winding road

There are days when the way ahead is just so darn daunting.  You know you need to continue and persevere, yet you seem to be encountering one challenge after another.  Stand still for a moment, and quiet the mind.  Allow moments to pass without thinking about what needs to be done, or how to do something. Then readdress the situation with an appreciation for what needs to be done.  Take initiative in tackling the work or task with makoto (sincerity).  Let your strong resolve carry you to the next  bend or fork in the road.

winding road 2

We are all on the same journey, only we have each our own landscapes to discover. Life is never dull and it never stands still. Often we travel parts of the journey on our own, but, we are never ever alone, THE LIFE FORCE OF THE UNIVERSE (GOD) is always with us.  I heard a wonderful gospel song yesterday that I hope you enjoy, no matter what philosophy you follow it has a positive message ….

There are times when we feel that we are alone, we never are.  It is only that we are so consumed with pain and suffering, that the world around us seems very far away.

At times we seek solitude simply so we can quiet our minds and pray.  We close our eyes and search for the calm within. Pain, whether chronic or ongoing, is such a challenge to bear. Energy levels drop so rapidly when we are focused on dealing with the discomforts we face, to some it is on a daily basis.  There are those who need our prayers today,  when we pray, please add the brothers and sisters whose names we may not know, but who we do know suffer and need a lift from our prayers.

Together in silent prayer, we are a strong force, and healing energy will find its way to those who need it today.  The Universe is always listening/aware, through prayer – dedication and faith we forge ahead to bridge the challenges we face.  We live the moment and we move on.

Tomorrow will be another day, with the love of all who pray today, know that we will all  be blessed, For we will have prayed together, to bring strength and comfort to those in need this day.  As you sit quietly I lay hands on all who need the special touch today.  Feel the warmth of my hands on your shoulders as I take in and share in your discomfort.  You are never alone.  You may not see me physically but I am there. All who  pray with me, surround you with healing thoughts.  Feel the love around you, let it surround you, be in the moment NOW.

Thank you everyone for sharing in this moment of prayer

decay

Isn’t this a beautiful still capture.  At one time this table had to have been in an open space where a family could picnic, or hikers in the woods could stop and rest.  Now it sits gathering moss and Mother Nature has come calling with lacy foliage to dress the weather worn wood.  The young trees and shrubs are slowly making their way over, spreading out their arms in welcome.  The woodland creatures now have a place to sit and sun, and in the seasons where nuts and pine cones dot the floor, they can picnic on the moss covered table.  Invite their friends and have a gathering party. There will be places for the crows, red wings, and jays in the branches of the trees. What a cheerful playground this will be now that Nature has once again made it theirs.

texas backwoods fishing at sunrise

It is Father’s Day here in Canada and the United States, this is where many would like to be enjoying Nature, just man and his rod.  Men are not alone in their passion for fishing, but we seem to relate fishing to the men.   This picture was pinned by A Bachelor & His Grill =^_^=  .  Would I like to put on a pair hip waders and be there, in a flash.  I can hear the early morning sounds of a waking woodlands, smell the fresh morning air, feel the soft mist on my face. Sigh, yes, such a moment would be delicious.  That said if one ole nasty mosquito came along it would break the spell.  Oh dear, the city girl in me just popped out.

Morning smiles all around … feel good smile, share a laugh,  be happy happy happy.  To all father’s out there, Happy Father’s Day, and to all the women out there who have to be both parents,  have  double barreled hollering day of  joy filled moments.  Make the day count.

balance - photo by Emba As

Balance is the order of the  day – activity –  as shown in this first picture that  I discovered on a Google plus site (Emba As).  I meant to land and  retrieve the picture, however he has some other amazing shots that if you have time to visit, check them out.  So I enjoyed an interlude of soaking up the ambience found on his site.   The daring, the confidence, and the faith of these riders, to me is mind boggling. but then I am not a cyclist.  =^_^= It must be an exhilarating feeling!

Italy,Venicem by the canal by Neil Cherry on FivehundredpxBalance after activity is rest.  What a wonderful location to enjoy a relaxing time with friends, or alone just taking in the view and atmosphere of the place.  ( By the Canal was taken by Neil Cherry, and found on Fivehundredpx)  There are wonderful cafe’s and outdoor patio’s almost  anywhere now,  often found on busy city streets, and crowded shopping  districts,I rather liked the quiet feeling that being by the water would bring.  Somehow I picture that the boats would drift by adding to the charm of the moment.

And yes, I did mean that Friday the 13th is a lucky day… I’m not alone, I also know that there are many who have a dread of the day …I accept that the world is filled with differences, that is what makes us all unique.  Good things happen every day when you live looking for the positives in life.

Make today, your day..smile. smiles are healthy for the body, mind and spirit.

