come away with me

Be careful about saying “it’s probably good enough” Wholeheartedly do what you notice, when and how you notice it.

Some days, when the skies are the clearest of blues, the feathered clouds wisps of angel white, the trees and surrounding vegetation are an array of, every shade of blue/green/yellow, AND the air is filled with the fresh lavender like scent of new growth -it is nothing short of perfection. Today I walked through the most heavenly scents – I looked for lavender, lily of the valley/ lilacs….. saw only the bog and the plants growing there, but ohhhh the intoxicating aromas were “mind blowing” I would have loved to have had someone with me who could identify what it was that I was enjoying so much. (one plant did look like lavender??)

Be carful about doing things you really like. do everything in moderation. When you overdo, you’ll lose your balance.

A quick note- example – I love to hike/walk in the woods.. for days on end I go out every morning and drink in the world around me. Yesterday the heat/ the miles/ many steps, caught up with me. I lay down just for a second and lost the rest of the day/night. MODERATION.

stay safe – love U

so near yet so far

Oh say can you see…………………. sigh….. so rich with vaccines, and we can’t get across to access what is there for the taking. I heard that in some places they are offering incentives of free vaccines if you come to visit. All very tempting except … it is no easy task to get over there to do so.

I got to the St. Lawrence by way of a visit to Sarsaparilla Trail in the west end. I brought a friend who had not been in awhile, she had not met Gisele before.. Gisele bless her little feathered heart was there… and gladly mooned us when I greeted her.

You can just see the young duck swimming away after having graced us with his presence for a brief visit. It was quiet today, there was another male duck and a turtle close to the viewing platform.

The drive along the St. Lawrence is such a pretty drive, there were not too many cars. At Cardinal, I stopped to allow for us to get out and stretch the legs.. there were people but the picnic tables and BBQs were all vacant of people, there were people along the inner canal fishing.. along the bank.. aside from that, it was also very quiet.

We got take out at McDonalds then drove down to the pier to eat. Usually there would be boats going back and forth in the channel, today except for one or two motor boats, the waters were void of “traffic”

what can I say,, she is a show off..

Multitasking reduces your joy by half. when doing something give it your all. There is joy in everything.

Watching the ducks lazily bob along yesterday, was a reminder that there is no need to always “be busy”. They took their time, they would drift along, letting the current take them, then shift slightly to grab another little wave, they were focused like the families of geese on land, on just enjoying the day.

A good reminder to me, I need not rush around doing, I can just take my time and enjoy the day/afternoon/evening.

hiking brigade

Good afternoon, what an interesting morning… I started by clearing away more of the dead branches that litter the area where I had the feeders in the winter. As the new growth really takes hold, it will not be as easy to get at “stuff”. I am hoping that the younger trees will be able to grow stronger, giving me good branches to use come the winter season.

found by Daniel R. off the trail this year.. further up from the ones I found yesterday *
crossed my path this morning.. he disappeared before I got to my camera, .( internet photo)
  • Daniel was telling me where he found the spine there was a big hole, in it he found hairs – white fur with roots a beige colour.
  • Another regular who hikes this trail, was saying that the bones I found yesterday, could have been dumped??

Guess we have a mystery, that may or may not ever be solved, but the adventure of discovery is fun, and for sure engaging.

New encounters can help you change. Be up for anything, even if it’s out of your comfort zone. This is a chance for you to improve yourself as a human being.

Every day is a new beginning

In a conversation with a treasured friend who lives in sunny California, she observed I took pictures of sticks, and empty branches, another precious friend, mentioned I like “dead wood” Hmmm I thought, how true the expression… beauty is in the eye of the beholder… =^_^=… I love capturing the moments I experience, they tell a story, and give a visual to the life that unfolds around me.

my magnolia in bloom

I love my magnolia, when it blooms the fragrance that fills the air is AMAZING. My neighbour who is beside me and shares the love of this tree, says she gets the best of it.. the pure beauty of its flowers, and the scent it gifts the neighbourhood. I get to sweep up the fallen petals as they descend to the ground after they do their showing off.

