Ancestor’s Day

Today in PL (Perfect Liberty) we will celebrate Ancestors Day in a ceremony at 10 a.m. in the church. This ceremony is performed every month on the 11th. 10:a.m.

Through this ceremony, we express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors. The word “ancestors” applies not only to family but to people who have influenced our lives, helped and guided us to live the PL WAY.

What do we teach the youth of today. What values do we impart. These are not questions requiring an immediate answer, these are the thoughts to reflect on while living our daily lives. With all due respect, I wish you all the blessing of a life filled with love, awareness and caring for your fellow man.

Bom dia, happy Saturday everyone!

A lazy start to another wonderful day, closes my eyes, smiles and remembers yesterday. Would you look at this tree, how old must it be, how extraordinary its experiences in life must have been. It is hard to tell from a picture just how high that opening is, right away, I want to climb up to explore inside. In some ways it reminds me of a big bird with its mouth open, and other times when I look at it, I imagine its the entrance to a hobbit condo. Imagination is wonderful isn’t, so is intuition. Both are gifts we were born with, some of us use these gifts more than others.

It is still too cool in this part of the world, to lay in the shade basking under the warm healing sunshine, but in other parts of the country this could be one of your options today. Yes I am a bit of a day dreamer, but what is wrong with taking a bit of “laid back” time for yourself. Value your intuition, often we “know” a little voice tells us, we “need” to slow down, engage in some “me time”. Instead we look at our lists, or to the voices of friends who want to go here, there and everywhere, and you become “busy, busy busy”. We are not machines, and we all know that machines break down, require ongoing maintenance. Unlike the tree in the first picture, we might not show our scars and our age in the same way, but instinctively we do know when its time to rest, when we have pushed ourselves to a limit. The “Universe” looks out for us, Believe and have Faith, listen to your “intuition”, stop planning every minute of your day. Allow time in your day to P L A Y. Don’t wait for a better time, that time will never just materialize. Be good to your SELF today. PRAY=recharge, rain or shine, make this a day you’ll remember. PL Precept #18. Each moment is a Turning Point.

bonjour! salut! Hi everyone!

This picture is powerful, dynamic, it is was taken along the Oregon Coastline at a place called Keyhole, it has been photographed by many visitors who have been enraptured by its vibrant energy. ( This picture was taken by Garry Liddell.) I’ve always had a interest in doors, gates and the like. A door is not just something that closes you in, but it an opportunity to go through or enter into a new discovery. I recall many years ago, while still at the hospital, we had expanded, adding another large component to our corporate structure a new Public Relations Director came on board. He was from “away” meaning he wasn’t local, When I had occasion to meet with him, I found him pleasant enough, but what struck me most was the huge poster he had in his office. It was all doors, all shapes, sizes and colours. Till that moment I hadn’t realized that others shared my “passion” for doors. Like duh!

Sometimes in life we are so engrossed in what we are doing, have to do, need to do, want to do, we forget that there is a whole world going on around us that we are not “seeing” or partaking in, because we are existing and not LIVING. Maybe a month or so later, Michael came to my office with a big round package, he had remembered my delight in seeing the doors so next time he had returned to him hometown, he got me a copy of the poster. I have it to this day, as a reminder of his kindness, and the memory of the Ah Ha! moment I had that day. I had become so focused and caught up in my “job” and “hospital politics” I had lost touch with my “inner voice”.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles/kindness is to humanity. They are but trifles, to be sure, but, scattered along life’s pathways, the good they do is inconceivable. (Addison)

It is easy to get caught up in our day to day, however if it is important to you, you can always find some time in your day to pray/meditate. Give yourself permission to get in touch with your “inner voice” . with strong conviction and Makoto (sincere effort) you will find the door or pathway that will lead you towards your goal, and give you the “key” or drive to see your “challenge” through. Top of the morning !

Druid Forest, Ireland.. What an enchanting photograph. Today being St. Patrick’s day, I’m sure there will be a lot of wearing of the green today. I know that my experience has been, Irish or not, many people celebrate the day, and share in the ancient traditions. Did you know that the ascending series of green- white- red- formed the favourite symbols of the Egyptians and the Celtic druids, Dante who knew his traditional symbology, had Beatrice appear dressed in green,white and red, which expressed, hope, faith and charity. Did you know that green is a colour of antithetical tendencies…. it is the colour of life, (growth) and the colour of death.. Similarly green takes the middle place in the every day scale of colours. LOL I’m sure that today you will soon loose count of all the different shades of green you see, not to mention the many creative ways green will be shown, or adorned.

