the day tomorrow. It might have been relatively mild winter, but it has not been lacking in snow. We have had a lot of snow… so much so that the contractors who clean up the roads, laneways etc,. will exceed their contracted amounts of snow and patrons will be facing additional charges this year for snow maintenance.

To all our Brazilian readers, this is the area to the side and back of the church building. You can see how much snow has accumulated. In Japan there are areas that get snow, but in the parts where no snow falls, you can see what the church grounds are like here in Canada at this time of year.

Is it so hard to smile? Sometimes… yes sometimes I just don’t think of it.. not because I’m unhappy, I am just not a person who goes around with a smile on my face. I can be deliriously happy, still no smile on my face.. it is an internal happiness.. a contentment. However, having said that… when I come across someone and smile when I greet them.. I hear it in my voice, it does sound friendlier. AND for that second when strangers pass/meet on a path… and a smile is exchanged, I do feel a pleasant glow after the exchange.

Whoa Slow Down

Remember the rabbit in Alice in wonderland.. ” I’m late.. I’m late… for a very important date!” Is this YOU. Sometimes it is me, and duh… I’m retired… yet I still have moments of “OMG look at the time” and I know that the wildlife and other critters don’t have watches. I stopped wearing a watch years ago. Curious, do you still wear a watch?

Being asked for a favour is a chance. When someone as for a favour from you this is a chance for you to help others. Face the chance proactively.
