Mother 1921-2017

Mother passed 3.6.17

Mother’s life was like an abstract painting, she lived creatively and managed to  keep all the  assortment of unique personalities that she loved  on one mosaic canvas.  She had an inner strength and resolve that kept her going for 96 years. Pansies were her favourite flowers.  She loved colours, when she set her mind to something, it got done. In later years, she loved to , crochet and knit in quiet times, but she dedicated much of her life to volunteering and working for the good of others.  She remained actively involved in all her charities and “projects” till well into her golden years. RIP Mother, your unconditional love and tenacious spirit, will always be with us.

Whoa, hello… unexpected company for breakfast.  Wow.. what a shot, the photographer had to be right there, camera/cellphone  in hand. Click, Gotcha!  What a moment right. Do you know we have such moments, several times a day, we just don’t always catch them.  It hits the conscious mind “ping” .. after that actual moment passed us by.

We get one chance in life to live a moment, once it is passed, it is history.  In the blink of an eye, you have moved on. Love with all your heart today, appreciate the blessings you receive daily, because you do.  See the positives in life, they are in abundance. Believe, have faith.

My son just called to tell me that a man he thought highly of (Larry Lord) passed in his sleep during the night.. R.I.P. Mr. Lawrence Lord.  I didn’t know this man personally, but I certainly know his daughter who has been part of our family for  many years now.  I know the love and dedication this man inspired in those who loved him.  Even in his last years, my son spoke of how he loved to sing, smile and be happy.  This man knew about being in a happy “state of mind”.

When we live being true to ourselves, in everything we do, with love, sincerity, and appreciation of what we have, giving joy, sharing a smile, a hug…. our lives will be blessed in so many ways.  Death is an ending in this life… it means our bodies are laid to rest…  a new door opens..

Imperfections

Last night I had word from a dear and wonderful friend.  I knew her dog had recently been ill and passed on, I had dropped in to see her to offer a hug.  I was with her when she first  got Peppino, and knew how much that dog meant to her and how much he filled her life with love, She was not home when I arrived, so after leaving her a note I went on my way  When she wrote me last nite she told me  how Peppino had met his end.  Rat poison!  He was a small dog, the vet said there was enough in his system to have stopped a horse in his tracks.  I had been oblivious to that bit of information prior to her telling me this last night. What devastation and renewed sense of loss, this time with a searing pain that a life was taken in such a horrible way.

The world is not perfect, and neither are we.  The Universe works in strange ways.  Intellectually we can try to make sense and reason out of world events, but always when we view anything that is outside our own personal world, we are seeing things either through the eyes of a camera or hearing the views and thoughts of others.  If peace begins within, and that is really the only way it can happen, if we are at peace with our selves, then we radiate and share this peace with others.

Life on earth is fragile.  We are here to learn, to grow spiritually and to learn love for one another.  Tolerance and forgiveness are hard lessons. I ask today that we pray for those who are moving on into the Universe, mostly pray for their loved ones who suffer their loss.  Those who pass over into the “cosmic beyond” have been blessed with new beginnings.  No longer are they bound to mortal life.

Hearts & Flowers

6b631c6dead44193b4e5ed4fa31a2d91Pure vintage   we would never see this today, cigarettes are no longer in vogue, but the artist put together a picture showing a couple showing their togetherness, his arm holding hers,  their cigarette tips touching, note that the gesture forms a heart connecting them.  OK OK, I’m allowed some poetic licence. LOL I thought it charming =^_^=

Hearts and Flowers day isn’t just for lovers, it is a day that celebrates caring and love. although over the years the marketing has been more and more about the gifts one gives, or tied to romantic stories, new engagements, marriages, and first dates etc.   I see it more as a day of  love, period. A good friend recently lost one of her parents, which is a time of loss,  she and  her family have chosen to celebrate their loss, by celebrating the parent’s life.  How joyful, to honour the life and the positives this person gave to other during her lifetime.  Love is a blessing in our lives.  the word itself has been so used and misunderstood, but in reality, it is  Lasting ONENESS (with God) and Vibration (energy) that is Endless.  Oyashikiri
