wishing

p1000507

Back from our short stint into the States.  We  had damp weather, some rain, not much, but I had a new experience that had me talking to myself and the strangers around me, who were wondering about my state of mind,  Although I have seen the signs, as we have driven by other locations in the States, I have never before stopped and gone in.

What I was wishing was that I had thought to whip out my camera and take a picture.  I missed the moment, because I was   totally awed by the sight of wall to wall cartons of cigarettes.  When we drove in, we did see the long and I mean long line of cars, driving up to the “take out” window.  Still I was unprepared for the sight that greeted me when I walked in.

I have never seen that many  different kinds of cigarettes, it was so well-organized, a whole wall of cigarettes, with people channeled through lines so that they went through designated lines picked out what they wanted, and then followed the queue to the cashier.  The lines are well-defined, keeping the buyers between metal type fencing,  Once in the lineup, you have no where else to go but follow the buyer in front of you.

It was amazing how efficient they were at getting customers in and out.  No being a smoker, it was like watching a foreign film  No smoking inside but the air outside was blue with smoke.

Life offers us new experiences when we least expect it.  I went in there for information on the Native territory we were on, but was so “blown away” with what I did find… I left, without the needed information, and didn’t care.  I had  a super “holy smokes artichokes” WOW moment.

I wish I could have given you a visual, wishing won’t make it so… but believe me… I was thrilled…. (ok ok, it doesn’t take much.. I know.. =^_^=  )  If you are ever in the NY,Onadaga area… have a look…

Tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday… and yup I did get great picture to share, I liked it enough to holler…stop the truck!!

finally, a flashback

prince-edward-county-2011This is a gate that we drove by some 4, 5 years ago.  I’ve never forgotten it, and I have hunted through my files to find it.  Never could locate it.   Today, Facebook sent me a..do you remember this.. message, it wasn’t this gate, but a location close by, in that time and space.

prince-edward-county-4I had seen this rock and was smitten.  I was sure I’d never see it again, but here it is.  Good ole’ Facebook.  There is something about rocks that appeals to me.  Any size will do, if it speaks to me, that’s it, I have to stop and take a closer look.

prince-edward-county-2When putting together a Chinese garden, (and Japanese) rocks are very symbolic.  Just seeing these pictures again, take me back to that fall day.  I can hear the crispness of the leaves under foot, and smell that delicious scent of musky  foliage and the moist evergreens getting ready for the winter season, Even the sky is a different hue of blue.

prine-edward-2011The earth and moss blend together, leaving the faint scent of the cooling breeze, I can’t help it, I bend closer for another look.

prince-edward-county-fall-2011The center leaves are fluffy with a soft baby down, or fuzz on a peach. I can almost see the first velvet touch of frost that will soon come to tenderly lie in the opening at its core. I am energized with the beauty of it all.

The gate was so haunting, it has never been forgotten… and now.. seeing it again, the memories of that time are just like new.  A rerun of my very own special “movie”

Today at church we talked about putting “makoto” in all we do.. (sincerity) (being present, in the moment) that is so true, when we are really present, our memory  is etched in such a way, that we get to enjoy it again.

Thank you for sharing these moment with me. We were in the area of Prince Edward County, we had taken a wine tasting route, totally not something we would ordinarily do.. and look what we found.  No, not wine, deliciously delightful, slices of Mother Nature.

portal-iwz_001Right. If only life were that simple..

Oophs sorry, wrong door, and you can simply close it and go to the next one.  It happens more often than we would like to acknowledge.  Another project, another impossible discussion with ?, a deadline looming and we’ve not come to a decision.

If we landed in a bit of a pickle, chances are, we by our own actions  had a hand in lading us there.  Time to stand back and really examine the “door/issue/challenge”.  See it as an opportunity.

vampires-graveDon’t be deterred by how it looks, if you want inside, or to know what is behind the doors, then you will need to creatively find a way to do just that.

fairy-garden-ds10940-mebob2000-on-flickrA door big or small, any shape at all, has always fascinated me, I doubt that will change anytime soon.  Even when I know what is behind the door.  I want to open the door and go inside.  Unless of course it is housework, and dirty dishes waiting on the other side.

apologies

nov-10-imagination-island_004

Hi Everyone… my apologies to those of you who have joined our little “group” in the last month or so.  I have been experiencing issues with Windows defender, and my security software.   While away on my last trip, I noted that several new members had joined up.  However when I got back home to have a look and say hello, thank you etc. Some were not to be found, and others caused problems when I tried opening them.  So now I am being cautious.

I welcome you .. in time I will find a way to actually get to your blogs.  Meanwhile, welcome, welcome,  I look forward to getting to know what part of the blogs you enjoy the most. =^_^=

blog-10-12-14_007The month of October is a very creative month. In August I begin with the fall greeting cards, and doing up Thanksgiving one, and yes… I get a head start on the ghoulish and witching ones.  Yet.. I do not do Halloween.  Go figure, I simply like the creativity it brings out in me.  I remember in the days when I did ATC* challenges, my envelopes would be decorated with tombstones, ghosts and “characters” in all shapes and sizes.

Today I was told that our cards will be sold at one of the Craft fairs, by two of our members.  So here I am doing HO HO HO cards. By December I’m doing Hearts and Flowers cards, and working my way into Irish greetings.=^_^=

photo-4-2Finally the colour is appearing along the fence and in our backyard.  On my way to Orleans this afternoon, I was again delighted by the colour the lined the highway.  This time I was taking another way in,  I was driving by farmland, fruit stands, and even a golf course.  So I enjoyed the contrast of colour against the manicured shades of green on the course itself.

img_0065Norm (Thursday Doors) I did wonder, if this could be considered a  “kind of” door.  After all it does symbolize the ending of life here on earth, and the journey to another “dimension”.   After a brief dialogue with myself .. I passed on the idea… but I did like the picture.

I like discovering old resting places… some are a tad sad due to neglect… but if you see beyond the disrepair .. you discover wonderful works of art, and interesting sentiments  Mother Nature has a way of adding her own decorative etchings and colouring on the tombstones.

photo-4-3You all know how much I love the play of light and shadows, in the fall, the darkness deepens, and I can lose myself in the depth of imagination and vegetation that has started to decay.  Life is beautiful in all stages.

ce00249d8878b494394bf12392d36775I have no idea, where this is, or how this picture found its way into the folder I was viewing..  but.. hey it is a door and by jove, it is Thursday

Tomorrow, I am having my second eye done.. (how many does she have you ask.. even I wonder at times).. so I will “see” you when I “see” you.

Have good days, peaceful nights, and I won’t say be good, I’ll say… live each moment, put your whole heart into it, and you will never have regrets.

11th. Ancestors’ Day

white-bridal-shower-flowers-2s

On the 11th of every month, we celebrate ancestors Day.  through this ceremony we express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors, and those who have contributed to our lives in a way that has shaped us into the person(s) we are today.

I speak often of appreciation, and gratitude, why because it is important to realize and remember that we do have much to be thankful for.   I thank the Universe every day for the blessings in my life.  I am alive and able to experience the joys that come my way.  Sometimes I don’t realize it is a joy, I “react” but.. in the long and short of things… usually, almost always, I come to realize that the obstacle or challenge was a gift.

Sometimes we forget how wonderful something is, till it reappears in our lives.  Be open to the “adventures” that come your way.  Believe that if it is “in your face” there is a good reason for it.
