Good Morning 6.26.17

vwlro 6.17

Good morning, this is our whippet trying to sleep last night, doesn’t matter its summer, and hot, he likes to be covered.  Usually his head is snuggled into his chest or he is on his back, but for some reason last night, he was sleeping with his head on the arm of the chair.  For those of us with a whippet or grey *Greyhound” even though we see their often,  odd way of sprawling out, it never ceases to amuse or endear them  Their ability to contort their length into weird upside down and twisted posses, and then fall asleep that way, is really amazing.

They can in a split second, wake and jump up from the most awkward of positions to a graceful and show-stopping pose.  Why, because he can, he doesn’t think about it, he just does it.

20170129_153154

Furniture has to be covered, he owns every chair in the place.  Almost .. Canaille (our PWD) has hers,  but that doesn’t stop him from trying to horn in.  Extra loads of laundry are done, sheets, towels, and his blankies.  Oh dear, does he sound spoiled…. yes…. I guess they both are.

All this to say, dogs, cats, pets of any kind, are usually accepted for who they are, we can justify almost anything they do, or get up to, and we deal with it. Accidents happen, we deal with it.  As they age, we learn to live with an aging pet, who after years of unconditional love (on their part) and ours, we adjust and walk the path with them.  We do all this without questioning why, they don’t interact with us like another human would, so our compassion, and love seems to just happen.  Another human has a voice and thoughts, that will come out and create a different “reaction” from us.

Throw a penny into a quiet pond, it will sink or skip depending on how you do it, then it will fall into the pond and become one with the pond.  We see gentle ripples, or if we threw the penny, it might make a small splash.  If we throw a rock, we will get a different effect. Either way, once we “action” into, or at the pond, the “reaction” happens, then the pond returns to the state it was in prior to our interaction with it.

When we live in Perfect Liberty, we are like the pond, we hum with activity of our own, life flows.  When something/someone interacts with us,  how they interact, will dictate what our response will be.  We acknowledge the activity, let it go, and return to our
centre” our “core”PW

Living in a state of unconditional love.. is a work in progress, that we must always strive to achieve, if we are to achieve “World Peace”

roses 6. 2017

Life happens.  The roses are in bloom now, tomorrow or another day, they will relinquish their time in the spotlight, to allow the nourishment to feed the roots, so they can return again.  Life is a series of cycles.  Acknowledge and appreciate every day. Life is good.

There is Joy in simplicity!

How wild does their garden grow

wow I don’t know said Mr Crow

For years now I come to explore

each passing year brings new colour in the rows

see the roses are in full bloom right now

&  cherries are forming on the trees

come back in a week or two

the Saskatoon berries will be a feast

bring friends, this garden is here for us

nice meeting you Mr Crow,

my  name is Jay

in a flash of blue he was off

cawing as he flew

I’ll be back to  see you soon

Rosco chuckled as he flew higher up the tree

life is good when

friends drop in showing appreciation and enjoy their visit

he liked being called Mr. Crow

Mr. indeed, and he chuckled some more

could he be getting old

in full voice, he cawed and called out

Happy Sunday everyone!

Dolls and life

3 friends, Vanilla,ChenMay,Kit

Once upon a time.  Remember the stories we were read when we were children. I don’t recall too many of them now, but I do seem to recall they all had happy endings.  Lately I’ve been introduced to the new dolls that are on the market, perhaps I shouldn’t say new, because they have been around, they are “new” to me.

It has been a delight to discover that there are many different cultures represented in the choices, however one does have to search them out.  I found one  the other day that had been discarded, she was no longer “perfect”

Someone, had given her a very bad haircut, and she had lost patches of her hair.  It was a sad face that looked back at me when I found her in the store.  She came home for a spa day, the next day I took her in and the kind lady pierced her ears for me.  I had thought to take her to the doll club meeting earlier this week.  She was very happy with her new look, unfortunately it didn’t work out that she was able to accompany me to the meeting, but I have promised her an outing soon.,

sitting pretty with her doggie 6.11.17At the doll club meeting, I learned a lot about some of the work that is being done with dolls, especially in health care.  Dolls are brought in to visit Alzheimer patients, with heart warming results.  There was also talk about organizing a tea party for young girls and boys, who would like to  revisit a social custom that many no longer share or participate in.

