Mother Nature, no one does natural beauty like the gifts nature offers us … we need only look around. Attended the summer Gneiss Guy crystal, mineral and fossil show/sale… to be completely surrounded by minerals and nature’s gifts.. to touch and experience the energy from the crystals and earth treasures from all over the world was energizing.
I drove down to Montreal in the morning, was back mid afternoon. The drive was full of quiet reflection, skies were blue, clouds were white and puffy…. There is something very humbling about being able to hold and experience a mineral that came from half way around the world, dug out of the bowels of the earth and handled by many hands before arriving where I could hold and take in its unique composition.
The fossils are even more intriguing. I was there very early .. doors opened at 9 yet, when I got there shortly before 10… vendors were already leaving boxes of inventory for their shops/boutiques. There was a lot of crystal, but after years of collecting, I am more selective wanting pieces now for my personal “stash”… since I not longer create one of a kind sculptures and jewelry… I can just satisfy my personal need to feed my “pleasure” chest.
I bought/adopted pieces that made me smile and drew me in with charm and delightful designs all completely presented from the earth itself. I did indulge in a few carved birds (yes from the minerals ) there are some amazing artists and creators out there.
I am filled with gratitude for the time and efforts of the artisans, “rock ” hunters, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs who bring these treasures where I can enjoy them.

I posted on Facebook today – Age is a number – do you feel/agree with that? When you look in the mirror, are you surprised by what you see? Do you wonder how many times you have looked in the mirror only to see a face you don’t recognize? Would you really want to go back in time.??
Questions that I seem to face on a more regular basis since moving to where I live now. I’ve been learning to ignore looking at the wall to wall mirror in the bathroom.. I decided it was time to cut my hair the other day, so I had to look then… but.. otherwise…
We are almost in the month of July… you ready for it? What happened to the month of June,???

Sometimes we have to listen to the silence… let the mind rest…. we tend to always be on the go….
Noticing all our feelings – positive, negative and neutral – can help bring a sense of freedom.

Sometimes sharing “downtime” with a friend helps put things in perspective. Not because either has anything earth shattering to say or share – just allowing the moment to BE… a comfortable silence can be a breath of fresh air. Compatible Silence – Nice!
Words can be noise, silence ….is golden…

It is inspiring to look back .. and see… how a handful of moments can define your destiny.
I have learned over time to do my best to be present in every moment of my life…… to allow the reality of the moment determine where I am going.

Solid as a Rock

Memories might not always be front and center but they are always part of who we are.
Every day, is a new forever
Don’t squander it.

Avoid having too many “likes” or “dislikes” Whether it is food, people or anything else in life be careful not to overly like or dislike something. Things tend to get complicated when you allow yourself to be overly one-sided.

This is a picture of Gracie listening to me intently as I try to explain to her why she should trade her toy for the celery I’m offering her. What do you think? Is she buying?
I did get a picture of her trying the celery she is such a good girl, she wanted to try since I was being to adamant on its goodness for her. It wouldn’t sent.. so I’ll have to share that picture another time.
She listened, she tried, she did chew away after the first initial ..”what is this” … celery is chewy and stringy…it made a mess. but to her credit she gave it the old college try.
“” When your thinking is too rigid, you will be unable to deal with ideas in a flexible and constructive way. Always strive to look at things with a fresh mind.””
