Wednesday 9th

Ever felt like you are caught between a rock and a hard place. This has been my position these last 48 some hours. I’ve been doing this blog since 2012 and overall have been pleased with WP. In fact I’ve been happy, blogging along, with no major disruptions or problems. Then out of nowhere, I couldn’t load anything, it was so frustrating, it took awhile but finally the reason became clear, I am a premium member (means I pay monthly for the service) What I had not realized was that there was a maximum storage associated with the account. Ah…. what to do.

Yesterday I got my second Covid shot, and truthfully all I wanted to do was sleep. So that is what I did, this morning I got on with the WP csr.. and found out my options. To reduce my storage means I go back to 2012 and start deleting .. it is simple enough, once I understood what I needed to do, but it is a loooong process. Hours later I have barely scraped the top of the bucket. I will persevere.

You can freely express yourself within the rules. (sigh I’m finding this out) Consider rules as a canvas on which to express your specialty artistically.

I can be thankful that for so many years I have been basically problem free. Now I have to reconsider my plan of action going forward. This is good because it means I have to look at what I’ve been doing, and decide if this is still the way I want to proceed.

We are still experiencing very hot, weather, the forecast is for it to cool down to more seasonable temperatures over the next few days. For those able to attend, we will have service on the 11th. Ancestor’s day at 10 a.m.

PL Precept #4 Being annoyed limits your expression.

Everything will be just fine.. With a positive attitude anything is possible.

When I first saw this picture that Num (NumOttawa on Instagram) posted I wanted to write a love sonnet, a sentiment of caring and adoration, I was so inspired. I didn’t do it, I put the idea aside and .. yup, l lost the moment.

How often have I had an idea in the middle of the night, wake enough to think I should write it (notebook and pen are right there by the bed) I don’t do it, thinking I’ll remember, I don’t.

Yesterday I went for my second covid shot.. I got the appointment in the morning, for 5:10 that afternoon. Booking online you then have to wait for confirmation that your request was accepted and that you are confirmed. There were public announcements bookings were not happening the city was out of vaccines, people couldn’t get through to the call in centres, or if they did they were told sorry, call back. It was a day of waiting and hoping that mine would happen. It did. Whew… so relieved.

But somehow during the day, I lost the TV remote. Don’t ask I have no idea, how, why or where, it is not to be found anywhere, I’ve looked and searched to no avail. At one time, there were two of us looking, my friend who drove me for my shot.. helped turn everything upside down too.. nothing. The two heads are better than one, didn’t work.. sigh.

So guess what, it is time to tell myself “things happen” and yes its darn inconvenient, but accept it I must and move on

pretty textures

I managed a few pictures of the sun and shadows that played amongst the ground cover on the forest floor. I confess to giving in to the hoard of biting mosquitos that swarmed all around me. This is the first time they have managed to get up my sleeves, and /or bite through the flannel shirt I was wearing. My arms are covered in bites/welts, I will be taking allergy pills for the rest of the day.

I have a video that I somehow took while capturing the pictures I got this morning. Try as I might I don’t know how to size it so it will show up here. You can actually see all the activity of the mosquitos flying back and forth around the lens of the camera. If someone out there also on WP can offer a suggestion I’d appreciate your comments. What I have is 1:48 minutes long. In the past I just insert and it has copied, but not today.

walking in the rain

Textures come alive in the rain. I thought should I bring my camera, its pouring, I’m glad I did.. I hung the camera inside my vest pulled it out only to get the pictures, and then dropped it back inside under cover. I imagined a quilt of different shades of green using the textures of the plants, leaves, branches.

It was my first time to consciously take a walk in the woods in the rain. I put on my Bogs (wet boots) wore long sleeves, sprayed my hat, scarf, and sleeves with heavy duty insect repellent. yes did my socks and jeans, put on a kind of wet spring type jacket over me and took off. Even brought my walking stick.

I wish there was a way for you to hear the singing of the birds, they were so happy, there was another car that came along so there were other humans about.. but.. none on the boardwalk.. it was glorious. The air was alive with the singing and calling out of the birds… I didn’t see any near or around the water, but I certainly could hear the chatter. With the steady drizzle there were no snakes trying to sun themselves on the boards either.

I know you can’t see the wet drops, but I hope the pictures give you the feeling of how peaceful it was.

I feel so blessed to have been given the gift of good health, a way for me to get to these wonderful places, and the incentive to follow the inspirations that come my way.

My second “read” was https://rebeccasrevels.wordpress.com/2021/06/02/day153-footnotes-of-a-forced-hand/ how Rebecca’s had to deal with inconsiderate neighbours who allow their untrained dog to terrorize her dogs that are in her yard, securely fenced in and collared.

Yesterday was a beautiful day as you can see from the above photo, today it is a happy day for farmers, it is raining. Not sure how much rain we will get, but from what the radio announced yesterday, it will not be nearly enough. While in Pennsylvania it has rained, stormed and rained some more, we have had little rain to speak of, just lots of bright sunny days, one after another.

We live in such a complex world, so much is happening all around us, Some we can control, and much of it, is simply out there. There is nothing we can do but accept some of it, work around a lot of it, enjoy and appreciate what we can, and move along beyond what is not in our power to do anything about.

Improve yourself to have a kinder heart. Do what you can to be caring and considerate to make others happy.

Change we all need change in our lives, yet for some unknown reason, the tendency is to hang on. Let’s work to improve ourselves… meditate, find inner peace.. even if it is for a short time. ie. for me its the walks in the woods…

Monday morning

A beautiful morning, started at Dewberry and went on next Mer Bleue. I’m pleased with this new app. it tells me that in the last 15 days, I have hit the 50K mark.. Not sure what that is, I still measure in miles, but I do know I average 2 miles a day. (tracked data)… often I don’t have the app tracking .. I’m active, but the cell phone is sitting on a side table or on my desk. Such is life =^_^=

Also note, that today I used a stronger repellent, and I’m pleased to report, that I was hardly bothered by pesky insects. I could see them swarming, but they kept a good distance from me.. I actually stopped. sat on a bench and closed my eyes, allowing the sun and sounds to filter through and just enjoy! It was delightful.

Leaving Mer Bleue I saw two wild turkeys cross the road, and walk along on the side of the road, but on the other side of the ditch. I know I took pictures, but can I find them……….no……not at the moment. =^_^=

the vegetation is so lush… I was there very early between 7- 7:30 a.m. might try to get there even earlier later this week.

Instead of being excessively concerned about others, focus on what you should do.

Silly how one bird can make your day. One photographer Bjoern Rost, can make it even better. By the time I got to the bog, I was running late, I’d already walked at P23…time was limited, I asked Bjoern who had just arrived, IF he was able to get a picture of my little “princess” could he send it along to me.. Et voila, I got more than one, you can see the little woodpecker in all her beauty. yes, to me, she gets my attention more than the blue jay who has also been hanging around. Ok yes there are other birds.. but this little one is the one I spoil. Thank YOU Bjoern!
