its been awhile
I got to thinking the other day
of the times we had back when
we had time to play
remember those lazy days
at the lake,
we had so much fun didn’t we
our world was so full of adventure
the discoveries were amazing
What happened to the fairgrounds
and all the dreams we had
how is the family, especially your Dad
remember how he used to joke around with us
does your Mom still makes those awesome pies
Those early morning
boat rides, especially
if we got to take the canoe
how well I remember the
calm and the thrill of it all
gosh, was it really so very long ago!
I know we can’t go back, the sands of time are slowly shifting. R.I.P. my friend, say hello to family and friends you meet on your new journey. I’ll see you soon, meanwhile know you are forever in my heart.

Should I …. or shouldn’t I
we may not say it out loud
but our hesitation, our actions
or non actions
speak volumes
do we some times, learn to late
that perhaps we should have given a bit more thought
to a situation or opportunity,
before, we stepped out to meet “fate”
sometimes it is our choice
of friends, and/or toys
we surround ourselves with
our time on earth is a gift
and yes, it seems that we are constantly being challenged
by one choice or another
and, yes, our minds just never stop chattering
one solution always brings up another possibility
compromise can make life more complicated
know what YOU want for yourself
never compromise with your SELF
once something is said or done
we can not take it back

sometimes I find myself standing by a bridge
not sure whether or not to cross to the other side
I wonder, should I stand and enjoy the view from where I am
even while I hesitate, I know I want to see the other side
others are seen crossing bridges every day
why do I hesitate
why is it that I seem to be cast in stone
my feet not moving, my arms by my side
I appear to be still, but I’m all a muddle inside
by day it does seem so inviting
and really, we can walk back if the other side is not to our liking
or can we…
having crossed over, we are looking ahead
coming back, we would once more be starting from the other side
and the way forward, would be a totally different path
why, because, day is day and night is night
and try as you might
we can never go back to where we started
nothing would be the same
yes it is a shame, but such is life
if you fail to live the moment, when it happens
tomorrow it will be gone
is it wrong to want to cross every bridge we see
when your heart is strong, and your head is clear
you will know what to do
your feet will fly like the wind
and you will meet your destiny
happily and cheerfully
bridges were built to be crossed

Some days we climb the stairs to our destination
without a thought or glance

we hurry, we let our thoughts race ahead

storing memories away

and soon the memories
lie like dust on all that was
and we are left wondering
how so many years were squandered

it is never too late
to rediscover our faith
