Thursday doors

A hot dry day, finally with Piglet with me in the car, I could park, and walk in off the road to take pictures.  This little treasure had caught my eye some time ago, but it was never a good time to park off to the side of the busy roadway, and walk over to where this little house is.

The lot is big enough and shows signs of having had two outdoor  “toilets” off to one side. There is also a bigger building, commercial from how it appears. but of course, I only had eyes for the two story charmer.  The top has been removed from the ground floor, and placed as you see them.  The small doorway is between the building, and has lost its door.

Someone at some time, had, intentions for this little “cottage”  It would have been bright and welcoming inside with all those windows.  I was surprised that the  remains did not have a musty smell.  The wood was dry and still had the smell that wood gets when it has been baking in the sun.

Rust has been working on the metal for some time.  Building its many layers producing wonderful displays as only rust can.  It is not very everyone, but textured materials, remnants of another time, another life, for me are inspiring.

Hope you have enjoyed this little visit to a place  on an old road that once was the main  highway to the city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.

what happens when

pl parking lot

you are being careless or overconfident ..

Even though you may have put your best effort into doing something you still may have made mistakes.  that is why it is important to always work with a prayerful mind.

Good morning dear friends,

Our surroundings play such an important part in our lives, yet, too often we put off what needs attention, or doing, till ????

I admit to having done just that thee past months, and now.. guess what.. aaaghghgh I have to clean up.  It would have been so much simpler had I done it as the days went along, but no…. aghhhhhh hands to the heavens…. “will I ever get this right”

Have a grand day my lovelies, rain or shine, we are ONE.  You and me… travelers on this road of life.  You make it much more interesting. You do!

Life is to be lived, life is to be shared.  Never fear saying, you care. Your smile is worth barrels of sunshine that will last for miles.

windows

flowers at TD bells corners

Windows, so important in our daily lives.  Often neglected, still, they reflect and offer up a wonderful array of visual delights.  I hoped the light wouldn’t change before I captured the beautiful yellow flowers.  I was granted my wish.

I know I am not alone in my joy in the simplicity of simply enjoying the creativity in the world that surrounds me.

What have you seen out of your window recently that had a WOW factor.

Hope your week-end is full of discoveries, you are in my thoughts, always and forever.

door pewter 1

Door lovers, I cannot tell you the joy I felt when I looked into a jewelry case, and saw this  brooch.  Pewter.

I drove food up to the food bank some 30, 40 miles from home.  I always wander around a bit and try to find something that catches my eye in their “boutique” or “home decor etc”…. this time… I felt truly rewarded.  A pewter door, brooch. YaHOOOOO

PL Calendar day 4

Follow your heart while also thinking about the happiness of others.  Always be true to yourself in your words and actions.  Strive to make others happy with a sincere heart.

kayak fishing

steve kayak, june 14

Fishing, although I don’t fish, is something I think would be a quiet, comtemplative type of activity.  I have seen pictures of people kayaking along shorelines, alone, silently cutting through the water, seeing the lake, river, from a totally different angle.  If fishing, is there really a need to catch or “hook up” with a fish, or is it the very activity itself.

My son an avid kayaker, loves to fish.  Not to bring the outdoors home, but to communicate with nature in his comfort zone.  The water is still cold, we have not had any seasonally warm temperatures..yet already he has been in swimming.

steve kayak 6.14

IF I had a bucket list, a lazy drift in a kayak would be in the top twenty. =^_^=

PL Calendar day 15   Live with firm determination, thinking that “this will turn out for the best”

Everything in this world progresses and develops.  Always be positive, knowing that everything will turn out for the best.
