timing

street phot by Dave Hoefler,flickrBeing in the right place at the right time, having your camera at the ready, and the lighting  just what is needed to capture a moment in time.

When I saw this photo, taken by John Westrock, posted on Flickr, I thought, “what a good capture? and moved away, but something drew me back to look more closely. I must have contemplated on this picture for some time… I saw how the graffiti in the background sat like a halo over his head.

I wondered if the two shoes on his feet matched.  Some how, I felt that this man was having a peaceful morning smoke and was contemplating life in his own way. I decided he was content just basking in his solitude.

Of course this is totally a fabrication of my own.  I wasn’t there, I don’t know the man and have no idea just how long ago this was taken, or where it was taken.

What I do know is that the artist/photographer had a talent and a good eye to see what he did and click that shutter when he did.  I thought I’d visit his page to see what else he had posted.  Hellooooo..  not what I expected at all.

Timing, patience,total focus on the moment, these are the ingredients of  a good capture, a moment caught in time, some are worthy saving, some are not. Some moments will change you forever…

So it is in our daily lives, I began my thoughts this morning with the 1st photo, that I now know was taken sometime in 2013, research and dedicated time to search precious moments, a luxury, no I don’t think so.  I believe we owe it to ourselves to make each moment count, in a way that allows us at the end of the day to say, “thank you God” I had a wonderful day.

When we live practicing the  Precepts and Principles of PL (Perfect Liberty) we grow to know that no matter what the day brings our way, we can deal with it, we can embrace the moment and learn just what it is about ourselves that caused that moment to take place.

In PL, there is a Precept, #7, Everything exists in Relativity –  Precept # 11 is – Always be with God, two of my favourite meditations.

Timing

when we find ourselves truly embraced

and caught up in the moment

we often will find that we have come face to face

with  an unspoken fear

and in that very moment

the fear is no longer buried by layers of the past

for you have recognized it, at last.

What are my 3 wishes for today.  I pray that I remain, calm, confident and centered. It is not because I’m concerned or worried about the hospital procedure, but rather it is the coping with my inner disquiet when I am asked to drink something that I find totally distasteful, and it produces a physical reaction from my body that I don’t enjoy living through.

Have you seen what they are doing to watermelons in Japan?  They are growing them in clear square containers, more convenient to the consumer I would guess, but that is not what nature intended of the fruit.  I have gone now a long time without solid food, and truth be known except for the first couple of hours when I got hungry, I’ve not really thought much of food, since I had to deal with my diabetic self, reacting to the lack of food and the awful sickly sweet liquid they want me to force down.

Unlike the helpless fruits that are forced to grow in confined spaces, I have choices.  The procedure today is a simple one, done I’m sure zillions of times on adult humans everywhere, a must in the course of our regular health check ups.  So thought my body will have to endure this interruption in its daily routines, my mind, and focus will be on this New England get away.  I will be calm, because I’m happier in a calm state, and I will stay centered knowing that nature is all around me. Nature will continue to provide serenity to all those who seek the freedom  of God’s  embrace  and the blessings that are ours when we live in a state of prayer, keeping our connection to the Universe alive.. always in our hearts.

Centered in God, I am

Confident, and I am

I knew

I knew I had gone in before

but today, I met with a closed-door

no matter how hard I pushed

I couldnt get in

We encounter daily problems

in similar ways

they just seem to plague our days

yet, if we step back

and take a different tack

we often find we were on the right track

only our approach needed new perspective

we did in fact, know

only our focus was inactive

it is important in life

to stop and allow your mind to chill

your body to relax

so that each day can really begin

brand new.

Happy July 4th

Happy July 4th. to all of you who are having a week-end of celebrations.  When we were in Upper NY State at the start of the week, we saw many preparations already being put into place. Banners and flags, it was very festive, now that the day is here, I expect there will be dazzling fireworks and a lot of get togethers.  Somehow when I think of July 1st (Canada Day) and July 4th. (American Independence Day) I relate it to happy get togethers with friends and family.

