Second Life is a world of new beginnings. It has allowed my creativity to soar, this is a good clip, please enjoy

A couple of days ago Linden Lab completely changed the look of the Second Life website.

I think that this is yet another very exciting step in the right direction, improving Second Life, its reputation and the general experience of (new) users.

Personally I don’t like the idea of having to scroll on websites, especially if, at first site, the page doesn’t appear to be any larger than what you see.

In other words, when you first load the website, you see just the main image and you can’t see that there is more below it, unless you actually notice your scroll bar.

Screen Shot 2014-06-06 at 19.30.57

And that is a shame because the best things on the page are below the picture, a picture that, I have to say, I don’t find very exciting.

It is nice to see part of an editing or even building process illustrated, but do new users actually…

Maintain a prayerful mind, put your heart (sincerity) into everything you do and think.  If you hold stress and worry in your mind, they will manifest themselves in your body as tension and pain. When you seek balance,  thankfulness and joy in your mind, your body will  radiate good  health (Tao)

trails, Shenandoagh rocky trail via jdynbttn

Some  trails are rockier than others.  Some challenges are just not a simple fix.  Some challenges require a lot of faith.  If you are bent on achieving your goal, you have to continually put one foot in front of the other.  Sometimes along the way, you may have to stop, rest, regroup, but… then you begin again.  One foot in front of the  other.

Having the proper footwear will help greatly in the way you progress over the rocks and obstacles along the way. You faith in God, your inner strength, your ability to connect with the knowledge you’ve acquired to combat the various terrien you will find along your journey is important, paramount actually to your success.  There is no such thing as failure, only lessons learned along the way.  Success is a state of mind.  Makoto (sincerity) and dedication (sticking to your goal) will see you through the rough patches.

landscape arch, longest natural arch in world Trevor Warren

Good morning everyone!

How we respond to others, how we greet our friends and acquaintances along the way, speak volumes about how we respect and feel towards fellow travelers in this world of ours.  Make it a point to be the first to say hello, smile, or greet someone you meet. A smile goes a long way in making the difference in someone else’s day.  Good relationships begin with the first hello. Sincerity (Makoto) plays a huge factor in the development of a friendship.  Be a friend, be someone who cares.

I have written to the person who shared this photo on Pinterest, I would love to know where this is.  If anyone out there recognizes the location, please.. drop me a line. It is alledged that it is the longest natural arch known.

Fire and ice

fire

Like a moth to a flame I was drawn

at first the call … was a simple spark

then the  fire spread…

my gaze  held captive… by  dancing flames

I was lost… lost in the embrace of

of an unearthly man made calm

<> on January 23, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois.

A blazing fire turns to ice as seen in this photograph (CBSlocal.com) – Firefighters battling a massive fire, during frigid temperatures. (Chicago 1.23.13)

fire coal and smoke, desktop-wallpaper.org

When love first blooms, the fire’s spell spreads like molten lava

weaving highs and lows that ignite and burn deep and deeper

all too soon the fire’s intensity starts to weaken

Only the dying embers remain

…and…

soon they will be gone

leaving only the memory

no more … no less

The eternal flame within,

our own true passion

 the Divine essence of Life

never dies, never fails us

for we are born ONE

fire molten

True everlasting  love

is not outside our SELVES

but the spiritual flame

that gives us life.

now … always

Along the St Lawrence river, the waterway the divides Canada from the United States, in our part of the Norther Hemisphere.  Quiet little rest stops that allow the traveler to stop and rest along their journey.

Kingston 6.1 018

This park was just outside of  Brockville, and yes the shore line you see off in the distance is the United States.  There was such a line up for fish and chips at the shop we always go to, that we settled for hamburgers at a c hip stand.  The cod /haddock would have been wonderful, but on a Sunday, the tourists were packed into the place, we can return another day.  To the right where these pleasure crafts are moored, is a trail that  goes down towards Fort Wellington, and a now derelict pier.  Soon this area will be full of people out to enjoy the sunshine.  Yesterday we met other dog walkers, and a few other nature lovers, but it was the supper hours so, for us, we enjoyed the lazy slow ambiance.  Saw big steamers in the water in Kingston, but I was  on the wrong side of the car to get a picture. =^_^=  next time…

Shad flies

We did run into swarms of shad flies.  Now this is an experience in and of itself   For the time they died by smashing into our car and all over the windshield, it was like something out of the science fiction novel.  You can read about the insect here http://www.mynewwaterfronthome.com/fishflies.aspx  The car will be visiting a car wash  today, this task is at the top of the to do list.