Yeppers, each and every one of these petals falls to the ground when it has done its “showing off”… and no they don’t all fall at once or in the same place, the wind/breezes ensure they land everywhere. I had a very mindful day yesterday, must have swept up the fallen at least 5 times in the span of afternoon and early evening. This morning I found more waiting, and by this afternoon when I return from church there will be more.. and NO she hasn’t finished shedding yet.

Is the tree still loved and appreciated. YES. I never tire of saying, that I feel very blessed that I live in a country that has 4 distinct seasons. Each season, has a reason for being.. just like me, myself and I.. every part of my personality, character is ME, and even when I am fragmented and disjointed, life not running smoothly I thank God that I am alive and here to experience all that is offered. If I didn’t experience the greatest moments of LOVE/Happiness I wouldn’t know the sadness or feeling of lonely/loss…. it is because I feel, because I love that I am alive ..

I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.

PL Principle #3

What is “normal” is different for each individual. Everyone has a different way of thinking and doing. It is important to understand others’ feelings.

new adventure

today I’m going back to meet up with a wildlife nature photographer who has a new idea for capturing what our forest friends are up to. He has invited me to join him to show me what he has been up to.. yeah! except I’ll have to cope with the mosquitos, Eliza has thoughtfully offered up what she uses… guess who is going to pause here to see if the product can be found here. We are on lock down, only essentials are open. fingers crossed.. (note to self, save to draft)

Perceiving equals doing. Each time you notice something, it is a gift from God. don’t miss the opportunity to act.

Mud Lake 5.12

This next picture was an awesome moment, unfortunately I was unable to get a good picture, I was frozen in place on a stump, the Mother and Father of these babies were coming along behind me, since I was sitting their heads and beaks would have been right in my face, back of head, or my neck. I was not going to chance moving.

No matter what the day was like prior to my arriving at Mud Lake, as soon as I stepped into the area, I was in a different zone. I love being out in Nature, but then I’m sure you’ve arrived at that piece of information already.

every time I meet up with this female duck I’m loving her more, her beautiful markings are exquisite. Her partner is more colourful, true but I find her pattern to be a work of art.

It was a sunny day, temperatures were balmy, next time I need to get their earlier, when I arrived, the cars were already lined up all along the road. However, altho’ the wildlife is plentiful, I think I prefer an environment with less human taffic.

flash from the past

Sometimes we find a picture of another time .. another experience, or lesson …I had never heard of this writer, a friend suggested I read one of his books. I was aghast to say the least… and was not sure how to react, being the “feminist’s” I thought myself to be.. I was a very determined young lady, strong, assertive, and sure of who I thought I was etc. etc. However, it was put to me that I should not judge or say what I was saying if I had not at least read one of this man’s novels. I was basing my opinion(s) thoughts on what I was hearing/seeing from other viewpoints and interpretations.

I had told my husband of this friend’s suggestion, being the world traveler, writer etc., that he was, he thought that my friend made a good point. If I myself had not read the author’s own words, and presentation of the subject, I was not forming my “opinion” on the writer’s work. Of course the design cover of the books didn’t thrill me so that had immediately put me off.. However, I did read one of his books, started with his first book, that led me to book two and before I knew it I had read maybe 6, 8 books.. I was drawn like a moth to a flame to a world that I had really not known anything about…

I did note they were written years ago, (at the time I was introduced to the subject) and the writer was introducing you to his concept of a world that ran parallel to ours.. (I was not at that time reading or had been reading much fiction)

It is now many many years later, and I stress MANY and I found the picture you see above.. it got me thinking am I more open today. I also realize that in today’s world we have had books and movies out that are much more explicit and take the reader down some very “interesting” “realities”

I write about it today, because a long time friend surprised me just last night in conversation, with just a few sentences he/she gave me new insight into one of “his/her” internal rooms (thinking) that I had up till that moment not known existed.

The world is a very interesting place, where we least expect it – a new window/door opens..

Just saying… it is food for thought, n’est pas? Any comments or thoughts? If anyone knows this writer and his books, or has knowledge of this subject, I would be interested in how you see it .. in today’s world.. would it still glean a following?
