old menu from 1967

Sorry for the quality folks, I was trying to handle it without ripping  or doing damage to it.  This menu was from the Regency Room, I think in St. Catharines, Ontario.  Long gone are those days,  The pies were all .20 cents a slice.

Anyone know what Bruxelloise is/was?

I told myself no way would I have a bedtime snack, but guess what, the call of the avocado toast was too great.

PL Day 1 – Harmony leads to World Peace

It is important to live in harmony with  our surroundings.  The basis of a peaceful society is to maintain harmonious relationships.

Lucky

A happy moment.  a memory of my Mother who loved watching old movies.. AND just to start the day off with a smile.. with YOU.  (click on link below)

Lucky – Nicholas Brothers

Lucky is a happy clip, I grew up being entertained, we appreciated talent, we laughed shows were designed to delight and musicals were her favourites.  She loved music that told stories of life, love, heartbreak, hope and more love.

Believe.. life is good.  and it will be.

Chop Suey Monday Aug. 14

logo, old

Good afternoon, thought since I’m doing a bit of this and that, I would share with you my logo from years gone by.  It was a phase in my life when I was doing silver jewelry, combined with healing semi and precious stones.

I came across an older piece of marketing I had done.. back then.  I no longer do “TalisMoons” but I do still believe in the energy we keep on or around us.  You all know that my husband and I are on a journey .. with my husband’s “illness” has come the need to really asses and look at our lives.  The changes that will be required etc.

This morning I had to take our precious “senior” dog child” to the vet, she is now with the angels and no longer suffering or tied to this mortal dimension of life.  Another difficult emotional challenge, an opportunity to thank God for the blessings she brought into our lives.  She gave me so much… through her I knew unconditional love  which helped me to be a better person.

The following is part of what I had written many “moons” ago.

DyMoon is  Love unbounded, cosmic and universal –

Transcends ALL mortal boundaries and ALL that is known

DyMoon –  – is timeless and eternal

Each Dymoon TalisMoon is created with magical thought that rests on a belief in ONENESS with the Universe.  They only have POSITIVE value for their owner and are ver personalized in the giving and wearing.

Follow your heart

along the feeling path

ignite inner flames with just a glance

welcome today with glass raised high

salute tomorrow with joy of mind

travel through fantasy and life

capture the spirit of imagination

ride the winds of time

enjoy an original “dyMoon”

Over the years, people just began calling me dyMoon, and to this day I am dyMoon.  Reading what I wrote all those many years ago.  I am still a moon maiden, still believe in the ONENESS of the Universe, and LOVE.

Yes I shed tears this morning, but they were of love, I will always cherish my Canaille and the many joys she brought into my life.  It is never goodbye, It is always, till soon.

Best start of the week to you all.  I love and feel blessed that you are part of my life.

Q  aka DyMoon.

for those who do not know. DyMoon is an anglo version of my Chinese names.

Mother 1921-2017

Mother passed 3.6.17

Mother’s life was like an abstract painting, she lived creatively and managed to  keep all the  assortment of unique personalities that she loved  on one mosaic canvas.  She had an inner strength and resolve that kept her going for 96 years. Pansies were her favourite flowers.  She loved colours, when she set her mind to something, it got done. In later years, she loved to , crochet and knit in quiet times, but she dedicated much of her life to volunteering and working for the good of others.  She remained actively involved in all her charities and “projects” till well into her golden years. RIP Mother, your unconditional love and tenacious spirit, will always be with us.

Mr.Spud

Mr. spud 2010 PNG

Facebook has a habit of popping the past at you.  This morning, I found this on my FB page.  I wondered what on earth !! then I read the notation at the bottom, they had provided that too.

Do you recall what you did 6 years ago?  And the next question, Do you really want to know?

Curious, that’s all.

Personally I care more about what I’m doing now and how I live now, PL Precept # 16  All things progress and Develop.  Every moment counts, I love the experience of living.  The past.. yes it was good at the time, but the reality is, I don’t even know where Mr. Spud is today, what happened to him. OH and the spuds, were they significant?  who knows, that was then, this is now.

Enjoy the day everyone!

It is full of such potential and possibilities

deja vu

DSC00350

I knew this place nestled in the trees, it came back to me, a very distant memory

The closer I got, the stronger the story line, from a time way before I walked this earth.

The trees were not as mature, in fact  most, except the one, were but  seedlings in the ground

DSC00351

“Father farmed the land for miles around.  The nearest neighbour was a day away, unless of course, it was a Sunday, and we could hitch the horses to the small cart.  We would all dress in our Sunday best to ride into the closest settlement, otherwise, we spent our days  tending to chores and learning to read by candlelight, once all animals had been bedded and we could rest before we ourselves had to head up the stairs to bed.”

DSC00352

I couldn’t resist a look inside, sure enough the stairs were still there, but somehow the rest of the living area had been taken down and left to be dealt with another day.  I did consider going in, to see if I could still see out the window, from outside, I saw it was still there.

Reality is, it was another time, and the youngster who grew up there, was long gone. The world has vastly changed, and now, this home that was, sits alone in an isolated little woodland, on the edge of big farming complex.

The windows of the past, that we encounter today, fascinate and intrigue me.  Similar to the interest I have in doors, doorways and entryways, the questions, the storylines, the hazy visions into what was, could have been, or could be………..  never cease to delight and titillate my creative cells.