How often are you asked how you are, and find that before you can even formulate an answer, the person talking with you has moved on and is chatting away about this or that in their lives.  Is it something you are sometimes guilty of yourself?  Why do you think this happens?  When I was still actively working in Health Care, I would often ask the client, “what do you think causes this/these  “symptom(s)?”  Almost 90% of the time, the answer related to a stress of some kind, and more often then not, there were more then one stress factors in that person’s life.

Q – “what do you think could be a solution”

answer – “time away, getting away”  were two of the most stated forms of  actions required for relief sought ..

Ah that elusive cabin in the woods, that dream of peace and quiet that would be achieved if only we could get away from the daily grind and get out of the city.  Those of you who live in the country and have seen city types come out to live in the quiet rural communities, only to realize in a short period of time that all the conveniences of city living don’t exist … One friend said..”they want to be in the country, but live like they did in the city”.   The grass is always greener on the other side.  We’ve all heard that saying before.

When we live in the moment, every moment is an opportunity for that ” oh wow feels sooo  good”  time in space.

Whether it is sinking into a refreshing sudsy bath after a long day of activity, or you are floating along on the Bayou, be present in all you do, that way, when someone says “how are you today”, if they don’t allow you to answer, it won’t matter, you will know they need you to “listen”..   The “Quiet” is missing from their lives at that moment in time.Bayou swamp-Louisiana Michelle Morris

In exercise of meditation /concentration, trying to force results will only lead to an undesired outcome. Changes no matter what they are, ( although at the time we don’t think it is what we want), in time we learn, they are usually the best for us, and the catalyst to an improved and better state of  BEING.

Let us pray/meditate today for all who need to feel an extra boost of positive energy coming their way.  Take time today to touch base with a friend, smile at a stranger, wish people a good day.  May YOUR day be blessed with the knowledge that you are loved.. always and forever…           Oyashikiri

PL (Perfect Liberty) lesson of the day >Willingly Take on Tasks That are Behind the Scenes <   Be the one who is able to proactively take on the troublesome tasks that no one likes and for which they are not recognized.  by doing so you will be filled with a genuine feeling of accomplishment.

Yesterday I was on a road trip with a dear friend, we took to the highway with a simple goal, a day away.  We were blessed with wonderful weather, the bluest of skies and good roads. Crossing over into the States was quick, no long line ups, and we easily found the way to the places we had more or less decided to explore. The for sure destination was the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort for the noon hour buffet special.

Yes, those are big honking coconut breaded shrimps you see on top, and Yes i did take a picture of the dessert plate, and NO, I’m now showing you.  Suffice to say it was very good, and totally enjoyed.  For those wondering where all the greens were, they were in the car, we munched  on raw sugar snap peas and other veggies as we drove along.  No chips or junk food for us.

night, coast line

The whole day was one moment of living after another, we enjoyed the sights along the way, the company, the experience, we meandered , rested, and traveled again.  Home at a reasonable hour, tired but  happy…. that is what I call.. a holiday, =^_^=

Is a day off really a day off.  When we go on vacation, flying to another destination, or for that matter, going to the cottage.  Is it really “free time”.  Always there is the preparations, the planning, the packing.  What is “free time”  what does that mean, what does it imply.  Does everything you do have to have a purpose?  If you have a back yard, as an adult how often do you, yourself use it?  I know gardeners garden, and children play but who tends the yards, cuts the grass, weeds the beds.  There is always something to do.  If it is a cottage, you have to open up the cottage, and while there, the same chores that are often performed at home in the city, or often repeated only now you are in a country setting.  Life can be busy can’t it.  Do you ever ask yourself what you are getting out of all this “busy”.  There is no easy answer, no simple solution, because we are all so unique in our thinking and how we live our lives.  This is what makes the world such a wonderful place.  Like nature, we are an assortment of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, minerals, rocks and living organisms, etc. etc. even the weather has its moods. It can dazzle, delight, scare and frighten us, we accept that is what it is, Why is it so difficult for us to accept the differences in others.

Freedom is a state of mind.  Happiness is a state of mind. Our minds belong to each and everyone of us alone.  No one can read our minds,  nor can they change our minds.  We own our thoughts, and our actions.  We can share, but we cannot change anyone but ourselves.  What is peace and tranquility to one, may not be to another. Challenges are a constant in our lives, when we see them as opportunities for growth, we are working at attaining peace in our own lives.  Peace begins within.

Prayer of Protection

The light of God surrounds us

The love of God enfold us

The power of God protects us

The presence of God watches over us

Where ever you footsteps take you today, may the day be one of many blessings.  Each day, a new door opens, and often another will close.  Nothing is forever, trying  to hold back the ongoing changes that are the essence of life.  Church, (temple) is where you find your spiritual calm, your inner Self,  Some find it in the quiet communion with the Universe while they wander the sea-shore, or kayak into isolated bays.  Other’s feel it the moment they walk into their favourite place of worship.