I myself learned that my new “young lady” was the right “doll” to introduce to others, the fact that we all go through different “phases” in our lives, and sometimes, we are left with visible signs of our “trauma”.. that doesn’t change who we are, we are still beautiful in our own unique way. And more often than naught, we are a better, and stronger person for the  challenges we faced and overcame.

I see dolls in a totally different way now as an adult.  I am amazed at how dolls have changed (varieties) over the years, yet, now as always, they still infect us with a love that transcends age.

Share a hug today.  Reintroduce a doll into your life =^_^=

if by chance

you are nearby

your spirit hears the call

no matter the day or night

you are blessed

Spicy Tofu and spaghettini

spaghettini chillie tofu

1 serving of cooked spaghettini (if you are making it for 2, double accordingly.)

If you are lucky enough to live within a decent distance from a Chinese/Asian market, you can purchase a take out order of stir fried tofu in a rich spicy tomato sauce.  If not, you can stir fry a package of medium -firm tofu, then toss it in a cup or more of spiced tomato sauce , canned is fine, unless you want to make up a batch of salsa on your own.

The green you see is fresh garlic leek sprouts that I either cook with the pasta, or dice it cold.  Then toss with great gusto.. and delve in

Simple, easy and satisfying.  You can eat it cold, or as a hot dish.  In the summer I go for cold, with a nice green salad on the side.

Seasoning in the dish, ginger, garlic, and Japanese red pepper/chilli.. (fish sauce optional)

Thursday Doors. 6.8.17

IMG_3198

pick a door, any door, they all lead somewhere

and some are already open.  Interesting that altho’ this door was open, and on a main street, I would not have just gone in.  Without knowing more about it, I would have knocked or taken a good look inside from the street, before entering..

Enjoy another Thursday, exploring  more doors.

Happy Tuesday everyone

Treasures found yesterday, wonderful bricks, a sign with history, and a set of doors to a root cellar.

Does anyone know what these doors are called?  I want to say trap doors, but.. I am not sure?  I found wonderful doors, but will save them for Norm’s Thursday Doors.

It was misting off and on, practically all day but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves.  I have this lovely friend who I can always count on to get in touch at the last moment and suggest a road trip. Whooo hoooo out of the blue, we took off for an adventure that led us to a wonderful tea room in Perth, Ontario. We really  did well, we got there early enough to get a table at the lace curtained table where we could enjoy the street traffic on Perth’s main street at the noon hour.

I didn’t think of it, or I would have taken pictures of the delicate china our lunch was served on, Bonnie had a fancy tea, while I stayed with my ice water..  We both tried the Thai soup, while Bonnie had a sandwich I had a wrap, all delicious. YES we both indulged in dessert. Uh huh, not telling, calories were not counted.  Address will be shown below.

Doing something ..just because… can be a wonderful way to enjoy a mini vacation when none was planned.

Happiness is something that comes from within.  Doing something that brings smiles and a lot of chuckling is a super way to make a dull weather day, a whole lot of fun.  Good food, and great company Whoooo hoooo Katchoo.. =^_^=

why?

IMG_0622

Why?

I tried, I wanted to

I even brought my pens with me, I planned it all, the lined pages,

pristine white, blank pages,

for days I even  practiced the different styles of lettering

anticipation high, time to doodle and write.

Yet when I got to where we were going,

Not once, did I use the pens to practice my lettering

The pads of blank pages, came home empty.

Why?

It is the journey, the living each day that is important, obviously, while away my time was filled with happy moments, new discoveries,  a sense of adventure and of course, the cherished company of a wonderful husband and our two frisky “canine children”

PL Precept # 18  Each moment is a turning point.

When we live in the NOW, there are no regrets.

PL Precept # 11  Always be with God

May happiness and good health bless your day today!
