PL Day 15     Being Attentive makes life more enjoyable

Live life paying careful attention to every detail, be it big or small.  By doing so, you will be able to experience the subtle joy in things.

Had I been paying careful attention at the time I put this picture in my family folder, I would have noted who sent it to me, and where they were at the time  =<>=

That said, isn’t this just the most magnificent of artistry.

Be at peace with the world today.

Did you have to look twice.  Photographer Seth Casteel is the photographer that captured these wonderful pctures of dogs underwater.  In combination with the under water currents, mixed with his skills using his high speed camera, he was able to transform our darling little love cuddles, into aquatic  fur hounds.

There is something mesmerizing about the pictures.. I look at them and see the happy smiles.. of the dogs in action, their anticipation of the catch.  Dogs do love having fun, and many of them love the fetch and catch played with their owners.  What we don’t see is the owners, their human getting them revved up and then  tossing the ball into the water so they’ll dive in to retrieve it.  Our first Porti was like that.. she loved the water and she loved to fetch.. she would egg you on all day, there was no tiring her out if there was water nearby, or a ball.

The photographer, Seth Casteel is on Facebook .. the article I found on his work was back in 2012.. so I can’t be sure if it is still up, nor was I able to get a web addy.  But my hat is off to this artist… his creativity and patience to go underwater and get these pictures.. well… I say… bravo and thank you.

In life, we have to grab the moment, seize the day so to speak…. we only go around once, we only get to live the day once… and no two days are ever alike.. the endless possibilities.. are beyond categorizing. A friend I met up with, was very upset and angry at himself.. he had let someone else ruin his “day”  As humans we think too much, we want to dissect and rethink everything.  Eventually he got past it.. it wasn’t a mistake, because he learned from his experience.

I learned something too.  I learned that guys hurt just as much as we do when they are wronged,  It is not that I didn’t know that.. but.. it wasn’t top of mind.  it is not only guys who can be the person doing wrong, so can the woman  Being a woman, I hear all about  how so and so, was this and that…. or how the marriage ended because…. and usually for me it was always the man’s fault.

There is no such thing as someone else’s fault.  WE make our choices, and we are responsible for our own actions and decisions.  No matter what the story is.. there is always another version.  Somewhere in between lies the truth.. and even then.. it depends on the telling.

When our dog pals, are with us.. they are happy just sharing time with us.. when we want to play they are over joyed..  “come on, Fetch” and the sight of a ball whizzing past them is irresistable, they are off and running.  they don’t cogitate on what does he want me to do.. they see the ball, hear the words and they are gone.. propelled by the moment, and the thrill of sharing that moment with their “human/partner”

Sharing time with another person, can be so rewarding, it all begins with respecting the other person’s unique individuality, and sincerely wanting to be with them.  If honesty of intention is not at the core of the friendship, then it is doomed from the start.

Love is life.

Let love touch your heart today.

Take a hike! Go…. away!

Do you remember chanting,” rain, rain go away, come again another day”?  We would be out playing in the rain anyway. yet it seemed the fun thing to do at the time.  Skipping rope or playing with the bolo bat.  LOL now that is really saying something about the time I was growing up.  Bet some of you don’t even know what a bolo bat is.  It is a paddle with a ball attached to it.

This toy and the yo-yo were hours of fun, and if you were really good you competed, especially with the yo-yo.  The yo-yo was easy to carry around, and take with you everywhere.  You would see people enjoying the pass-time in parks, waiting for buses. on the front porch, at beaches, the yo-yo was everywhere.

yo-yo downloadAnd no this was not just something that the girls did, this was something that the boys really got into,  They really developed the skill in a way that  was entertaining and showed their dexterity and ingenuity in how many they could perform with at one time etc.

yo-yo imagesYoung and old tried their hand with the Yo-Yo.  I know of many who had huge collections of these wonderful little gems.  Yo-Yos came in every colour and designs you can imagine.  There were even special Yo-Yo gloves.  You could compete with friends on how  many times you could go around the world,  (the yo-yo makes a revolution all the way around in a circle away from the body) or you did puzzles the way this man is doing, at first it looked like Tommy Smothers, but I’m not sure?  I know some of you are saying , who?, he was Dick’s brother, LOL popular comedians

Now what got me on the topic of yo-yos and bolo bats, who knows, I was thinking about things that make me smile and had a flash back, that led me into sharing a bit of vintage with you,  Maybe it’s because I’ll be finishing up a blog later about Woodstock69,(SL)* have been working on it for days now. There is so much in our past that makes us who we are  today, I appreciate my past experiences, the ups and the downs, not in detail, but the emotions and the life lessons I learned along the way.  There is gratitude in my heart for having come this far.  My happiness is not tied to material objects, but to the emotions of life, loving, sharing and experiencing moments with friends, family and yes, even the strangers I’ve met who in many ways touched my heart with their actions, thoughts or deeds.

I do my best to make each day a memorable one,  I’ve been blessed with friendships that brighten my day in many ways, everyday!  Every day, my circle of friends, and contacts grows, I so appreciate each and everyone of you.  Thank you for being part of my world.  You are the sunshine in my life.  You really are.

Take a hike, go away – take a holiday, PLAY# PLAY# PLAY…..                            Namaste – Oyashikiri
