I had seen that there was a clearing up off the trail I usually walk, when I climbed the incline to the clearing I found anther of these wood “tents” and two other possibilities.
Wholeheartedly do what you notice, when and how you notice it.

I didn’t think about it, I saw it and decided to check it out. Had I simply noticed and moved on, I would have missed the other possibilities that I now will have when next I visit this location.

Some days, when the skies are the clearest of blues, the feathered clouds wisps of angel white, the trees and surrounding vegetation are an array of, every shade of blue/green/yellow, AND the air is filled with the fresh lavender like scent of new growth -it is nothing short of perfection. Today I walked through the most heavenly scents – I looked for lavender, lily of the valley/ lilacs….. saw only the bog and the plants growing there, but ohhhh the intoxicating aromas were “mind blowing” I would have loved to have had someone with me who could identify what it was that I was enjoying so much. (one plant did look like lavender??)

Let’s respond clearly. giving a proper response shows consideration towards others.

Always think that “everything will work out” When you allow yourself to be pessimistic, your thoughts and actions become sluggish. Approach everything optimistically without hesitating.

Truly, I had good intentions. I saw the parking lot was empty, and decided to try this trail.. I’ve never been interested it is usually full of cars, its a favourite of walkers, runners and families on day walks with children. There were empty feeders along the way, the one above, had remnants of seeds so there was a squirrel and two doves cleaning up on the ground below it. Two black birds had been there, but flew away when I approached.
You don’t have to get it perfect, you just have to get it going. Babies don’t walk the first time they try.

Pictures of some of the “ladies” that were on display today… the vegetation is growing in leaps and bounds, won’t be long and the road will have reduced by half. It (vegetation) is coming in on both sides.
I’ll do it later. No, I’ll do it now. To make progress, do anything while its still fresh.

Today’s visit was longer than I expected it to be. I found that the trails I would have or had been taking, were not that inviting. With all the new growth, they were dark, and from a distance, I could hear the hum of mosquitos. Not inviting. I sprayed on the repellent and took off down the paved road. Thought I’d try to find the green gate on my own. Not that it would be difficult, it was just a matter of walking till I came upon it.

The spine that I should you pictures of in previous blog.. was at one time found just in, beyond the gate. Its been weeks now since the first “hiker/walker” found it… I doubted it would still be there, still I decided to venture in beyond the gate.
What I did encounter was an immediate invasion of cannibal minded mosquitos. They were everywhere, swarming around my head, trying to bit through my sleeves.. Not pretty. When I left the car I thought to bring my “Off”.. but I didn’t.. obviously my protection I had sprayed on when started out, was not going to hold these attackers off. I made a quick exit back to the open road.
The new tracker app that a friend suggested I put on my phone, has been fun, it tells me how many miles and steps I do. I’m happy that with each outing I’m getting better, and able to go just that little bit further without huffing and puffing! LOL there is hope for me yet!!
Take care everyone, enjoy whatever it is you are embarking on….
Oh say can you see…………………. sigh….. so rich with vaccines, and we can’t get across to access what is there for the taking. I heard that in some places they are offering incentives of free vaccines if you come to visit. All very tempting except … it is no easy task to get over there to do so.
I got to the St. Lawrence by way of a visit to Sarsaparilla Trail in the west end. I brought a friend who had not been in awhile, she had not met Gisele before.. Gisele bless her little feathered heart was there… and gladly mooned us when I greeted her.

The drive along the St. Lawrence is such a pretty drive, there were not too many cars. At Cardinal, I stopped to allow for us to get out and stretch the legs.. there were people but the picnic tables and BBQs were all vacant of people, there were people along the inner canal fishing.. along the bank.. aside from that, it was also very quiet.
We got take out at McDonalds then drove down to the pier to eat. Usually there would be boats going back and forth in the channel, today except for one or two motor boats, the waters were void of “traffic”
I cannot remember the last time I was on Bates Island. Likely years and years and years. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not too busy, although there were a couple of inconsiderate persons who parked blocking the one way road on one end of the island. I wondered if there had been a sign and I missed it that this was a special picnic day for the geese and ducks. They were everywhere. Even the gulls were around, all were intent on feasting on whatever delicacies they could find.
There were a lot of proud parents watching their young playing and eating, I took care to keep my distance. One couple thought to sit by the water’s edge and enjoy a small picnic lunch.. No Way, the geese came at them from both directions, they finally got up and moved to one of the picnic tables away from the patrolling geese. In the last photo there are several babies under the greenery, I tried to get a picture of the one baby who was trying to walk up the tree, but of course, only got so far and toppled down. Mother stood closely by.
There were no kayaks in the rapids, it wasn’t too hot yet, temperatures are going to be high today, but there was a fog/smog in the air.. It will be overcast most of the day.

View your difficulties as a chance to make rapid progress. You grow by overcoming the obstacles in front of you, one by one. Look at your problems as opportunities for growth and make the best of your situation.