Oshieoya-sama (head minister of the Church of PL, Perfect Liberty) wrote an article (May 12, 1984) which was reproduced for us and distributed in the Perfect Liberty newsletter volume 7, issue 1, March 2014, in which he talks about the similarity and the differences in PL and other religions. He talks of how the objectives of religions are all similar , in that they all strive for World Peace, then goes on to talk about how each religion has its own unique way of sharing this with their members. One of the most important things taught in PL is to put the teachings into practice, on a daily and regular basis. For a copy of this article (it is short one page),i n the States, contact Rev. These cliffs in Ireland bring tourists from far and wide. When I saw them I thought of how majestic and beautiful they were, how nature over time had carved out each and every crevice in her own way as only she can do.. each section is a story all of its own, yet together they present the viewer with a formidable challenge, could they be climbed? I know myself, I would want to study all the nooks and crannies to discover the secrets that they would hold. while I gazed at the shear beauty of the cliffs, I wondered if the photographer had taken close up shots of any of the different rock compositions, and plant varieties……. Guess I’ll never know =^_^= another puzzle, that brings a smile.. Mysteries are so much a part of life when one has a curious active mind…

Feelings

Bonjour! Hey, how you doing today? So happy to share this moment with you.

Feelings what a topic to meditate on. What a range , what a gamut of feelings to explore. smiles and send you love….. Feelings are unique to each and everyone of us. The depth, the breadth of our emotions belong to us. We need to learn to own them. So easy to say, so hard sometimes to do. AND, dear friend not only do we have to own our own feelings, we have to accept differences and respect the feelings of others. We all have different ways of thinking and feeling.

When I was younger, this place or one like it was in my dreams, this is where I wanted to study and be, (China, Fuqing temple). I never got there physically, but today I found this photograph and my feelings of yesterday, came rushing back. Value your ability to feel, feelings are part of who you are. Own them, allow them to flourish and grow, even feelings that hurt or are painful, bring a lesson and their own rewards. Trust and believe in the blessings of the Universe. One challenge that always seems to reoccur in my life, is recognizing and accepting that I am not perfect! My type AA personality often gets in my way.As I mature/age I’d say that I’m doing better, at one time I would have been a triple A. I’m working at whittling it down. =^_^=. A devoted and 100% practicing Taoist, I was overcome with a wonderful emotion of community when I first attended a PL service. (Perfect Liberty) I was very fortunate that the minister at the time I visited the church was one, Rev. Takashi Goto. I was never a church goer but over the years I had attended Christian services before and was very interested in finding out that this was nothing like I had ever experienced before.

For the first time ever, I heard and felt my beliefs and connection to God/TAO expressed in a way that spoke to me and said…”The philosophy here is mine”. I was able to have meaningful and thought provoking conversations with Rev. Goto, that expanded and nourished my connection to the Universe. The encounter dusted off some of the forgotten lessons I’d learned in the past, and swept out the dust bunnies in corners of the “room” I was residing int. He had words in Japanese that were totally unfamiliar to me, but explained, I understood. I began to revisit places in my mind that had been forgotten or neglected. My connection with God/TAO grew stronger, and continues to grow stronger each and every day. He would say ” we must put “makoto” in everything we do and say”… he reinforced something I’ve tried to do all my life (not always succeeding)… No matter how small the task, or light hearted the conversation, when we practice makoto in everything we do and say, when a challenges reappears in our lives, we will handle it with a new perspective.

Begin each day with a renewed sense of appreciation

After watching the news last night and seeing the snow storms that hit parts of the States and Canada leaving behind a mess to be cleaned up and dealt with for days to come, went searching for a picture that showed green vegetation and new growth. Wow my prayers and positive energy is being sent out to all of you who need that extra boost.

The PL lesson for today was > Begin each Day with a Renewed Sense of Appreciation < Are you living each day and getting into a rut? By making small changes in the things you do, your day to day life can become fresh and exciting. We are here today , by the grace of God. Let’s make each day meaningful, by starting out with a feeling of gratitude for a brand new day. In being genuinely happy about life, we will be blessed with a deeper sense of happiness.

Smile, you are loved each and every day, sometimes we may not feel very loved, but you are. Know and believe, you are loved.

Good Monday Morning Everyone

There is a great sense of joy when we are able to express our true selves. Our environment and the things that happen all around us, are all materials for self expression. In PL we are taught that with God’s blessing, we will be able to freely express ourselves using these materials. When I found this little church tucked away between a wooded area and the sea, the artist’s build brought a genuine smile and joy to me. If you are virtual traveler this is the link to !
