Thursday

Ok.. yes you’ve seen this message before… did you listen… did you consider the message?

Have you slowed down the pace of your life? I just received a very interesting video .. these days I can’t always tell if its Ai or ? because it has information that many will find useful, I’m leaving a link to it at the end of this post. Its about being an older “person”, this video is by a woman and aimed at women, but the message is important to everyone. We are all on the path that leads to “aging”.

Let’s set higher goals and work to improve ourselves

Let’s work towards our goals while keeping a clear vision of what we hope to achieve. Your strong conviction and Makoto (sincere effort) will help drive you towards accomplishing what you set out to do.

waiting

Every morning, these two sit at the “window” and wait to see what will flit or pop up … there are birds of all shape and sizes… squirrels that come running up to grab a peanut… there are a ton of specialty programs put together for cats/dogs …. and they like to review them all. Who knew, they actually watch the telly more than I do. I might average a couple of times a month… they expect access every day. When a mouse scampers past or comes out of a hole… it’s an event.

Now with the sun streaming in through the patio doors they have taken to maintaining a watch from that vantage point too, I realize that the whole apartment is actually bathed in sunshine for most of the day, In June I will have been here a year… Has it made a difference … yes… I’m still working out just how much, but for sure, it has changed a”lot”, some changes are more subtle than others.

It is like .. one shoe fell, now I’m waiting to see if the other one falls and if it will match the one that has already fallen.

This is a good one for me today!!!

Let’s have a humble mind

Once you think, “That’s good enough,” you become blind to the opportunities to be more creative.

Sunday

a wee owl resting in the trees.

The picture has been cropped so that the location of the wee one is not easily determined. Yes I am one of the nature lovers who protects the wild life .. from onlookers who come and destroy the peace and tranquility of the woodlands …. it is unfortunate, but I have seen too many scenes of mobs who treat the wee ones like a sideshow.

Good morning everyone..

You gain strength through your hardships

Whatever you learn easily or master effortlessly tends to be forgotten. The lessons you gain through repeated mistakes are what gives you genuine strength.

Value those who are nearest to you

It is especially easy to overlook how wonderful your spouse or other family members really are. Always remember to respect and value one another.

lundi

Listening to the pouring rain. The fire is crackling and blazing in the fireplace, there isn’t another person home, just the cats who are somewhere enjoying the quiet of the day.. Taking time to rest to just listen to our thoughts is a pass time that many of us put off. I am guilty of it myself. I am tempted by the photographic possibilities in a virtual world…or caught up listening to my lessons .. reviewing incoming mail. there is always “something” that catches my attention.

Yesterday, I had a “chat” with my nephew who is gathering information to do a “chart” of our family “histories”… I know some of you have been doing similar research, going back over family photos, gathering stories of the past moments in your family history. It seems like in today’s world (according to my nephew) it is somewhat simpler. He was able to (with a few clicks) show me a map of where my grandparents came from in China. The exact location on the map, so I could actually see the province in China and the little town near the coast where my father’s family came from. I could see how far it was from Taiwan, and picture them travelling from China to Canada way back when.

I sometimes get very annoyed at the constant barrage of information and images that constantly appear on my screen when I’m trying to do something else. But yesterday I was grateful and thankful for the technology we have today. Reminded me again, that there is always a positive to something that can be so negative at times.

Have a good start to a new week!

I know I will be asked, let me give you the LM to the location I visited in SL (Second Life) The ambience is lovely, the sound of pouring rain is restful… http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Silent%20Melody%202/224/114/2520 /silent Melody is a lovely relaxing setting … rain
patters against the windows. Each corner reveals a hidden nook, a tranquil spot to sit and savor the peace to silent melodies, as the world outside fades into a distant murmur.

Open up opportunities by being proactive.

Opportunities don’t just come knocking on the door. Use your enthusiasm and energy to bring good fortune your way.

Wednesday

Yes, good day, may I help you?

Remember when there was actually a human ready to assist you if you had a problem or needed assistance with something? Where if you had something go wrong with an order, or needed clarification, there was actually a human who took your call, listened and directed your call to the appropriate desk?

There was a time when you could walk into a store, or office and be greeted by someone who actually cared about whether or not you were being serviced properly… or got the right product for your needs.

The other day I went for a massage, and literally had to ask the question of the person I was talking with… what exactly are you allowed to do??? why? because if you want to total relaxation, your body is divided into sections.. this they will do,, this they won’t unless you sign a paper that they can touch you.. (in this case it was my abdomen)…AND heaven forbid in some instances, the therapist who took a course to be an RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) will not do your feet!!!!! Last time I looked, my body from my toes to the top of my head… its all connected.

If I want only a specific part of my anatomy done, a limb, leg, arm, hands, I will check in with a physiotherapist.. if I want a massage I expect, especially when I pay for a registered massage therapist who one is told has studied ALL THE ANATOMY, and knows how to relax and work the whole body.

“When in doubt, use “massage therapist.” It’s accurate, gender-neutral, and reflects a trained, licensed professional. So when comparing a therapist and a masseuse, remember: the biggest difference is professionalism and credentials. If you’re seeking therapeutic care, always look for a licensed massage therapist.”

Sounds simple, but try to find one that actually works on the whole body and not have specific areas, they don’t want to touch. Or want to practice a special technique, that involves only certain movements and specific parts of the body.

This rant is not a sudden vomiting of frustration, for a couple of years now I have tried a sampling at various clinics in the area… only to be left totally unsatisfied by the lack of experience and inability of many “RMT” to actually do an aging body in a way that leaves me feeling like I have had a massage.

Please .. I am not saying personnel were not friendly, or that they didn’t perform an hour of manipulations, quote ( Whether it’s targeting specific areas of the body or providing a comprehensive full-body approach, RMT offers a tailored and holistic approach to promote optimal joint health and overall physical wellness.Feb 13, 2024) its finding someone who actually really cares if you leave the clinic feeling like you’ve had a massage.. or are there simply to earn their % of the fee.

Make today a “give back day” Kindness for others is the best way to give back.

PL2023.11

FYI I do have a wonderful gal I go to, she is not an RMT she is certified in other areas, ie. reflexology. But when she works on you, her intent is to relax you, work with what ails you, and help you cope with stress and tensions in the body. AND I do have an experienced seasoned RMT who is multi talented, in that he has done a lot of extra courses and modalities ( in therapy, the word ‘modality’ refers to the method of treatment. )

Thanks for listening to my “tirade” – this moment will pass.