LOL this meal had nothing to do with our trip yesterday, (I wish)…. this was the meal I had during my visit to the States with my sisters in May.  It just looked so good, I wanted to share it.   I love veggies.  Mondays and Wednesdays at the Casino the buffets are half price. (Just past Massena, NY in the Indian Reserve itself)  I knew of the Casino because there is a fabulous quilt fabric shop just down the road from the Casino)  NB if you plan on trying it out, there is smoking allowed in the buildings there)

Lots of people love to spend time on the water, I lost count of all the marinas and boat launch sites we saw along the way myself I find quiet along the water, no so much on it.  A good hike into the mountains on a fall day, now mmm… nice.. that is more my speed.  LOL no way at this time of year.. uh uh, no thank.. the biters are out…

What about you.  Ready for a change of pace?

Sycophatic fig

fig tree house

Old testament – Micah 4:4     Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree

An expression not heard too often these days..”I don’t give a fig”. What happens to these expressions that were once very common, and now not heard at all. A sycophant was usually an informer.  The word derived from the Greek word. sukophantes, this word was formed from sukon = fig, and phainein =to show.  At one time it was illegal to export figs from ancient Anthens.

Now, we can walk into almost any grocery store and find figs.

New testament – 1 John 4:7   Dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God

Today’s service instead or our usual Sunday service, we will be celebrating June 1. Day of Peace.  In PL (Perfect Liberty) we perform this ceremony for World Peace on the first day of each month..We rededicate ourselves to live as peaceful human beings. We pray for not only those around us, but for the happiness and peace of the entire world.

Spread your love today,  love is such a precious gift.        Have a great Sunday everyone!          Namaste  …    Oyashikiri

I reach out to lend a helping hand, the stranger looks at me and I feel the inner battle that shows in her tear filled eyes.  The woman had fallen, somehow she had missed the step up to the sidewalk and lay hurting on the ground.  I stopped my car and ran over to where she now sat rubbing her ankle.  I could see the indecision, she was hurting, but I was a stranger and her first reaction and words were ..” no-no thank you, I am fine”  My background is health care, I took in her now swelling ankle area, the tear-stained face, her headscarf had fallen askew with the fall, she was elderly, I could not leave her on the road.  I heard my therapist to client/patient voice speaking, it was instinct and years of experience talking.  My voice and actions knowing where  gently to lift and help her stand were automatic.  Something inside her responded to the  experience in my voice and movements.  Once standing, she was able to lean on me to get off the street corner an up onto the sidewalk.

While this was happening, another car pulled up, with a lady driver in similar dress attire as the lady I was helping.  She too stopped her car and got out.  The relief at seeing someone from her own community flooded the lady’s face.  The other woman was  able to speak her language.  I explained what happened, the newcomer thanked me, and took over, helping the woman into her car.  I got back in my car and drove home.  Yes I am one of these people who some call a “do good- er”   if I can help, I offer.  I make time.  The learning curve for me is that not everyone wants my help. That is very humbling.

peony -flickr

A Peony is a beautiful flower, when I had them in the garden, I would “lust” after them, waiting for the flower to open and bloom and then stand close, drinking in their fragrance.  At first I was hungry to bring the beauty inside, so that the room would be permeated with the scent.  When I realized that no matter how carefully you examined them, often you brought in the ants too..  I decided that leaving them in their own environment would be better. =^_^=   Sometimes what we want, and what is best, are not the same.  This saying is worth sharing with you again.

We have a neighbour who is in his mid 90’s he still goes out, cuts the lawn, he sits down in lotus fashion to plant and weed, he walks without a cane, goes up and down his steps, he really is truly amazing in what he accomplishes. (he travels and works at his own pace, but he gets it done)  We know he does these things because we are right next door and see him out and about.  Someone passing the other day, rushed to help him when they saw him trying to fix his lawnmower, his voice, old and worn came through loud and clear, “no thank you, I’m fine”