If we approach everything in life with the firm belief that everything is for the best, and that the experience, or moment will be one that will provide growth and development,… what a positive it will be,

The days have been full of sunshine, although I’m told that in Texas it is also VERY hot.  Holland has been going through its own heat spell. Where I am i Canada, I look out and see the cherries ripening on the tree, the birds have been flying in and out of the branches having their morning treats.  Until  recently the Saskatoon berries were in abundance, if you drove by you would have seen me reaching up into the tree taking my share. =^_^=      Nature provides.

What a week-end, I feel like I’ve not stopped since Thursday. Used to having my own time, and travelling at my own speed, having to be somewhere 3x in one day, is really a learning experience. Each of the 3 places were in different parts of the city,one was even across the border in another Province.  That was one day, the next day was more of the same.  I like to think that I’m flexible and adaptable, but….. no….. it got done, but on both evenings I crashed early and slept 13 hours one night, and 11 the next.

Like the jaguar sleeping in the tree high above ground in the Amazon (Brazil) I was out for the count.  I had no trouble falling asleep, or staying asleep.  Both days were full, total focus was required on the events we attended.  We could have been anywhere, somewhere, we simply were.  When we are totally involved in the interactions we are focused on, the body, mind and spirit all come together, work together, and come time to shut down, take a break, its like a switch is flicked, and we are in dreamland.  “out for the count”

a fresh tender seedling

protected by the elements

you grew into a young man

strong,determined and resourceful

you married, had a family

and in turn, you sheltered

and gave your children the tools

they would require to grow

and succeed in/on their journey thru life

then one day, with your 100th year approaching

your work on earth was done

you were called away

your journey here was over

now…. your children

are left to mourn and say goodbye

saying goodbye is not the same for everyone

nor does each child really have the same memories of what was

for each child is unique, born at different times

their lessons, their knowledge base vary

often … the distance in their thinking

and the process to the solutions are and can be miles apart

The reality is that the Divine energy that connects us all

appears in different forms to each and every one of us

our past is ever-present in our moment

and our moments are always NOW

There is no real beginning or end

We either are, or we are not.

when love is pure,

It is hard to know at times

Although we are often on our own,

the reality is that in life, the natural energies,

or elements, require a positive and a negative

to reach a ONENESS

If we over water, plants will drown

too much sun and dry soil, will cause a drought

love is an emotion,

When dancers perform, we don’t see the work, sweat,tears, pain that they endured during their practices, workouts, and personal battles they fought for us to see the final product.  Their dedication to their craft, is what enables us to enjoy a breathtaking performance.  Even the work that went into taking the pictures I have used in this blog, the time the photographer took, the patience to get just the right angle, that exact moment to click the shutter.

There is complexity in all that happens.  We tend to only see the surface.  Life is an art form, and we, each and every one of us, is a piece of the puzzle in the whole of this wonderful, exhilarating experience called living….

Each and every time we share time with each other.. I for sure, am enriched.  Thank you.

unspoken friendships

Remember the little nursery rhyme

now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep….

Do remember when  the talk was all about astral travel

and philosophers talked on about where our minds went during sleep..

… too academic for me…=^_^=

— basic A B C’s for me….

There was a time I would not have ever allowed a dog on my bed

never mind, on the sheets or sleeping beside me..

Time and circumstances have changed that

I now understand and feel things I didn’t before

What I have learned in life

that friendships that last

are the friendships with a past

The Mother who lovingly took these pictures

over a period of time

will always the remember these moments

and even though young, the child

will grow up  feeling an unspoken bond

for animals

In sleep mode we are vulnerable to the world around us

yet there is  cosmic connection to what is happening

Sometimes we unconsciously know that the world around us

is not balanced, and sleep is slow to happen

Even changing rooms will not help, because the unrest

is within you.

No matter where you go, or run, there you will be…..

the bond of sharing is a delicate one

there has to be mutual trust

and the security that comes of faith

in the connection of souls

born of innocence

and a genuine love

not built on egos, preconceived ideas,,

words, promises, just unspoken

heart-felt caring

sharing

that transcends time

and mortal boundaries…

Being able to listen and care

for what a friend is saying

or doing

to walk in silence

content to know that

you are both aware of each other

but need not talk

the being together is enough

that is an awesome

inspiring connection

appreciate such moments

for they are rare

and like a diamond in the rough

the connection is felt

not seen

friendships that last

are friendships

that can stand the

test of time

for they were

born

in another

time.
